I re-booked the hotel, air, etc. I figured better safe than sorry. I just am not sure that the port will be open and have good enough weather for Sunday either because the storm is going to do a uturn.

I got a call and apparently DCL will give you $100 on board credit, and pro-rate one night if you stay with this cruise. If you reschedule then you get 20% off the next cruise and, of course, you can cancel and get 100% back. I booked with DVC points and am unsure what any of that means for me.

I have been to each of these ports before, but I guess it is more about the cruise and being with my husband then where the cruise goes? Although I have never been on an Eastern and that was the reason for this particular cruise.

What are you thinking?

... Although I have never been on an Eastern and that was the reason for this particular cruise...

If we were in your position we would rebook a future Fantasy eastern for another month @ 20% off.

There is also hurricane Nicole out there now too.

HTH and good luck.

Probably because their booking offices are in the hurricane warning zone, in a high rise office building that has been told to shut down.

I thought Disney had call centers in other areas other than Florida? I guess I was wrong. They are closed, as they should be in the mist of all that is happening in Florida. I hope everyone is safe.

I plan on having that discussion with my husband when he comes home for sure. I did hear about Nicole. I hope Nicole is absorbed in Matthew and that Matthew lessens when it does the uturn - staying that way.

At the time I wrote that, they said Western and didn't say where exactly. It was frustrating to get the information, but not the entire bit of it.

Hugs!! I get the frustration. I think DCL is really in a catch-22... If they wait to get all the information out at once, people scream that they are taking too long. But if they put stuff out in bits, people get frustrated at the incomplete information. I'm not defending anything - just saying that they really are between a rock and a hard place.

I was the opposite dealing with a cabin change on the NCL cruise I scheduled for Spring Break (computer crashed before I completed the reservation which locked up my preferred studio for a bit so I booked with my second choice and wanted to change it). I tried to call the personal cruise consultant who had contacted me about changing it and got his voice mail which stated they were closed until at least Friday. I asked on another forum if I could change it myself online (you can't) and was sharply informed that their main number went to a call center in Arizona. Once I heard his message I didn't bother trying that one yesterday as I assumed it was closed too knowing DCL's is in Florida. (I did get someone at NCL today who was very happy to not be fielding ANOTHER hurricane question and was able to change me.)

Hugs with whatever you decide to do!

Merging these together since they are for the same sailing. FWIW I would be leaning towards cancelling and rebooking IF it is easy for you to switch vacation time/flights. If thats impossible then I'd go with the flow!

He -DH- wants to go. So we are going to go, if possible. Thanks to all for the back and forth, for listening and for all the information. I learn more on the disboards then anywhere!

We rebooked .. I was too worried about it actually getting to leave on Sunday and getting down there from Alabama.
