10 and 12 year old together?

Sailing on the dream in August and our kids will be 10 and 12 then. From what i see it seems as though they may have to be split up to do kids club stuff? Are their drop off events that they could do together or will they need to split up? Thanks

Oceaneer's Club/Lab is ages 3-12. Edge is ages 11-14. Your 10 year old will be in Oceaneer's. Your 12 year old can participate in both Oceaneer's and Edge.

And 3-12 means 3 THROUGH 12, not 3 TO 12. That darned dash can be used both ways depending on who is using it!

So the 12 year old can be there until the day before his/her 13th birthday. If they want to.

They can both go to the club/lab together.
A 12 year old (and 11 yo) can go to the club/ lab and edge.
They can both attend open houses together (or as a family) in all of the spaces:club, lab, edge and vibe.
A 10 year old might also be able to attend Edge, however this is based on numbers in Edge for that cruise so I wouldn't advertise this to your 10yo until you know for sure. The only way to find out is to go to Edge and talk to the Counselors there, a grown up also has to sign to allow a 10yo in Edge. You may also be asked to at least try out the club/lab first.

My 10yo was able to go with her 13yo sister in Edge. The 10yo liked Edge much better. There was room and we had to sign a waiver (the kids are able to come and go freely, no check in/out) It worked well for us

They can be together in the lab/club but not necessarily Edge. Do not bank on reports here that their underage or overage kids were allowed in a kids space that did not advertise that age. We sat behind a family at Palo where a dad stormed away from the table because a ships officer politely told him under no circumstance could their kid age up and the ages of the clubs were just that and it was to better the enjoyment of all the kids in the different clubs. I wouldn't normaly listen in but if you make a scene at a restaurant then I just can't help it.

Yes sometimes kids are allowed to age up but it is becoming less and less common. I do wish they would go back to splitting the lab/club into the smaller groups at least part of they day but of course that stopped due to parents complaining too so at the end of the day you can't make everyone happy.

Any child can check into the club/lab and a 10 year can also check themselves out of the club/lab if an adult allows it, so they can also have the same freedom as edge kids.

My ten year old did Edge last month. We went there after lunch to inquire and they told us we just had to sign a waiver. My son loved it. He didn't go to Oceaneer's at all.

I always recommend that all kids age 10, 11, 12, register and get a wrist band for the club/lab, even if they're abosultely sure that they aren't going to go anywhere near it. Reason: they go to Edge and make friends with kids the same age. Those friends are registered. Sometimes they decide they want to go between both for whatever reason. The child that isn't registered and doesn't have a wristband then can't be let into the club/lab with their friends even though they are the right age.
At the end of the day, yes it's $13 for a wristband, but once it's returned that charge is returned to you.

Seriously. I went on dozens of cruises as a kid. Never crossed my mind as to whether my brother would be in the same club as me or not. We each made our own friends anyway.

Heck, my twins are barely together in the clubs. .. let alone their older sister. One twin liked the lab, the other the club. Next cruise when all will be able to be at Edge together (14, 11,11) I predict I'll have one in Edge, one in Lab and one in Vibe! !
