Just came back from Walgreens ... the pharmacist took one look at me and told me try Zyrtec because it's stronger than Benadryl. He was like, "Wow ... something really did get you."

He wasn't even that close to me when he said it! :lmao:

The best part is that Jay's family is having a family reunion this 4th of July weekend and we're supposed to have a family portrait ... I'm gonna ruin it again! :rotfl:

How about 800 mg Motrin to help with the swelling? Ice packs also.

I've been taking 3 advil (prescription strength) and I was putting ice on it last night. I haven't yet today ... my bad.

Brenda--do you know about a beer tasting at Big River Grille?

I know that they offer a beer flight, similar to what they offer at Raglan Road. We ate at Big River once about five years ago. It was OK - I didn't think the food or the beer was much to right home about. For what it's worth, if you're looking for a beery type place I'd recommend Raglan Road or even the Rose and Crown in Epcot.

Just my other two cents. :goodvibes

Thanks for the 2 cents.:thumbsup2 I was looking at the booze porn thread and someone had posted a pic of a beer flight and said it was $5......:worship:

It was just a piece of info that I was putting in the back of my mind for our upcoming trip..........

Based on where you're staying for this trip I think you're better off trying Raglan Road - they have two beer flights (both are quite tasty .. we've had 'em both!) and three or four whiskey/whisky flights.

Try the Celtic Sangria if you do get to stop at RR - it's my favorite way to start the evening! :thumbsup2

BTW - are you sure you don't want the gift card I picked up a few weeks back?

Paige, I checked the most recent menu for Big River ... on All Ears it was updated in February 2008 and while it doesn't list the beer flight specifically there are 6 different brews listed on their menu.

And just as an FYI ... Big River doesn't accept ADRs.

:lmao:

No, but if the redness and swelling aren't cleared up by Saturday Jay's mom may have to pay extra for some photo touch-up. :rotfl:

It's pretty ugly right now, but feels much better after I popped that antihistamine.

Subconsciously I'm sure I did something to make that little critter bite me so that I could ruin the picture in some way. I'm a real cow like that.

Maybe I'll bring them some Toblerone to make up for it? ;)

Well, it's hard to describe but it's an interactive stage show ...

The premise is that you are among a group of new members joining a 1930s explorer's club. The "show" takes place during the evening in different areas of the club - the mask room, the treasure room, the main room with the bar, and the library where they have live musical performances. The original club members wander about during the evening and draw audience members into the action. It's a lot of word-play and deadpan type stuff ... people seem to either love it or hate it.

Jay wore his Tobasco polo there the last time we went and the club president christened him "Festive Print-Shirt Boy" for the rest of the night so every time an actual cast member saw him that's what they called him. :lmao:

You get to take the oath of membership and learn the secret handshake. Kungaloosh is both the signature drink of the club as well as the greeting of club members.

It really is a ton of fun if you like that kind of thing. If you guys get a chance to check it out next month you really should - it's a truly unique experience and it's a real shame that WDW is going to dump it. :sad1:

EDITED TO ADD: You don't have to stay all evening to be part of the action or to understand what's happening. It's all very fluid. And I'm pretty sure that kids are allowed from 7PM to at least 9PM, and maybe as late as 10PM.

To add to this....we stayed all night as there was a different show in the library each 30 mins.

You're so nice to offer your card, but I couldn't think of taking it from you.

Thanks for the info. I really never read anything about BRG, so I have to wonder if it's any good anyway.

Well, we'll definitely try it next month. We may even leave the kids at the resort.:thumbsup2

Its a must. We went with a friend of ours (her name is Marion) and for the whole evening he cast called out to her.....Mary-on with a posh brit accent!

Too funny! :lmao:

I'm so bummed that we won't get to visit one last time.

Good Evening everyone

Both are so beautiful,

love to see the photo of decorations, cake and foods.

We really did, once the party got started!!! :rotfl:

I'm not going to dwell on the negatives, but we did have a few before the party started. Had a minor problem when I went to pick up the salads, we were supposed to have 7lbs of mac salad and were only given 5lbs. So while I waited for the girl to scoop in the other 2lbs of mac salad, I ordered 5lbs of Cole Slaw for the party. I must say, everyone raved about the salads. We knew they were good, because that's where Hazel and I always get our salads for here at the house.

Next stop, Party City. The balloons were supposed to be ready by 2:30pm, I arrived at 2:45 and not one of our 40 balloons had been filled. The girl behind the counter had misplaced our order, after about ten minutes of searching, our bag with the balloons was found. Three people started working on our order and in about 10 minutes time, all 40 balloons were filled. I was only able to fit 30 balloons in our car, so I had to take them to the hall, a 20 minute drive, drop those balloon off, then go back to the store for the remaining 10 balloons.

By the time I got back with the balloons, most of the decorating had been completed by Hazel and two of her sisters. One thing did trouble me though. We were told they were enough tables to seat 80 people, the only trouble was, the hall only had 60 chairs. If we had known this ahead of time, we could have rented some chairs from our local Y-By.

After the salads and balloon were delivered, I went home and started loading up the car with the coolers filled of soda. Again, I had to make two trips to get the coolers and soda to the hall. This drive was only 2 minutes, so that wasn't bad at all.

After that was done, I came home got a shower and got dressed, then called our local pizza place and ordered 2 party size pizzas. Hazel reminded me that we had several vegetarians(sp) coming to the party and we needed something different for them to eat. The pizza was also a big hit with the kids and some of the other adults as well.

We had 12 dozen rolls and only used about 6 dozen rolls. The remaining rolls and lunchmeat were divided among whoever wanted it. We also only went through about 1/2 the lunchmeat and cheese, but most of the salads were eaten.

Everyone that I talked too on their way out said they had a good time, and enjoyed the food, which made me very happy!!! :goodvibes

Like I said last night, even with the few glitches we had it all turned out nice. At the end of the party, as we were finishing cleaning up, Lina came up to me, gave me a great big hug, told me she had a great time, gave me a kiss on the cheek and said thanks. That was my best part of the night!!! :goodvibes

I took a couple of "dad minutes" during the cleaning up time and went outside with two balloons. I kissed each balloon and released them into the air. These balloons were in rememberance of our two angels who are always looking down on us. Sorry, the tears are flowing and I can't see the letters on my keyboard, so I'm going to close for now.
