Neil would NOT let go of Ellis when we were at the top:rotfl: - he used his hoodie like reins:rotfl: I think he said "get away from that esdge" million times in 10 minutes! You can see from his expression he was kinda tense!

Ok, the castle photos are over - heres one of the glorious turquoise sea:lmao:

I want to see Indiana Jones!

Yes, I want to see it as well. Just got round to seeing National Treasure 2 at the weekend. It was watchable, but not as good as #1.

Ellis had his very first go at archery - he was great at it! He was competing against 14 and 18 year olds. You can see the one tall girl in the background.

We are seeing the Indiana Jones movie on Sat. :yay: The radiologists at work are no longer going to have a Christmas party for us, instead they are going to plan a few things for us throughout the year, the first of which is the movie for employees and their families on Sat. I am really looking forward to seeing it!

That sound good.

Night Heather.

Yep, back to work tomorrow. Good thing it is only 4 days this week.

Three days for me. I have wedding flowers to do on Friday, so up and out by 4.30am to Market to buy the flowers.:scared1:

Wow! I just thought I'd see if there was a thread for our cruise yet. I didn't expect it to be longer than the thread for the cruise I just got off! I'll never catch up. :faint:

We are fresh off the Wonder as of yesterday. We rebooked onboard for 10/24/2009. My DD 8 & DD 10 will celebrate their 10th and 12th birthdays respectively on the cruise. Same birthday, two years apart. We time things really well. :bitelip:

Our cast of characters includes the following:

DH 41 ::MickeyMo , DW 41 ::MinnieMo , DD 8 princess: DD 10 princess:

Hello everyone!

EPCOT_VA

Hiya Epcot VA - welcome. Don't worry about the length of the thread. It started just after we all got off the Magic last year. Jump in, ask questions. Loads of info on the first page. We'll pick your brains about your cruise on the Wonder.

The Wonder was our 2nd cruise. We sailed on the Magic from Barcelona last July 07/07/2007 for an 11-Night Med cruise. That was just amazing. We hadn't planned to cruise again for 2 or 3 years. We just got the bug a couple of months ago and signed on for the Wonder 3 Night. A great short getaway.

The cruise was great, but I noticed a difference in the personnel onboard. Does Disney start their new personnel on the Wonder and then the more seasoned folks go to the Magic? Everything was good, but the crew on the Magic seemed a few notches better. I got the sense that a lot of folks were just learning their job on the Wonder. Nobody did anything badly, just not as polished. I'm not sure if we even met our cabin host.

Being return cruisers, we had the benefit of knowing the ship. We knew exactly where we wanted to go and how to get there. Castaway Cay was a blast. We took our DD 8 & DD 10 up parasailing. I even took my video camera up with me. :scared1:

EPCOT_VA

Yes, I know what you mean about the cruise bug....our question is...where do we want to go and can we cruise there.:rotfl:

I still need to watch the video, but here is a still pic that I took while I was up there. My video camera can take stills while taping.

That's fantastic...what a shot! And a F.O.to boot.

Ok, now for the last lot - this is the Anderton boat lift.

It allows barges to go from one canal low down to another 50 foot higher up.
It was made in the 1800's and has been restored.

You sail in at the bottom, into a kind of box, the hydraulics lift the box up and you sail out at the top. Its really clever and doesnt take long at all. It was oriinally used to move goods such as salt which used to be mined heavily around that area - now its just for tourists.

Heres the outside of it

As we approach it
P1030821.jpg

Not sure if you can make it out, but the big steel plate thats raised will be the back wall of the box once we've driven in and the wall is lowered back into place
P1030822.jpg

The view pointing straight up - the cogs are now just decorative - it used to be raised by pullies, now its hydraulic
P1030823.jpg

You can see the hydraulic arm bringing the left hand box down as we go up
P1030825.jpg

There was another barge in that "box" too
P1030826.jpg

Here we are driving out at the top along the viaduct

Heres a view of it from the top.

ok, I'm floating around on diff cruise sites and was reading about the secret
porthole cabins. now they said the pro's out weigh the con's but they had some scary cons."make sure you're decent at all times because maintenance workers could be right outside your window at any time.:scared1:
also, adjoining rooms, you can hear pretty clearly whats going on in the next cabin. :scared1:
i dont know what wild, weird stuff you guys have planned there in those secrets cabins, but count us out.:rotfl: :rotfl2: :stir:

does make me want to look for a DCL maintenance workers outfit on eBay though.:rolleyes1 :woohoo:

It would appear some of the rumours surrounding "them" rooms my have some substance to them Sir,not for us but each to their own we say...:rolleyes1
