We are in the western part of the state. Between Rochester and Buffalo. If you are not familar with western New York then we live about 70 miles from Canada, or Niagra Falls. As for New York City, it is about 300 miles Southeast of us. In fact we upstate people refer to the Big Apple as another state. We upstate people always make it a point to differentiate between us and the city folks. When we board a Disney ship and they ask us where we are from so they can announce us we always indicate Hamlin, New York State. When I was a teen we lived on Long Island, not far from JFK airport. Hamlin is a very small town of about 4,000 people. It is the proverbial one stoplight town. It has a few gasoline stations, I think Petro in England? and just as many pizza places. That's about it. A lot of farm land around. Nice pleasant country setting. How about your end? I remember getting into being a soccer fan, on the TV, tellie. Liverpool fan.

Even enjoyed cricket.
In short, we loved Northern Ireland.
Thanks for explaining, its sounds so nice where you live.
We live in Burnley, a small town in north west lancashire, not to far from liverpool or manchester - you will have heard from them. they are in the premier division. Our local football club you may have seen on the tellie is Burnley Football Club, nowhere near as good as the likes of liverpool.
We live about 5 minutes from town but it is quite rural where we live. At the back of our house we have open fields,a bridle path for the horses and a fishing lake. It is very hilly where we live so the rain is always having over the hills.
Did you make it across to England when you lived in Ireland, did you like their accent?
