Wow where was this!! Never saw that last year:confused3

Ok, maybe it's my age, maybe after 29 years of doing the same thing I am getting tired, or maybe I'm just being cynical, but this is the first time in 29 years that I actually dreaded going back to this job after being off for vacation. :sad2:

Oh well, it's a job and it pays the bills, I better suck it up and make the most of it. It just would have been nice to return to work and not find myself a week behind in the meter readings("again").............:rolleyes1

Of course, temps in the 30's don't help my mood either...........

See ya later......:wave2:

Good morning/afternoon all....

Well, I survived yesterday (first day back on diet) pretty well. I only had 1 indulgence (a cookie and hershey's kiss) which I counted!

This morning, I feel really organized. I had the coffee pot set to brew when I got up this morning, I got out of bed on time, got ready, unloaded the dishwasher, got dinner in the crockpot, got Thomas ready, got breakfast and lunch packed for myself, and out the door on time. Yeay!

Tonight's dinner will be super easy chicken, Kashi pilaf (haven't tried before) and green beans....

 Andy....I feel for you. I get that feeling every so often also.

But, like your tag says....gotta pay for those Disney cruises!

I know you won't see this 'til lunch, but here's some pixiedust: to get you through the day.....

Cass,

Can I ask you FOr a favor?

No rush, but I was hoping for a slight modification of the MNSSHP logo - using orange around the letters instead of the red (don't really want blood on DS's shirt, even for Halloween!)...

Edited to add: the I'm with BOB one....

Poor Karen....must have had to go iron, 'cuz she's not here now....

I have a question to ask the UKers....if the food we call "french fries" is what you call "chips", then what do you call "potato chips"?

Inquiring minds want to know - I love differences in languages and dialects.

Ok, 4 posts in a row (make that 5)...I suppose I need to go do some work now. I'll check in later.

Bye!

Potato chips are call Crisps. At least that is what my friend Joan calls them

Morning Diane! Have you recovered from your weekend of food and fun?

Hi Jen! How are you? Is the basement holding up?

Hi there!

Yes, it is - I am so glad we went ahead and had the work done.

Spring will be the true test - once it starts raining we'll really see the benefit.

Of course, we still have snow in the forecast instead of rain :headache:

Potato chips - we call crisps
French fries - we call chips but we do say french fries occasionally if we mean the skinny chips eg McDonalds thin chips.

Well, what a day so far!

I didnt bother ironing this morning - couldnt face it.:sad2:

Ellis' hamster is poorly:sick: - tried getting him to a vet this morning but they couldnt fit us in:rolleyes: - he's quite old for a hamster and Ellis is terribly upset. He may be on his last legs:sad1: Poor little Patch:sad1:

Then we had to go to the hospital for Ellis' other allergy appointment. He was NOT in the mood:sad2: We got to see the consultant and I didnt like him - very sarcastic and I got rather shirty:rolleyes1 ... Neil stayed calm and in the end he agreed to skin prick test Ellis. He was going to test him for all 10 different nuts:woohoo: ....until Ellis started crying and refused:rolleyes: ...we agreed in the end to 3:rolleyes: ...he was tested for peanut, cashew and almond. The results - no reaction to cashew:banana: :woohoo: :yay: :cheer2: ...no reaction to almond:woohoo: :yay:  :cheer2: ....... the reaction to peanut was TWICE the size of last time:scared1: ... ie - still waaaay up at the top of the severity chart...aka as bad as it can be...

You ought to see the fuss he made:rolleyes1 .... he actually said to the young lady doing the skin pricks that the last woman was vicious! - she was lovely and laughed that much she had to stop:lmao:

She chatted all the way through to him to keep him calm and he was very brave (well, he didnt scream the place down anyway:goodvibes ).

So, now we're jsut sitting watching tv and I'll tackle the ironing later.

Send a little pixie dust for Patch?

Thanks Jen the pixiedust: did help, especially when I got to one house and the lady there was very "wi"tchy, but remove the "w" and put in a "b" She didn't want to let me in to read the meter because she said she was tired of getting water bills and said the water should be free. At first I thought she was joking around, but she was serious, she called my boss while I was there and was ranting and raving with him on the phone. Some people.......
