I've never eaten at Olivia's so I can't give you any personal advice at all.

You should post a question over in the restaurant forum, Andy. I'm sure there are plenty of people who've eaten at Olivia's who can give you some input. I love the restaurant boards - a very helpful, informative, fun group of food weirdos! :lmao:

Thanks Bendy!!! :thumbsup2

OK, I want to run down to the post office real quick before Hazel has to leave for the funeral, be back later guys.......:wave2:

I'm the same way, Brenda - I need a mix of relaxation and activity. When we went to Mexico w/ Pete's family, Pete and I did an excursion over to Chitzen-itza (sp?) and it was one of the highlights of the trip. Most of the trip was hanging out at the beach at the resort, and I've never read so many books on vacation in my life because I needed something to keep myself occupied!

Last year's cruise was a nice mix, but I think I might have needed more relaxation. Part of me is hoping that the shows haven't changed, because then we can skip the ones we've seen and explore the ship some more...or just hang out at Quiet Cove some more....

We very much want to check out the ruins some day on a trip to Mexico ... if we ever make it there. I think it would be fascinating.

Cove Cafe is a nice place to hang out, too! :thumbsup2

The ruins were so neat to see....we also got to climb the pyramid. Our guide said it was the last year they were allowing tourists to climb it, but I'm not sure if that's the case. I wish I could post pics, but that was pre-digital camera days....

Iberostar is a nice chain of all-inclusives, and they have several near Cancun and the Playa del Carmen area.

Bug-Eyed Bendy here ... the lump and the swelling have finally gone down. Now it just looks like Jay gave me a black eye. :lmao:

I shouldn't joke about that - it's not really funny, but he said it before he left this morning. It looks like I lost a fight with someone.

And Nancy, this is one picture no one wants to see, trust me. :rotfl:

Thanks for follow up!

Hope everyone has a good Monday ... it's going to be another busy one at work but at least I can work closer to home today. :thumbsup2

Poor Bendy  I'm glad that the swelling has gone down, hopefully the bruising goes away soon!

I say "well" a lot, don't I?

I say "ok" a lot  I think we all have those little words :rolleyes1 I remember when we took our first trip to WDW together in 1999, when we got home and watched the video...omg, I wish I had a buck for every time I said "Here we are..." :lmao:

Jay and I need a mix of relaxation and activity or we start to get stir-crazy. That's one reason why we can't just do a vacation where all there is to do is hang out on the beach ... it would drive us both more nuts than we already are. :rotfl:

I feel the same way. I don't understand people who go to Mexico or wherever and just hang on the beach for the week, I couldn't do it :sad2: I would go mad!! ::yes::

Normally I like to plan activities for us but we will have Kira with us so it looks like a few hours on the beach in St Maarten and then I would love to go to Trunk Bay on St John. We will have to book those on our own though since Disney doesn't do excursions for under 5 :confused3

Ehhck...it's 9 AM and already 20ºC :scared: Better go for our walk now before it reaches 30º!!! :headache:

Even though I should be working ... ;)

I just realized that this time next year we will all be talking about our upcoming on-line booking dates for excursions and other good things like that!

Just for fun, what are you all planning on doing on the ship or in port?

I'll start:

Jay and will book all the dining options at Palo because we love eating there!

We will book the naughty mud room because that's a cruise tradition for us. ;) We are also talking about booking one of the spa suites but that's going to depend on our budget next year and whether or not we'd just rather have a cabana massage again on Castaway Cay ... that was a pretty good experience and a great way to end the cruise!

We've parasailed twice at Castaway Cay, so I'm not sure yet if we'll do it again ... just depends on the mood we're in once it's time to book I suppose.

As for shore excursions ... we're up in the air about St. Martin - we really want to get to the French side of the island and check that out but we also want to spend some time in the water (they have gorgeous water there). And of course there is the J&B Guavaberry Expeditionary Force to consider! :lmao:

I think that we will try to get over to St. John when we're docked in St. Thomas - Jay would love to snorkel there and I would love to let him. :thumbsup2

That's all I can come up with for now. :goodvibes

Lessee, no Palo for Chuck and I although I still think I have a date with Scott for brunch. :cutie: Castaway Cay might see us trying parasailing. The kids want to do that too. :woohoo:

So far Tony and Stacy are cruising with the BOB’s. Kristin and Jesse are playing with the idea of moving this cruise up to December 6th this year and using it as their honeymoon instead of cruising with us. They aren’t sure yet. So....if all 4 kids are BOBs we will probably just let them pick the excursions on St’s Martin and Thomas. If it ends up just Chuck and I, then we’ll want to do some kind of tour on St Martin. Something that involves both water and land. Either way I gotta get me some of those Guavaberry smoothies. On St Thomas, we might take the trek over to St John since we’ve never been there. If it’s just Tony and Stacy with us, they’ll want to get over to St Johns too but I’m not sure about St M.

YIKES! That sounds so confusing.

We'll be looking for family friendly beaches at both stops.

BTW - poor DS is now peeling from his sunburn, and we just got the field trip schedule for July....another trip to the pool on Wednesday! Glad I got him the "swim shirt"....I don't want him to get burned and be miserable over the July 4th weekend...

Other things we were thinking of doing onboard that we can't book until we're on the ship:

Martini tasting (again!)
Galley Tour (if offered)
Rainforest passes (the lizard queen needs a hot, flat rock)
One of the adult entertainment classes (never have made it to any of these yet)

I'd love to do a different kind of tasting if they offer one, but we've done the wine class before and the beer tasting is stuff that we've had here at home so we have no interest in doing that.

I think a tequila tasting or a rum tasting could be fun and informative. :thumbsup2

And some things we think we're skipping ...

The character breakfast
The dessert buffet
The Pirate Party

Every show ... :lmao:

My mom did a dessert class she said was really good...I'd like to see if they offer it again.

I think a galley tour would be interesting - I have NO IDEA how they manage to feed us all! I've cooked a nice dinner for 14 and that takes weeks of pre-planning...:lmao:

We didn't get to do half the things on the ship, which is why we're glad to be going on an Eastern this time (one extra sea day)....

I did not lounge on the deck 4 chairs once....this must be corrected. :)

I looked at the dessert buffet (just to see it), but I was still too full from dinner to eat anything...and we had the earliest early dining time!

We'll still go to the character breakfast (munchkin won't let us miss that!) and the Pirate Party, but we'll skip shows we've already seen to do something else.

Jen, those Deck-4 chairs are awesome! Jay and I like to go out there in the evenings when everyone else is at a show or hanging in the clubs and just watch the sea go by.

It's really beautiful when the moon is out. There was a full moon when we sailed in 2005 and I'll never forget how the moon looked reflected in the ocean ... it was like watching a giant pearl shimmer in black water. Gorgeous!

And romantic, too because there was almost no one out there with us. :goodvibes

Hazel and I have seen most of the shows several times, but we still enjoy going back to see them each time we are on the ship, we're funny that way..........:lmao:

Sounds wonderful....why, oh why does it have to be 16 months away!!!

Oh well, I do have some other vacations coming up....20 days until Door County WI, in fact! We have a beach day planned, wine tasting, and some other fun stuff....:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
