As for Rob being gone for two weeks--it's not so bad. He is safe, so I am happy. There are so many in harm's way these days that I don't mind going for a while without Rob--besides, I don't have to cook supper...

Thanks. Her shoulders are looking a bit better this morning. Yesterday it was freaking me out a little because of the size and concentration of the blisters. I was planning to take her to the pediatrician today, but my DW (nurse) talked to a doctor at work. He said to apply neosporin and keep the area clean. Not too much else to do. Thankfully the sunburn isn't worse.

Matthew - I got a sunburn like that once in college, all across the back of my shoulders. It did hurt, but it healed well.

On the cruise you will all see me dousing myself with SPF 60+...as high as I can find!

Hello Disgrits! I work at Dulles Airport. Our USO club is fairly new. It's pretty nice though. Many of the companies working on the massive Dulles construction donated craftsmen and materials to help build the club. My family lives in Bristow just south of Manassas.

I take the 66 route to work. Not too bad at the time of day that I drive.

I'm home today taking care of DD 8 who got a real bad sunburn at Castaway Cay on Saturday. Her shoulders bubbled up and blistered. I swear, we put SPF 50 on her! Obviously not often enough though. I escaped the worst of it by wearing a t-shirt and hat all day.

This reminds me of when we were teens and we'd bake in the sun with cooking oil on our skin and peel it off a week later. How could we be so stupid? It itched so much that peeling it off was the only way to get relief. I now use sunscreen and my children so to, but yesterday, Derek got a sunburn at the pool (shoulders). It's not too bad, but it is burnt nonetheless. Unfortunately, this usualy happens at the beginning of the summer then I am snapped back to reality and start being more diligent about applying the sunscreen.

Don't even get me started on sunscreen. You may see MG up on her soapbox for quite sometime.

We are just there for the week end. Mom & Sis fly to Ca on Monday.

Joanne, please forgive me if this a repeat question.. I think I asked and you answered but my memory is not so good. Is your DH in the Navy?

Dh was in the Air Force for 25 years. He retired in 99 and works on base as a contractor now. Our neighbor hood is all military or retired military so holidays are very meaning full and fun.

Thanks to everyone for the welcomes. I need to get a hosting site and I can post some of my better pictures from the Wonder cruise that we just got off and the Med Cruise last year. The one pic of the Disney Wonder is hosted by a friend of mine on my last cruise thread. Is there a point at which you can post attachments directly without a link? Under my posting rules it says that I Cannot post attachments (but I can link to them).

I'm Matthew, DW is Beth, DD 10 is Megan, and DD 8 is Sarah.

I love the castle pics. We have been to the UK twice and spent one day at Warwick Castle. I'm the familiy genealogist, we came from Somersetshire. I'd love to take a castle touring trip back to England at some point.

When my DD and I saw the B.O.B. thread we thought it was our slogan for this past cruise. For us, B.O.B. was "Back On the Boat". When we were in Barcelona last year at the end of the cruise we came across a DCL Shore Excursion group. I told my two daughters that we just needed to blend into the crowd and we were Back On the Boat! It was Sarah who pointed out that it wouldn't be fair because someone else wouldn't have a room then! Oh well...

I guess I need to set up my signature properly with a B.O.B. logo.

Thanks. My daughters will be turning 10 and 12 while on the cruise. It will be our 3rd cruise. We sailed on the Magic in the Med last year, and just finished a 3 night Wonder cruise on Sunday.

I have nothing creative or witty to say for #10,000. However, I feel like I can't post until I have something to like that to say.

Maybe I should just post a few times on another thread so it will just go unnoticed here.

Maybe I should just treat as every other post I do and make it just another normal post (kinda like my b-day is just another day).

Or maybe I should just state that it is my 10,000th post and have no fan-fare.

Maybe just a reflection of my almost 4 1/2 years on the DIS that has gotten me to the 10,000th post.

I remember coming on here green back in Feb 2004. We had just gotten back from Ocho Rios, Jamaica and booked our cruise (we sat on the beach every day that week watching the ships come in and how much fun it looked like they were having when they sailed away. DCL was NOT one of them. Suz and I said we should look into a cruise some time and I told her Disney had a cruise ship and she said to look into it). Didn't know anything, but started Googling Disney and the DIS came up.

Got hooked on that cruise thread (Jan '05 - Eastern). Didn't really meet up with people because we were still shy.

I did not get involved with my Oct '05 - 3-nt Wonder thread at all. Those threads (3-nighters) never seem to go anywhere.

We then got involved with the Jan '06 - Eastern. That was a great group of people. We had a good time on with that group. (not sure how many posts I had over there, but it was a lot)

Next was our Jan '07 - Western. I was already involved with the Oct '07 - Western (the famous Konked Kruisers), so I didn't post much on that thread either.

Then it was the great Oct '07 - Western with the best cruisers ever. What a blast we had. (had well over 4,000 posts on that thread)

Up next is the Aug '08 - EB Repo, but I think you all know how I feel about that one, so we won't comment there. Spent a few posts over there (almost 1,000).

And up after that will be the Oct '09 - Western (given we don't slip a 3-nighter in next March ). This cruise I think will top all the cruises for the group of DISers on board. I think that cruise (this thread) will be the best and very hard to be beat (unless we go on yet another reunion cruise ). (over 4,000 posts on all the BOB threads combined)

So, that is a little history of my DIS experience through my 10,000 posts. Sorry to bore all of you, but I figured I couldn't just put up
