Good luck today, Andy! Have fun!

Thanks Bendy!!! Just arrived back home from another run. This time it was to take Lina to Old Navy for the $1.00 Flip-Flop sale. She was able to find 4 different colors in her size. Her feet are so small, she has to go to the kids department to get her flip-flops. Lina is in a kids 3/4.......

Just as I turned the corner to get to our house I saw a line of traffic like you wouldn't believe. The parade I told y'all about is lining up and the end of the parade line is almost to the front of our house. I had just enough room to get our car in our driveway, good thing I don't have anymore errands to run until this afternoon!!! :thumbsup2

I saw that last night - 9/27/08 is the last date that the Pleasure Island clubs will be open. After that Disney plans to turn it into some sort of annoying hyper-mega-global-compu-shopping-net so that it can be even more family friendly while enticing people to part with more money.

I don't disagree that PI needs a makeover, but as adults who don't have kids (but who often act like kids) it was nice to have someplace to go where we didn't have to worry about the stroller crowd. Is that really too much to ask?

And we loved the AC ... it was so much fun and so unique. They even allowed kids there until 9PM most evenings.

Sad ... bums us out because we'll be at WDW 10/08 and we're staying at SSR this time so we were planning on several AC visits. Guess we'll just have to keep hanging out at Raglan Road instead.

Yeah I agree with you Brenda! Adults need a place to go without the kiddies!

I think they need to make all the clubs more like AC and get rid of the plain dance clubs. Get some cool themed clubs or something! ::yes::

"Joanne"

Thanks, I hope the party goes well today.

Well, it appears that my birthday wish to Joanne was lost yesterday, so let's try it again.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOANNE"

Thanks, my friends are really enjoying this black balloon thing. Every one at work wore black today. My bunko group alos got into it. I now have 1/2 a cake in the kitchen and there are no kids here. Gotta get back on the diet!!!!

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes. I am off to the grocery store and then if the weather cooperated some pool time.

This clock thing makes for interesting reading. I first thought I was going crazy.

We were never pleasure island people. Paying to get in made me crazy after paying so much for everything else.

This is the future-Bendy responding ... :lmao:

Interactive clubs like the AC would be a hoot. :thumbsup2

And considering that PI was the only child-free zone in all of WDW property with the exception of Jelly Rolls, I don't see how the complaints of it being family unfriendly hold water.

The funny thing to me is that City Walk over at Universal is the same concept as PI - they were just copying off of Disney - and it does exceptionally well and families still visit there and still vacation on Universal property.

Just gives us more incentive to plan another trip to USO. They have some realy good restaurants over there and some good music spots. :thumbsup2

After going to Dl & WDW in the last month the differences really stick out. Just the price of things- water & soda $2.00 in WDW and 2.75 in DL. Mickey bars same thing 75 cents more. It's really weird. I guess since gas is so much more in LA 4.71 compared to 3.83 in WDW makes the difference in everything.

Having a lovely day so far..

we went to Shrugborough hall today - sort of statley home thingy - it had a gardeners weekend show on. I bought loads of lovely new BIG plants:yay: - just need more pots and "dirt" to plant them in now:rolleyes1

Ellis had fun, he did juggling and played with diablos in the circus entertainer tent, made a clay bowl in the pottery tent, decorated a pot and planted in a plant in the gardeners tent, nad spent a load of our money on ice creams etc.

We then went clothes shopping for Neil - he got new shoes and a new shirt - he's wearing them tonight on our "date":cutie:

Now we're back home playing mario kart and we have yet another new game -big beach games (or something like that.) to try later.

Need to go out and buy some paint now for the three bathrooms - thats my next DIY project for next week.

Have a lovely weekend everybody:goodvibes

My "Little Hay Hay" keeps life interesting around here that's for sure. She comes home from the grocery store the other day and says to me, "Doesn't this "kah-june" rice look good?" To which I reply, "That's CAJUN(kay-jen) rice and it is very spicy, I won't be eating any of it." :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Guess that "kah-june"   rice is going back to the store..........::yes:: ::yes:: ::yes::

Found this on the D.S thread....

The Adventurer's Club (and most all of PI) is closing in September!!!!!

Beth and I used to go to PI BK (Before Kids). We haven't been for many years. It always seems to me that the majority of people there are locals. Is it possible that most of their attendees were AP holders and that minimized their tickets revenues? PLus, I would speculate that locals tend to spend less per visit than people on vacation. I sure would. On the other hand, we have done DisneyQuest more in the past few visits.

Any other thoughts or different opinions? :duck:

We loved AD and the Comedy Club, but haven't been for a few years. Shame it's closing - Kongaloosh!

We have never been to PI. We spend all the time with the kids, by the time the parks close we are pooped. Usually some pool time and then sleep.... So we won't miss it. Have been to the west side a few times but we are not shoppers. Did Circ de soleil once that was really fun.

I apparently got bit by something last night while I was sleeping ... woke up this morning with swelling and a bump under my right eye. Took some advil and covered the bump with neosporin ... now it's itching and burning and I've got new swelling ...

I've never had this happen before ... not sure what to do to tell you the truth. Seems like a stupid reason to go to the ER. :confused3

Maybe I'll just have a drink instead ... :rotfl2:
