Heather / all UK people - dont know if any of you are interested, but I had an offer through the post off the Sun newspaper. www.thesun.co.uk/photos - its for a free 26 page photo booklet. You just upload your photos - they will arrange them and the booklet is free - just £3.80 p&p. To get it for free just enter freebooklet in at the checkout. No idea of the quality but:confused3

I've been on ebay for the last 2 hours - I sold most of my items:yay:

Ellis is rich! - Its going in his florida fund for xmas towards his spending money.:thumbsup2

Good work Karen.

The next batch of stuff will be harder to sell - hundreds of bits of playmobil.
I have to assemble it all first - all the buildings and little people and accessories. I'll have to do it while he's out or he'll start playing with it all and want to keep it again:rotfl:

And you know you'll have fun.

Our livingroom now looks like a soda warehouse.........:rotfl2: I know we have too much soda, iced tea and water, but I know it won't go to waste in this house!!!

Getting ready to take Lina to yet another grad party. I'm glad these kids decided not to exchange $$ gifts with each other. That would have cost me another fortune, especially since Lina still isn't working yet.

Hazel and I are now working on the food order for Lina's party. For those who have given parties, do you think 4oz. of meat per person is a good amount to plan on? We are thinking of ordering 25 lbs. of lunchmeat (10 lbs. ham, 10 lbs. turkey breast, 5 lbs. roast beef) and 10 lbs. of American cheese for 100 people, what do you experts think? Of course some of the people on the list are small children, and won't eat much.

Andy, for what it's worth Jay and I subscribe to the theory that it's always better to have too much food rather than not enough. You can always send leftovers home with people ... that's what we do. :goodvibes

I do agree. However I think girls take it out on girls and guys take it out of girls. So somewhere the girls keep getting hurt. Scott and I saw that movie when it first came out and he was in shock. He asked if that really is how it works. I just looked at him and said yes when I was back in school. I can only imagine that it is worse now. So of course we got Kelsey to watch it before she went into junior high. Boy she has confirmed that it is a whole lot worse now then when I was in school.

You have it right: the girls go after each other out of jealousy or spite. Unfortunately, it is no longer just high school. My neighbor's 10 year old (4th grade) daughter has been the victim of a trio of "mean girls" this year. I had already expected it to start in middle school (6th - 8th grade... a new concept for me!) but 4th grade????:scared1:

  for Lina! Boys in HS are just still immature. It's easy to be swayed by rumors instead of trying to get to the truth. But, that's not a good reason to break a heart!

Is three going to be a charm???

YES!!!

Here is the link to some pictures I posted on the food porn thread from my nephie's wedding last weekend. The professional pictures should be along in another week or so. Thanks for taking a look see!! :goodvibes

Dylan's Wedding

It's Saint Francis Xavier Church, located on the St. Louis Univeristy campus. The only way someone can get married here is if they or a member of their family are alum. Jen graduated from SLU in 2006, so she pretty much had the church wrapped up. It's gorgeous.

Ok Carrie I have to correct you on this one, it is the Grand Californian Hotel, although it is very similar to the Wilderness lodge in Fl so I can see why you got confused with the name. My friend and I stayed there in May and had a DCA view, this was the view from our room:

Loved the view, we could see the Napa Rose from our room, but haven't ate there. I thought about it in August but Sean and I figured that it was a bit expensive on top of the cruise. Samantha Brown had a Disney special and she said it was one of her favorite places to eat at.

Absolutely great pictures! I'd love that view. We stayed there for 1 night a few years ago, but I don't remember what view we had. I loved being able to go straight out the door and into the park, though!

Thanks!

Wow! That's very nice for a University church! It is gorgeous for a wedding, and in high demand I am sure!

It looks like our date night might be a no go. :( Why is it impossible for us to get date nights. :confused3 The people that were supposed to watch Mackenzie for us were camping all weekend. But they said they would be back by noon so they could watch her around 4:30. I really thought nothing of it since the past few times they have gone they are back by noon. Well it is now 2:30 and they are not home yet. I was going to start getting ready at 3:45. I don't want to waste my time doing my hair and make up if they are not coming home.

I had to do some catching up! Last night I came home from work just in time for a thunderstorm! I was on the phone with my daughter (who's in Las Vegas at Grandmom's house) when a very bright lightning flash hit. The power was out... but only for about 30 seconds. Enough that my cordless phone disconnected, of course. I called back but stayed off the computer and TV for awhile. I kept hearing thunder and didn't want to risk it.

I hope everyone has had a good Sunday. Matthew got home this morning on a red-eye flight... then worked all day! He conked out for awhile, but I think I heard him rummaging for food.

I hope it works out for you! I understand the frustration. Matthew and I rarely get a date night. Our time now with the kids away is slated for a major cleaning (decluttering mostly!) of the house.

I have to share something funny with you guys ...

Remember how I mentioned that my parents went to Germany for 10 days? They got back last week a couple of days before my nephew's wedding.

Today they stopped by our house to give us some gifts they picked up for us while they were traveling, which was very thoughtful of them.

They picked out four really cool Hard Rock Cafe pins for Jason's collection - two from Munich and two from Heidelberg.

Then they brought us two t-shirts from the Heidelberg HRC ... the only problems is that they are children's XLs! There's no way on god's green earth that either one of us could fit into them. :rotfl2:

But wait... I've saved the best for last!

My mom gave me a very pretty lacquer music box ... after I pulled it out of the wrapping I flipped it to see what song it plays and there's a huge sticker on the bottom that reads: MADE IN ITALY!!!

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

She went all the way to Germany to bring back an Italian made music box ...

They mean well, but I'm starting to think I need to take away their buying privileges along with their drivers licenses. :rotfl:

:lmao: Too funny, B. Nice of them to remember the pins, though.

I totally agree with Bendy Girl.:thumbsup2

Brenda--I loved the wedding pictures. They are a cute couple, and her dress was beautiful. Now to what I noticed right away----I love your hair! This is such a good cut on you, sistah! Gorgeous!!:smokin:

I totally agree - I'm glad they remembered Jay's pins (and didn't bring him a bar of toberlone). ;)

They are very cute together and her dress was a dream ... :goodvibes

Thanks for the kind words on the hair ... I think it looks better shorter and lighter (I've had it highlighted three times this year so far).

My parents got Mackenzie this tooth fairy kit this week. It has a book that is a story about the tooth fairy, a chart for you to mark of which teeth on which date fall and and grow in. Then there is a pouch for the tooth and a little light to set next to your bed and turn on when the tooth is under the pillow. The thing is so cute but now Mac has been upset everyday that she does not have a lose tooth. Poor thing.
