Can I just say how very much I am enjoying the thread about the 19-year old who whipped it out and did his business over the side of a DCL verandah?

Not that I am amused by what happened - that's disgusting (I believe the ability to reason and use indoor plumbing distinquishes the human animal from all others ... that, and the fact that we don't eat our young) - but some of the responses are really starting to get good. I'm surprised someone hasn't recommened cutting off the offending object in question.

The thing that puzzles me is that this woman said she and her family were staying in the Walt Suite but someone in the room next to them did this. I thought that the verandah for this suite was so large that you wouldn't have neighbors who could ... how shall I say this ... create golden showers in your honor.

I had only read the first page or so until this morning, and I too was amazed at some of the responses. My jaw dropped when I read the post of the person who actually looked up and posted the legal code.

Oh, and then the topic of conversation started to include "other" activities on verandahs.... I think I'll stick with my window only room - thanks!

Ok, heres the garden photos - its not finished yet because the rain stopped me.

Heres the before:

This was taken as the men were half way through cutting the trees down

I cant find any of the other photos on Photobucket

There were loads of half dead conifers and a big ash tree when we moved in, all riddled with vile ivy. The grass was half dead and covered in rabbit poo


And heres the after:

It doesnt look much, but you wont believe the roots we've had to dig up just to reach some soil

We still need to do the border along the back fence too and I have lots more plants to put in but they arent big enough yet

Looking good Karen....half expected the stone face to start talking

Checked the DCL website yesterday and we're still GTY on our cabin number...the wait is getting to me, but I wonder, the longer we wait the more chance of an upgrade perhaps?

Just kidding, but I am having DH's family (plus my mom) for the monthly family dinner on Saturday. That would be 11 adults and 3 kids for a sit down dinner at my house. The last time I had it, Pete was out of town on business, but this time he's home, and my Mom is helping out too so it should go smoothly, once I get all the cleaning done!

We book excursions on Monday 5am UK time. We are cat 11.
