So what are everyone's plans for Christmas???

Jeff I was thinking that you had some Christmas this last weekend??

You are correct. My brothers came over on Sunday. Nothing major get together wise. My mom has been gone for over 5 years now and my dad 11 1/2. My sister didn't come, nor did my brother's wife. So just the 3 of us and my 2 bros. We use to do Xmas on Xmas Eve, when we went to my mom's. After her death we still did Thanksgiving a week or two before the holiday and then Xmas still on Xmas Eve, but now they just combine the two holidays and pick a weekend in between. My guess is that will end within the next two years as well.

They did drive in from south of Madison in the snow. One lives there, the other is in So. California. He flew in for the weekend. DS only sees him once, maybe twice a year at best. We will see him for a little while before the Repo cruise (I'm getting him to drive me from LAX to our hotel the night before the cruise).

This weekend we don't have anything going on (except a party at Suz' boss').

Xmas Eve will be DS's program at school and then Suz' parents in the afternoon on Xmas (after several hours of Wii in the morning here at our house  ).

Rake leaves(maybe), pick up my paycheck on Wednesday then take Hazel out to lunch, buy new work boots for the winter, and DIS'ing!!! ;)

Well then I expect this thread's post count to go way up this week.

BTW, I see we are now on page 1 if you sort by replies. That didn't take long. We are about 5th from the bottom.

We're still on page 2 if you sort by "views", but getting close. The lurkers will get us over to page 1 soon enough. :rotfl:

And of course Jeff, is the one to point that out...Good old Jeff.:lmao:

You all should know to watch out when I'm on the board.

I never miss a chance to point out something dirty. I have to fill in for Chris when he's not on. Where is he by the way? :confused3

Maybe on some Holiday he forgot to tell us about:rolleyes1

O.K., gotta run. There is a piano practicing meltdown going on downstairs I better attend to.

Then Dinner. I'll check back with everyone later.

Anyone willing to share their Favorite Holiday Tradition?

Our tradition is that Christmas is rarely on Dec 25. Being married to a cop and the daughter of a nurse, we have to coordinate when everyone is off. My mothers tradition is to buy all the men in the family socks for christmas. This year Christmas falls on Dec 29th.

I also have to watch all of the Christmas Cartoons. And the new tradition is watching Elf with Will Farrell and Grinch with Jim Carrey.

I forgot to say before - I thought I'd better warn you all......

Neil is lurking:rotfl2:

So we have Lurking Lynn and Nosey Neil :confused3 (just kidding Hi Neil)

I'm with you on this one Becky, My DH is a cop also, so Christmas is whenever we are all home together.
I love to watch all the Christmas shows also, and my kids & I love to watch Jingle All the Way, have you watched that one??

I haven't seen that one. I guess the good thing is that mom was a nurse growing up so it wasn't any different when Sean became a Deputy. He has been at headquarters this year so he actually has the holiday off, should have them off next year since it is a 2 year post.

Does the piano thing happen at your house too? Claire has a new teacher this year and I want her to stick with it. . . The first day after the lesson is the worst!

Philip says his favorite tradition is a bonus check.:rotfl:

Actually we go to his mom and dad's on Christmas Eve and his dad reads the Christmas story. We eat. Then presents.

We have Christmas at home on Christmas Day. I try to fix brunch for all the grandparents to come visit with the kids. My mom is a nurse, too and always works 3-11. The morning suits her well.

Lori and I plan a Christmas together four our family around everyone's schedule. Philip and I are usually flexible because I am off through the holidays and he can usually arrange to be. Sometimes it is rough living so close to all of our family (expectations) but most of the time it is wonderful. We go from house to house.

We're imitating Christmas with the Kranks this year. Since my dad is in the hospital and will be for the next few months, we decided to skip our traditional Christmas celebration. No dinner at my folks house, no gift opening there, and no dice games. Instead, we are packing up all our presents, bringing hot chocolate in a thermos with some cookies and going up to the hospital to have Christmas there instead. 9 people in his tiny room. :scared1:

Where did Nancy go??

Went to visit my daddy.

Not usually an issue. He hasn't been feeling well lately, so I'm not sure if that has an effect on him today.

He has it in his mind though that he only has to play each song twice as opposed to playing for a certain period of time. Need to get that switched.

I'm just happy he likes it and is picking it up. I am NOT musically inclined.

Unless you all plan on posting 200 posts tonight, looks like we have fallen behind our 1,000 posts a week pace.

I'm sure we'll pick that up in the final year (we did about 1,000 every 3-4 days in the final 6 months).:scared1:

Looks like a lot of us are on tonight:
