Evening Matthew. How are you tonight?

Just getting on here to read back the several pages that were posted today.

Looks like no letting up during this holiday week on the BOB.

Where do you find out about those things when you get on board? Is it in the Navigator? If so, do you actually sign up for it or just show up?

I would have loved the bridge tour. I see that the kids get to go sometimes. Do they ever offer an adult bridge tour?

Matthew:cool2:

We did the Brdige tour on our 3-night cruise. Our son, who was 5 at the time, went with us. They have more adult ones than kid ones I believe.

And yes, all of this info is in the Navigator. If you need copies, I can post a sight that has them (or PM you). I can't post a link because the DIS will "*" it out.

But you need to sign up for these events. Some do cost extra. Some are free. The Bridge is a free one.

We want to do Palo - brunch and dinner
The hidden mickey challenge
Martini tasting
Find deck 7 aft sunbeds
Cooking demos
character brekkie
order room sevice
lunch in lumieres
spa
gfind the gym or do a class
watch a movie in the evening outdoors
Use the hot tub in the evening
go to the cinema
scoff from the dessert buffet
steal eclairs from cove cafe - oh wait! - I already did that one:lmao:

Two of the items on your list were on ours for this last cruise. I finally found the Deck 7 aft sunbeds and the gym! :thumbsup2 On our first cruise, I walked around and around and couldn't find the gym. :guilty: This time, I asked one of the spa folks. She took me through the spa and into the gym. It was closed at the time, but that was just as well since I snapped a couple of pictures. People get a bit touchy about gym photos when they are working out.

Mel, I haven't read back yet, but how was the last day at the old job?

Hope the new one goes well tomorrow.

Even though I should be working ... ;)

I just realized that this time next year we will all be talking about our upcoming on-line booking dates for excursions and other good things like that!

Just for fun, what are you all planning on doing on the ship or in port?

I'll start:

Jay and will book all the dining options at Palo because we love eating there!

We will book the naughty mud room because that's a cruise tradition for us. ;) We are also talking about booking one of the spa suites but that's going to depend on our budget next year and whether or not we'd just rather have a cabana massage again on Castaway Cay ... that was a pretty good experience and a great way to end the cruise!

We've parasailed twice at Castaway Cay, so I'm not sure yet if we'll do it again ... just depends on the mood we're in once it's time to book I suppose.

As for shore excursions ... we're up in the air about St. Martin - we really want to get to the French side of the island and check that out but we also want to spend some time in the water (they have gorgeous water there). And of course there is the J&B Guavaberry Expeditionary Force to consider! :lmao:

I think that we will try to get over to St. John when we're docked in St. Thomas - Jay would love to snorkel there and I would love to let him. :thumbsup2

That's all I can come up with for now. :goodvibes

O.K., I'm a little late in getting to this one.

For us, we will definitely book Palo Brunch and Dinner.

In St. Maarten, we will probably go to a beach on our own.

St. Thomas will either be the Trunk Bay tour through DCL or Meghan's Bay on our own.

Nothing for Castaway, just the BEACH! :cool1:

Just a drive by posting...I'll have to try to get caught up soon.

Today was my last day at the old job and new one starts tomorrow. I have to get grades in right now for an online course and do some more work.

Hope everyone had a great day and that you all have a restful evening.

Good luck Mel hope it goes really well for you!!! :goodvibes pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Maybe we'll have to coordinate so the kids can play together.

Sounds good!! :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

Are you going to St Martin in September? There was a stand not far from where the ship docks that sold Guavaberry Smoothies. Brenda is really the Guavaberry expert (I think she holds stock in the stuff). All I can say is that it was the best morning alcoholic beverage I ever had. I thought I could take it back onto the ship but it wasn't allowed so I had to guzzle it down. Let's just say that I was whistling all the way back to our cabin.:goodvibes

We had some amazing strawberry smoothies at the Cove Cafe with Mike and Robin, Walt and Di, and Cass one morning. They were just amazing. Thanks for the great idea again Mike. :thumbsup2 I think we are planning another smoothie meet on the BOB cruise. Come join us! :thumbsup2

I had a virgin strawberry daiquiri at that place you are talking about in St Maarten, maybe next time I will have to try a guavaberry one ::yes::

And yes, that smoothie meet was a lot of fun, definitely deserves a do-ever :thumbsup2 :cool1:

Hi Jeff,

On our Med cruise, we did one tour. That was a general ship tour where they talked about the design and decorating of the ship. I remember that they mentioned how many different carpet styles were onboard. Also, you could tell what deck you were on by the carpet design in the elevator lobbies. Pretty cool. :) We just showed up for that tour without signing up. Do you sign up at the Guest Services desk or the Shore Excursion desk?

Side Note: Our tour guide for the above mentioned tour was Laura from England. We ended up running into her everywhere for the entire cruise. By mid-cruise, we started calling it a "Laura Siting" every time we ran into her. (No, we were not stalkers! It was all pure coincidence.) :rolleyes1

Matthew

I'm supposed to be working too....but I'll play!

We want to book Palo brunch and dinner - we have not been to Palo at all yet!

Stingrays at CC

No idea about the ports yet...I want to do a beach day for one, but can't decide which one yet.

I'm the same way, Brenda - I need a mix of relaxation and activity. When we went to Mexico w/ Pete's family, Pete and I did an excursion over to Chitzen-itza (sp?) and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Most of the trip was hanging out at the beach at the resort, and I've never read so many books on vacation in my life because I needed something to keep myself occupied!

Last year's cruise was a nice mix, but I think I might have needed more relaxation. Part of me is hoping that the shows haven't changed, because then we can skip the ones we've seen and explore the ship some more...or just hang out at Quiet Cove some more....

Stingrays were good. I think Grand Cayman was better, but DS did better on Castaway. For the money though, Castaway is a great interaction.

Matthew, I don't think they offer the bridge tour anymore, unless things have changed recently.

You can get an idea of what's planned on the cruise if you look at the navigator's. There is a link to them on the BOB site. It won't be exact but very close to what ours will be. :thumbsup2

Evening Cass.

How are you tonight? Did the heat wave break yet?

We're in for a hot one on Wednesday - 88* and humid.

Yes, you would sign up at Guest Services for the stuff that is done onboard. They will actually give you tickets for it, even if there is no coast (like the Tea with Wendy).

Well that's me for tonight. Rob bought me the movie "The Other Boleyn Girl" so we're gonna go watch that.

And since tomorrow is Canada Day, Rob has the day off and he's getting up with Kira so I get to sleep in :cool1: :woohoo:

I don't get to do that very much during his DJ season because he has to sleep in Saturdays to be able to stay up until 4 AM and then of course he sleeps in on Sunday just to recover ::yes::

Goodnight everyone :wave2:

Lina is supposed to go to the shore with some friends(she's waiting for them to call her back), Hazel has a funeral to attend around noon. It's so sad, friends on Hazel's side of the family had an 18 year old daughter that died of a drug overdose the other day. The girl had recently come out of rehab, was doing good, then went out with her so-called boyfriend and she died that night.

Andy,

Sorry, I didn't read this until now. Sorry to hear about your friends daughter. That has to be awful. Did she just graduate?

Night Cass.

Let me know how the movie was. Suz wanted to see it. I'm sure I'll sit through it with her.

We watched August Rush this weekend. That was pretty good.

Nope, not yet :scared: Might get some rain tomorrow though, that should help but then back to 33º on Wednesday

Hopefully you have some nice weather for your nation's celebration and you get to see all those cool fireworks!!! :goodvibes (Wish I could join you all!)

We very much want to check out the ruins some day on a trip to Mexico ... if we ever make it there. I think it would be fascinating.

Cove Cafe is a nice place to hang out, too! :thumbsup2

The ruins were so neat to see....we also got to climb the pyramid. Our guide said it was the last year they were allowing tourists to climb it, but I'm not sure if that's the case. I wish I could post pics, but that was pre-digital camera days....

Iberostar is a nice chain of all-inclusives, and they have several near Cancun and the Playa del Carmen area.

We actually passed on the Chicken and Pizza Ruins (sorry, old joke from my former BIL). Instead, we went to Coba (not Cabo, Coba). It is out in the jungle almost due west of Playa. It was much less uncovered, but cool nonetheless. If you want to see all the stuff uncovered, then I would not go there. I also didn't want 2 hours on a bus to Chitzen Itsa (sp?).

I must have missed that post too! That's horrible Andy, sorry to hear that! That must be heartbreaking for a parent to watch their child go through that only to have their life end because of it :sad2:

Night Cass.

We watched August Rush this weekend. That was pretty good.

I will let you know! I loved August Rush, great feel-good movie ::yes::

Ok, I am gone now for real ;)

33*?! If it rains at 33* it will be snow. Oh wait, you mean C, not F. :rotfl2:

Suppose to be a great 4th down here. Upper 70's and sunny. Just a lot of mosquitos.

If you can get a cheap flight to Chicago, come on down. It's not far from us. :thumbsup2

Bye then, for real. :rotfl2:

Lessee, no Palo for Chuck and I although I still think I have a date with Scott for brunch. :cutie: Castaway Cay might see us trying parasailing. The kids want to do that too. :woohoo:

So far Tony and Stacy are cruising with the BOB’s. Kristin and Jesse are playing with the idea of moving this cruise up to December 6th this year and using it as their honeymoon instead of cruising with us. They aren’t sure yet. So....if all 4 kids are BOBs we will probably just let them pick the excursions on St’s Martin and Thomas. If it ends up just Chuck and I, then we’ll want to do some kind of tour on St Martin. Something that involves both water and land. Either way I gotta get me some of those Guavaberry smoothies. On St Thomas, we might take the trek over to St John since we’ve never been there. If it’s just Tony and Stacy with us, they’ll want to get over to St Johns too but I’m not sure about St M.

YIKES! That sounds so confusing.

Hey, I'll give you and Chuck the same offer I gave AFEG for the Repo. Go to dinner with us and I will guarantee you a good meal. I won't let you have them push the fancy stuff on you. If you don't enjoy it, I will cover the service charge. :thumbsup2
