I'm surprised that if you were going downtown you didn't just go to Bennihana's (sp?).

It is right on the river there across form the Performing Arts Center.

Where was the play?

It was at the Marcus Center....

My BIL picked the restaurant....maybe he couldn't get a reservation?

Either way, we had lots of fun....and lots of good food!

Seems like he goes to Yuma a lot.

My cousin sometimes flies down there on his "weekends", but they leave from the base south of Los Angeles.

DS was watching Top Gun today.

Oh we hate that movie! Tom Cruise grates my nerves.

Rob sometimes misses flying so much, but I am ok with him flying a desk and analyzing data.....safer IMHO.......

Oh we hate that movie! Tom Cruise grates my nerves.

What did/does Rob fly?

My cousin flies one of the huge transport helicopters. He also helped navigate the bombing run into Bagdad at the start of this conflict. (they went in first to give the coordinates)

He's actually at an Army base I think. Yuma Proving Grounds. His apartment is close to the USMC Air Station though, so he goes to the commissary and church there. He is working with the Army testing a vehicle. They test the vehicles and give all the data to Rob and he analyzes it all and gives them a report.....I think...much is over my head. You and Rob will get along even better this next cruise because you're both number boys.

Oh, by the way, DS watches it for the flying scenes. He asked me when in the movie they are back up in the air. Guess he doesn't like the love story part of the movie.

Sorry, don't know how to analyze numbers on vehicle tests. I think he might need to be referred to as Number Man.

F-18's but hasn't flown in about 10 years. After flying he went on and becasme a Communications officer, and now he is an Operations Analyst. I hope the experience he's getting now will get him into a good job at Disney someday.

Gotta love 8 year olds.

DS was talking military with the kids in his class. I think they were playing army men.

He was telling me after school that one of the boys said his uncle was in the Marines. Logan didn't believe him because he said "the Marines were like a hundred years ago".

I told him my father was a Marine and that Great-Uncle Bob's son Brian was currently in there. I then if he remembered Rob, the one in the uniform on the cruise. He said yes. I told him he was in the Marines too.

You'll have to PM me a picture of him in his uniform so I can show DS.
