Jeff, while we wait, answer me this......
If I had gotten into the phone lines the first day of booking the repo, what do you think it would've cost? We would've wanted a cat4......2 adults 3 kids....The dates just didn't work for us, so I didn't even entertain the idea. Well, and the fact that I don't think we could pay for it with our upcoming trips.
Well you could have scored a Cat 4 last night if you wanted too. I saw one available on the
DCL site.
If you would have gotten through early, like I did (phone answered 5 minutes after opening, talking to agent at 20 minutes and had ressie at 35 minutes), you probably would have been in the $10,000. That is only a guess.
We got our Cat 9, 2A+1C, for $5,200. I believe a Cat 8 would have been $1,000 or so more.
I also put a paper request in when we were sailing on the 1/14/07 cruise and DCL actually processed it. It was for a Cat 7. I think we were in the low $7,000.
My guess is we'd be around the mid- to upper-$8,000 range for a Cat 6, so figure an additional mark up for the Cat 4, plus the 2 extra kids.
Maybe you might have been pushing $11,000.
What the heck, you should just go for the Walt or Roy Suite.
My calc is that those must be going for around $30,000-$35,000 minimum for the Repo cruises.
