I posted this on the Codes & Rates sub-forum of the Disney Resorts forum but I had to share with my BB buddies. As you know, we all want to save as much money when booking our WDW trips. Hopefully this spreadsheet will help you compare package prices to find the best one for you .

Mods, if you prefer this to stay only on the Codes & Rates board, that's fine, just go ahead and delete this. Thanks!

Here is where to download the file:

http://www.mediafire.com/file/cnvzjikzmmd/WDW 10 & 7 Day.xls

A few notes and tips on this spreadsheet:

1) Please note that there are multiple tabs/worksheets named as the time periods that I am considering. Each is titled with the number of days and the time frame I am looking to go. There are worksheets for both 10 and 7 day trips as well as a summary of savings page to see an overview of how much you are actually saving with a promotion.

2) The only cells that need to be changed are the top cells:
a) Underneath "Week of" input your dates as a range.
b) Underneath "# of Nights" input the number of nights your will be staying.
c) Next to "Rack Room Rates" enter the total room only reservation rate for your specific time frame. As you know this can be found by going to the Disney Vacation website and searching for a room only rate.
d) Next to "Total Ticket Rate" enter the total ticket price for your time frame. Be sure to include the total price including Park Hopper and Water Parks & More price in the total price if that is part of your plan.
e) Next to each individual dining plan section, enter the total PER DAY dining rate for your party, NOT the total dining plan price for your stay. The formulas for the promotions utilize the PER DAY price.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions, tips, etc. Thanks and again, Happy WDW Planning!

This awesome! Thank you so much. I have been doing this somewhat, but you did it much better. :thumbsup2

Can you help me? :confused3 I got a quote from a TA for Poly GV ($253.13/night taxes included) and Poly GV CL ($303.75/night taxes included). I am thinking of a 10night stay in Dec 2010 where rack rates appear to be ($365 GV $505 GV CL and that is w/out taxes included). For dining it would be for 2 adults and 2 children. I got my park tix from UT for $889.80 for 8 days no hopper. What a long back story, huh? Sorry.

So then, would this be a good deal to book GV or GV CL now with this TA rather than wait for Disney promos like 4/3 or FD? I ask b/c I believe if I book through the TA, my deposit may be non refundable so it's either book these rates now or gamble and see if the future promos may be offered. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance. :flower3:

No Problem!! I'm happy to help.

OK, first of all, because you are looking at the Poly, Free Dining would do absolutely nothing for you. A 40% or 4/3 code would work much better. Let's lay it out. Also this is based on 9 nights since you said it was a 10 day trip. Let me know if that's not right

Your current deal/offer with a TA:

Poly GV = $2278.17 + $890 Tix = $3168.17
Poly GV CL = $2733.75 + $890 Tix = $3623.75

IF you were to get a 40% off discount:

Poly GV = $1971 + $890 = $2861
Poly GV CL = $2727 + $890 = $3617

IF you were to get a 4/3 discount:

Poly GV = $2922.50
Poly GV CL = $3804.50

Again, these circumstances are IF you were to get one of these discounts. If you got a free dining discount, you would actually only be saving the amount of the DDP, which in your case would be $971 but these above plans do not include the DDP. Therefore your cost would be at the rack rate and would be:

Poly GV = $4175
Poly GV CL = $5435

So it looks like the 40% off discount would be in your best interest but there is always the problem of whether or not it will offered.

Good luck and I hope that helps!

It's not that I am lazy and can't figure it out, it's just that it would take me until 2010 to work the numbers. Thanks so much!

How does it all change with 40% off vs. TA pricing if it were in fact 10 nights?

I wanted to add an additional question. Do your numbers exclude the 12.5% tax for the resort? The TA numbers include the tax. Doing fuzzy math, it seems like that could change things around a lot. Right?
