10 Days on DDP and STUFFED! The Good, the Bad, the Ugly.... WITH PHOTOS

Great reviews thanks for posting. And I think salad that smells like "smelly armpits" sums it all for me. I am shocked by the way they would ask how are going to tip. I would say "Badly!" The nerve. This is why I hate the forced tip- a forced tip is not a tip it is a service charge. Call it what it is(Can you tell I am bitter about our party of 6 having an automatic tip added.)
That chicken at the prime time did me in too last time. It was so dry and not as yummy as I had hoped. And we love the Sci Fi too- all about the atmoshere.

Thanks for your reviews! I'm glad your trip was a success in spite of a couple bumps in the road. Thankfully your Meg recovered quickly and was able to enjoy the rest of the trip.
In mid December DH and I had dinner at Liberty Tree Tavern and also came away disappointed. Our server was wonderful and very attentive, but the food was just mediocre at best. We did enjoy the salad as the greens were fresh and we both liked the dressing on it. It did have a strong odor from the spanish onions on it so that might have been the smell you found so objectionable. The apple cobbler was fairly good and we did enjoy it also. But, the rest of the meal was not anything to write home about. It came out to us and the temperature was only lukewarm. It was plentiful but just did not taste that great. We did not leave hungry but we were disappointed as the meal just was not up to what we have come to expect from Disney restaurants and the usual Disney standard of excellence. Needless to say, we have been there and done that and will not be returning to LTT to dine again!

Thanks for the reviews.

How did the new DDP work for you? Did you pay tips by cash on every meal? Does it work out OK? I

I am thinking to avoid charging anything to my Resort Key, to prevent the incorrect charges I had in previous year.

Hi

Thanks for the reviews I was going to charge my tips to my room but now I am wondering if I should do cash it might be easier. Thats horrible that your daughter got sick but sounds like you guys still had a gret time.

Thanks for all of your reviews. They were awesome! We ate at 50's PTC last February and I'm almost positive we also had Melissa as our server. She was a hoot!!!!!! We had so much fun. My husband got a shake as his dessert and what he didn't finish she put in a to go cup and we accidently left it at the table. We were walking down the street and someone was yelling "Chuck"! We looked at each other and it was Melissa. We had left her an extra tip. She definitely made our meal. Those are the memories you hold on to. I'm sure she wouldn't remember us if we would get her again, but she definitely made the meal that much better. Too bad all servers aren't like that. Anyway, thanks for the great reviews. We're going back next month and I can't wait.

Lynn

Your's is not the first poor review that I've read about LTT, so it's officially not on our list for ADRs. Tusker House should have been a not brainer for us since we're staying at AKL, so I'm glad that's a great breakfast. I'm alos glad that Meg was able to enjoy the rest of the trip. Thanks again for taking the time and sharing pics.

I charged tips to the room, as I normally rounded up the 18% tip to the nearest dollar. For instance one tip was suppossed to be 6.62 and I tipped $7.
The 2 I didn't want to tip, I wrote cash on the lines, and then left without tipping.
If you were going to tip cash, just write cash, and leave it on the table.

Couple of thoughts....

Someone once told me that it takes 24 hours for salmonella (food poisoning) to hit you. Don't know if it's true. Maybe Meg got sick from the bad meal at LTT.

Too bad you didn't say anything to management about the greedy servers. What do you want to bet that the bad ones are complaining about being stiffed all the time!? Servers need to WORK for their tips....just like the rest of us work for a living. I think my DH would have tracked that server down all through the restaurant to get our drinks refilled. :rotfl: Wonder if Disney is paying attention to who complains frequently about not getting tipped....or if they are reading the Dis boards to find out what's happening already.

Please don't reconsider this ADR. This is just one opinion out of hundreds of thousands who eat there every year. Plus, the way that the OP described her meal (smelly armpit) was a bit strange as I've never heard of food described this way. I would say to go and make your own judgement.

There was a thread, not long ago, that had many posters stating the same opinion! I cancelled my ADR at LTT. It was the same thing, the food wasn't good and the service was horrible!

Great reviews and pics - thanks for sharing!! I totally agree about LTT; we ate there in 2005 and didn't like the food or lackluster service, either.

Thanks for the reviews - it sounds, to me, like the changes that have been made to the DDP have had an adverse effect ont he way people have been tipping and, while not excusing the treatment you got at LTTR and CP, I can understnad that the servers may be concerned they will miss out. All in all, though, it sounds like you had some good dining experiences. Sorry that LTT wasn't a hit for you - we have never eaten there so can't comment but you are perfectly entitled to your opinion and I, for one, appreciate your honest reviews :)

The food was excellent when we was there in Sept, I don't think I would cancel a ADR because of a few bad reviews LTT is one of the top rated places. Not saying the OP is lying everyone has different opinions on different places. Heck we thought Coral Reef was nasty and would never return but lots of people love it..:confused3

So it looks like there were 2 places that you left no tip at all correct?? Did you explain to management or even your server the reasoning?? Any time I get service which is either so poor or so outstanding that I tip outside of my normal range I will seek out a manager to explain that I left either a very large or very small tip and why. I think it is part of my "responsibility" to be a good customer.

I didn't. The first one was our first night and I didn't think, and the 2nd time was our last night, and we were running to find a place for Spectromagic and Wishes, as it was nearly 6:40 by the time we were done in there! I am thinking of writing Disney to let them know. I am not going to name names, but let them know what is going on.

Thank you for your review! Those green beans do look liek lawn clippings.

My daughter is eleven too. Was she considered a adult for the dining plan or can you make her a child? All my daughter would eat is chicken strips and fries? How does it work?

not to be rude but if you do not care the way the OP describes things maybe you should skip this thread?;)

:lmao: My thoughts exactly! :rotfl2:

Great reviews! We did not like Kona Cafe and I reviewed it in my Food report which is the link in my signature. I thought I was going to be flamed with my review, but others felt the same and then there are the others who had a great experience. I just love the diversity here on DIS!!!!:grouphug:

I just started reading and have some catching up to do. Just wanted to say that the LTT review seems to be in line with other reviews I have read. The three biggest complaints I come across for this place is bad meat, bad veges, and extremely rude service. This is why I eat at Crystal Palace. ;)
