Thanks Jen the did help, especially when I got to one house and the lady there was very "wi"tchy, but remove the "w" and put in a "b" She didn't want to let me in to read the meter because she said she was tired of getting water bills and said the water should be free. At first I thought she was joking around, but she was serious, she called my boss while I was there and was ranting and raving with him on the phone. Some people.......

Water should be free. Hope the second half of your day is better Andy.

I'm sitting here at my desk in an empty school. Kids come back tomorrow. I am bored out of my skull. So I am listening to Jimmy Buffet....wondering if the KK theme song should be "We Are The People Our Parents Warned Us About"

Yes, it is - I am so glad we went ahead and had the work done.

Spring will be the true test - once it starts raining we'll really see the benefit.

Of course, we still have snow in the forecast instead of rain

Spring has sprung here on the west coast. I was laying in the lounge chair at my Mom's on Easter, it was warm and heavenly. I was wearing short sleeves and capri's. My DD was wearing shorts! But it is short lived, supposed to cool down a little bit, ok west coast cool 63, and it's to rain on Friday and Saturday.

Oh thats sounds georgous .... its still blooming cold and frosty here and still getting snow showers. I remember a few easters ago sitting in our garden sunbathing and drinking cocktails...what happened to that weather

If I were you I'd carry an icy bucket of water with me... if anyone made that "water should bwe free" comment I'd throw the bucket over them and say "there you go..that buckets on me!"

Although...maybe you shouldnt if you actually want to still be in employment

Actually, my first thought about the "water should be free" rant....

"Water is free, lady....just take your bucket down to the lake/river and fill up! It's the delivery that costs extra..."

What a bad day I dont want to be the bearer of bad news but usually when a hamster get sick it is the end of its little life.
Olivias got ill the day before we left for Florida last oct and by the next day it was no longer.
I hope Patch pulls through.

Ok, maybe it's my age, maybe after 29 years of doing the same thing I am getting tired, or maybe I'm just being cynical, but this is the first time in 29 years that I actually dreaded going back to this job after being off for vacation.

Oh well, it's a job and it pays the bills, I better suck it up and make the most of it. It just would have been nice to return to work and not find myself a week behind in the meter readings("again").............

Of course, temps in the 30's don't help my mood either...........

while i appreciate the 6 weeks vacation i get, its getting more and more difficult to go back. over 33 years is a looong time.
but at least i have my sweet polly to get me through it.

Good god! I want today to end

Neil got home in time to whizz to the vets... we went through all the "goodbye" incase he didnt come home...Ellis was heartbroken and sobbing for ages ...finally got Ellis settled and used to the idea - Neil comes back with Patch - still alive!

They have given him 5ml of antibiotics - 5ml =$40

No doubt he wont last much longer but at least he's still around today

They dont really know whats wrong but he's an old hamster so its just a case of wait and see.

Its tough being a parent - I need a drink.

robin poochies not doing very well either.(you know, the bear)
arthritis pretty bad. been on meds for a while now but they dont seem to be working anymore. she's limping pretty bad and seems to have only one good leg left. the doc said the only thing they can try is a cortizone shot. may have to do that.
robins kinda bummed.

As if by magic! - Neil just bought me up a wine - he's had one too - we obviously dont deal with stress too well

If we cant handle an ill hamster, god help us if something serious ever happens

Karen-Great news about Patch! The bright side is now when he does go Ellis may be a little better prepared for it. And about the money, try this on for size. My dog is allergic to grass, dust, and pollin. No kidding! He is on about $80 worth of meds every month! This is why I tell people we can't have a child. The dog is too expensive!!

Mike- Dust stuff for your poochie! I don't know what is going to happen when we loose Shadow. He is my baby.
