10 Day MYW or 14 Day Ultimate WDW Tickets?

Bit of advice needed please!

We are going for 14 nights, staying on site this time.

10 Day MYW with Water Parks and DQ work out to be about £580 there are 4 of us)

14 Day Ultimate will be about £712.

We plan to spend a day out on I-Drive and shopping at the Premium Outlets.

We plan to spend 2 days at a Water Park, with DTD and DQ one afternoon/evening, and Boardwork on another.

So, to me, it actually makes sense NOT to buy the 14 Day Pass (although you can park hop with these).

10 Days seems plenty during a 14 day holiday - we dont park-hop anyway. Once we've arrived first thing at a park, we like to stay all day. Taking an hour out travelling to another park just doesnt seem worthwhile.

So we'll save about £132 with MYW.

What would you do?

why not get non expirey tickets you can get them thougth this board a 10 day with 6 water parks non expiery cost i think about £235 but will last for years they do outher number of days as well

I would always go for the MYW tickets, there are so many different options available.
Ours are 10 day, non expiry, hopper facility with 5 water park days too - mainly as we spread the usage over a couple of holidays.

We bought non expiry MYW tickets for this trip - and we've enough days left for our next trip too

MYW - I just can't see how anyone can justify 14 day tickets for a 2 week holiday, that's too much of a sugar overdose!

I would go with the MYW ticket everytime,on the old system we would typically buy a 7 day pass coupled with a flex pass for the other parks,we would normally end up with at least 1 park & 2 waterparks towards our next trip.If you check out some of the US sights (Ticketmania,Mapleleaftickets) they have the full selection of days so that you could possibly go with 7,8,9 instead of a full 10,again I would go for Hopper ,non-expiry-the hopper because especially AK,closes at 5.00 so you could hop to another park for a few more hours.
My personal opinion about the Ultimate tickets is that they are a gimmick designed to get you to think that you MUST get your moneys worth,the more days that Disney can get us to visit their parks the more money we spend & the more the opposition loses out!

We've bought 14 day tickets this time as we always use up all the plus options (water parks) and have 'normal days' left over. Plus we do park hop a lot.

So I guess Disney offering both sorts of tickets means each to his own and you can buy what suits you. It sounds like MYW tickets will be best for your group as you seem to do the opposite to us

The thing is the 14 day utlimate tickets can be a lot cheaper than the 10 day MYW tickets

Before we had Annual Passes, we felt the 14 day ticket was right for us. We like to pop in to the parks for just an hour, or maybe just for a meal. The 14 day ticket is much cheaper so we didn't mind "wasting" a "day".

Each to their own, but they were by far the best option for us.

I'm agreeing with Gill, we buy the 14 day ones and even if we don't go into the parks every day its nice to know we can, and we may pop into one for an hour of the evening to enjoy the last show

I've tried to work out a 14 day ticket against the equivalent MYW tickets in terms of park hopper, expiry, water parks etc and it ALWAYS works out more expensive to get MYW tickets on a like for like comparison.

We're not lucky enough to be able to get back year on year and it will be 4 years since out last trip by the time we go in 2008 and it will be another 2 years before we go again after that.

The other problem I have is that we went for a 3 week holiday in 2004 and I contracted Meningitis and was in hospital for a week so I missed a week's worth of attractions. If we had only got the 14 day ticket it would have been a huge waste of money and a nightmare.

I now have a huge fear of getting ill again so we will be going back again for 3 weeks (just in case) and we will get the 21 day tickets again (just in case)!

It all comes down to personal preference, we stay offsite in a villa and do not visit WDW parks excessively, so having a 10 day pass that has hopper and non-expiry facility is best for us.
This way the tickets last us for 2 holidays.

We probably over the course of our 3 week holiday spend 4 mornings at MK , with afternoon or evening visits to other parks on the same days.
The 5 day water park tickets we get with our 10 day pass are ideal too as Joshua loves anything where he can play in water!

He also loves Universal for which we have APs.
