none of my dads family would come to our wedding because we didnt get married in a catholic church.:headache: to this day i havnt forgiven them.

Wow that is awful, life is just too short. We are Catholic and I can't imagine not going to a family wedding. They need to go to confession.....:rotfl:

We're Catholic too and I agree that they have to go to confession. How terrible for you Mike.

Good Night All...........:wave2:

MG---I just had a cup of Chamomile tea, now I'm heading off to bed..........:faint:

Just wanted to say evening all.

Not staying long, I'm dead tired tonight for some reason.

We've decided to NOT do DL on the Thursday we get in. Rather, we'll relax at the hotel and do some swimming.

However, now we're looking at possibly upgrading our hotel to one with a better pool. Not seeing anything right near DL, so we're looking possibly down in Garden Grove (I think that's the name). It is still on the ART line so we can catch the shuttle to the parks on Friday.

There is a Marriott Suites for $125 down there. We get a suite room and the property looks really nice.

The hotel we're at now doesn't have many ammenities, but we booked it based on price and the fact that it was going to be just a place to sleep those two nights (we originally wouldn't get in until midnight and would be at the parks all day on Friday).

Now that we have time on Thursday, we'd like somewhere nicer, with a better pool, more comfortable room and restaurant choices at or near the hotel.

Still holding out hope that Paradise Pier goes on sale in June (or the DL hotel). :thumbsup2

Cheryl, I stil see your light on. Are you still DISing today? :confused3

That's dedication - morning until night while the house work and family go unattended. Wait, that sounds like what I do. :rolleyes1

I think my light was probably on all day today whether I was here or not :rolleyes1 Usually when Al gets on here he closes this window but he didn't do that tonight, maybe he was lurking :lmao: :lmao:

I'll have you know I actually did do some housework today. I did 3 loads of laundry (it's not all folded yet though), vacumed the whole house, cleaned the bathrooms and made dinner and then tonight I was Rach's and a few of her friend's taxi service.

We spent one night in the Garden Grove area in 2003. We stayed at the Homewood Suites there but if I remember right the shuttle from our hotel also stopped at the Marriott Suites. There were lots of restaurants in that area and a Target close by too. It seemed like a nice area when we were there.

So you're saying it was a quiet and relaxing day off then, correct? :rotfl2:

It looks really nice down there. Now the question is, is it worth $50 more per night? That's a total of $100+ more.

We will be spending a lot of time there though on that Thursday and maybe come back during the day on Friday. Plus, maybe we'll stay a little longer on Saturday.

Oh, almost forgot, the cheaper hotel will include a breakfast (nothing fancy though).

We could book the Hyatt for a couple bucks more than the Marriott and get breakfast for two in the restaurant, but we'd give up the suite and the pool isn't all that great.

I would really love for the DL Hotel to go on sale. That is probably the best pool in the area. We stayed there for $205 the time we went. Had to cancel out on our $135 at Paradise Pier. Hoping for that one too.

If you think about it, the Marriott would be no more than what we'd normally pay during quiet season at WDW for a Moderate. Funny how we'll drop the $ quickly in WDW, but are picky and choosey (is that even a word) outside WDW.

Cheryl, is Rach counting the days down to the end of school?

DS has 16 days left.

Is that to the 14th? :confused3

Because were 102 to the actual cruise.

But I like the count that has us in double digits. :cool1:
that is until Aug 14th

That is totally understandable. When we fly to FL the last thing on our list is hitting the parks.

If you're looking for a nicer place to hang out it might be worth the extra money. I always like the extra room a suite gives over a "regular" hotel room. Do you ever look at hotel ratings on trip advisor? I use that alot to help me decide between 2 hotels. Here's some pixiedust: in hopes that you end up getting a good rate at the Disneyland Hotel! We really enjoyed staying there when we went in 2003!
