10 days before I leave...a couple quick questions

Just trying to get all my ducks in a row.

- I have a new AP I bought that is the green plastic card kind. It has been linked to my magic band. My question is do I still need to get it activated? Is that at the turnstile or somewhere else?

- I would like to buy a TIW card. Can I buy that before my AP is activated or do I have to do it after? Where do I go to buy the card? My first stop will either be DTD or Epcot.

If you did not buy it at the ticket counter I believe you have to activate it still. It's very quick, you just have to sign and show ID as I recall. They also took some information for passholder mailings and offers. You can buy your TIW card at the same time. You can go to guest relations at either EP or DTD. Whichever you hit first. I did mine at the international gateway of EP and the whole process took 5 minutes or less.

Our first night will be going to magic kingdom around 5 pm and have to do our will call annual passes and get our TIW card. How much time do you think it will take? Is the magic kingdom line long? I was trying to make sure I could still make it in time to get to our ADR in time.

Hmm, the guest relations windows should be busiest in the morning hours. I wouldn't think they would be too busy at 5pm. I had to pick up tickets on a Thursday night at 7:30 last May and to get to the window I only waited about 5 minutes. And then it really shouldn't take more than 10 minutes once you do get to the window, likely less in my experience. They have about a half a dozen of the windows and one line for waiting. Of course, you will want to leave as much of a window as possible to account for technical error, just in case! Also add a couple of minutes for bag check before you enter.
