Carrie--congrats on DIS post #5000!!!

:wave:Good Morning Everyone:wave:

well, i was offered a job teaching full time for a well known online university (I have been teaching for them part time for two years now)!!! I've applied for this job several times and never made it past the written interview stage until last month!

I have had two phone interview in the last three weeks, my references were contacted on Friday and yesterday morning. Then late afternoon yesterday I was called an offered the position!

I'm so excited! The biggest reason for looking for a telecommuting job is so that I could be involved in my kids lives more during the day. For the last three years I've worked all day, come home to the kids but only have been able to be involved in dinner and bedtime. I missed them so much!

So this is a step up in my career and I'll be at home! I'll have to travel to Arizona (expenses paid) every July for graduation, but it really sounds like a great job! I start July 1st.

My boss is leaving for a conference today so I had to call him at home last night and tell him. That was NOT easy at all! He's such a great guy and has been so flexible and understanding with me since I had Amelia three years ago. Great person overall it is going to be sad to leave him and King's. They're like second family to me. I love that college.

SO after speakign with him and telling him it is mainly me wanting to be with the kids more that fueled my looking elsewhere (King's doesn't have a flex time policy) rather than the job, the pay or the people he wants to try and work something out with HR. He thinks if I'm willing, that he is going to push to get them to develop a flex time policy so I can stay. He doesn't want me to go.

So now I'm confused!!!

I would be sooooo flattered Mel. Confused, but flattered. I hope King's works out for you since you love it so much. Here's a few    and some of that "Dust Stuff" pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: too.

Okay, now that we have moved and have lots of posts available ;) I'm asking another quizzy question:

What is everyone's favorite Disney Cruise memory??

My favorite memory....hmmmmm, there's just so many. One of my favorites would be watching the video of our adult kids seeing the ship for the first time when they drove over the bridge. Chuck and I were in a separate car so we didn't get to see it first hand, but Kristin was recording it from their car. Just to hear what they had to say and the looks on their faces was priceless.:cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9:

That is great that you got the job. If you don't mind me asking which college is it. We live in AZ. Sometime when you are out if you have time would could do a mini meet.

Good Morning Everyone

It must be going around. I woke up early from just tossing and turning. Then poor Scott started snoring so going back to sleep was out of the question for me. So I ended up getting up at 4:15 instead of 5:10. I really could have used that hour. As I am not feeling all that well today.

I am hoping for a full 8 again today. That is what I am schedualed to do but they are so payroll happy right nowt that they keep sending people home. I really can not afford to be sent home, I only work three days this week as it is.

Thank you Andy I was not even paying attention. What a great way to start off my day.

You're welcome, I just happened to look over and spotted it as I was reading one of your post.

Good morning all,

The resort business is not doing so well in this economy either.

Andy- Good luck today and remember family is a blessing, ever when we don't feel it.

Mel- good luck with your decision- you have to do what is best for your family. The career can wait until the little ones are grown..

Have a happy tuesday all.

I will add to the rest of you non sleepers. DS # 1 spent all night trying to convince me how safe Australia and New Zeland are. I guess I have a month of sleepless nights ahead of me. I have to take him to the airport this morning.

Today is my last day of work, way too much to do.

Dust Stuff and Huggs to all my BOBer friends!!!

Captain Thord follows the DISboards and he happened to find out that Hazel and I were on that sailing celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. When we arrived back to our cabin after spending the day at CC there was a message on our phone with a special invitation to meet Captain Thord on the bridge as we sailed away later that afternoon. It came as a shock and complete surprise to both of us, and we never expected to be able to blow the horn as we sailed away. It was a MAGICal moment to be sure!!! :goodvibes

:yay: You actually go to blow the horn!:yay: - you lucky thing:yay:

Maybe I'll just have to mention that its mine and Neils 50th Wedding anniversary whislt onboard;) :rolleyes1 (we just look good for our age:lmao: )

I have an extra DCL poster that I bought off of eBay last year. (Andy, it doesn't appear to be the one Tuna sat on either:confused3 ). It's suitable for framing but it does have a few slight creases in it.

Does anyone want it???

FREE to a good home................

I didnt get to the gym today - I just couldnt be bothered. I've run lots of errands, did all the ironing and cleaned the house instead.

Slimfast bar for brekkie and shake for lunch:thumbsup2

Baked potatoes for dinner with a curry sauce (not good for me but I'll only have a bit.)
