that is until Aug 14th

Good Deal.

Then we are officially under 100 days. :cool1:

Have you planned out your excursions for the 19th (more like the night of the 18th)?

I'm thinking of going for Colombia first, followed by Cabo, Acapulco, PV, Aruba. I figure I'd go for the ones we can't do on our own first and then end with the ones we could easily do if we can't book anything.

Cheryl, is Rach counting the days down to the end of school?

DS has 16 days left.

He gets out early doesn't he? I thinks she has around 24 1/2 days left now, but she has a field trip to Chicago with choir next week to see Wicked and then one of the days in the last week of school they go to Six Flags and the 1/2 day they have their graduation breakfast so that helps to make ut seem less.

That is totally understandable. When we fly to FL the last thing on our list is hitting the parks.

So if you were me, you'd go for the more relaxing hotel.

No matter what time we get to FL, and our flight is only 2-2 1/2 hours, we never go to the parks the first day. We will have a 4 hour flight, providing the head wind isn't too bad. It could turn into a 5 - 5 1/2 hour flight (when we left Vegas in November, the flights going home were less than 3 hours, but coming out were over 4 1/2  ).

With getting up at 6:00 our time (which is 4:00 a.m. LA time), I think laying around all day will be best. Dinner by 4:00 p.m. with all the blue haired ladies. :rotfl:

I want to hit PV first since we want to zip line, then colombia, cabo, acapulco. We figure it's not a big deal losing out on cabo and acapulco, if we want to go back then we can just do one of the lines here in CA.
I'm wondering if I should hit Palo's first since the DS board is doing a lot of excursions on their own.

If you're looking for a nicer place to hang out it might be worth the extra money. I always like the extra room a suite gives over a "regular" hotel room. Do you ever look at hotel ratings on trip advisor? I use that alot to help me decide between 2 hotels. Here's some pixiedust: in hopes that you end up getting a good rate at the Disneyland Hotel! We really enjoyed staying there when we went in 2003!

We love having suites. We got spoiled in Vegas last fall at the Embassy Suites. We then booked one in GB for my Gma's b-day weekend. Love having the extra room.

I checked the Trip Advisor ratings and it is rated well, but when you look at Garden City only, it is #8 out of 14, but there are some good properties down there.

I sorted down the hotels on Hotels.com and the one we're currently booked at ranked #7 out of all the hotels (over 100) that came up. It was rated a 4.6/5.0 with 55 reviews.

Don't recall where the Marriott Suites came in.

Yes, they get out early. They were supposed to be out on the 29th, but with snow/cold days, it is now the 30th, and that is a half day.

They start after Labor Day next year, but will still get out in May. Don't know why they think they need to be out so early when the public schools go for another 2 weeks.

Since you have your son with you I would. Garden Grove bumps right up to Anaheim, it isn't that far away.
Our flight home is 7 hours with stops.

Are any of the new hotels open up at the new Garden Walk yet? That looks like a nice place.

When Rach went to the Catholic school they always got out a good week earlier than the public schools. There were some familes that had kids in both the Catholic school and the public high school and their schedules didn't coincide very often for long weekends which was very frustrating to some of those families.

Is the DS doing the Zip Line on their own? I know that was very popular over there.

The one we want in Colombia will be going quick from what I read at the 105 day mark (either city tour). The one we want in Acapulco is popular too (the city tour with the divers), so that might have to be #2. In Cabo, Suz wants to do that big truck thing into the desert. I don't, so we'll see what we come up with.

She wants one of the all day, expensive beach packages in PV. If that falls through, I might just look at going to one of the local hotels for the day (all-inclusive). It will probably be less than the excursion she wants to book. :sad2:

In Aruba, we plan on doing the island tour that stops at the beach. We'd then do lunch on the ship and then go back on the island for the afternoon on a local beach. I'll have to look in my Fodor's book for which one. If we can't get the tour, no big deal, I'm sure we can do it on our own like we did in Grand Cayman. She originally wanted to go to the island with the waterpark, but it was only 2 1/2 hour on the island for a few hundred dollars. I said no.

Castaway is just a banana boat ride with DS. That will be the last thing I book because we could always do it on the BOB.

We leave Friday. Just me and my friend Laura. She hasn't been there since 2000, so she is very excited. I'm taking her to Blue Bayou on Sunday.

Is Blue Bayou the one overlooking Pirates? :confused3

Suz really wants to eat at that restaurant in Pirates.

The Marriott is also on the ART line with a stop there. There is also an ART kiosk in the hotel.

I haven't fully talked it over with Suz, but as I'm on here more, I'm starting to lean to switching to the Marriott.

Now that will all change if Paridise Pier comes up on sale.

Not sure. I was just looking at their website last night. I told Suz we could go there in the evening if we were staying at the old hotel. It has a few restaurants open already and shopping is suppose to open this month.

Do you know the names of any of them going in?

If you get around there on your trip, let me know what you find/see.

It didn't take us long at all to get to Disney Land from the Garden Grove area on the shuttle.

The shuttle seems to run pretty regularly and only makes a few stops. We'd have to take it to the other hotel anyways, so that is not a negative.

Well Becky and Cheryl, it is 11:00. I'm going to bed.

Talk tomorrow.
