Day

You wanna talk rain?

Here's what the side yard at our house looked like yesterday after about two inches of rain in three hours:

Fishing charters available soon...

Thankfully it stopped raining and the thousands of dollars worth of drains we installed a few years ago started pushing all that water into the street. And thanks to the sump pump our basement stayed dry. We were sweating it for a while during some of those storms in case we lost power ... :scared:

I've been thinking about you after hearing about all the flooding in MO...glad to hear you're safe and sound and not swimming in your basement.

We had thunderstorms yesterday - our basement has stayed dry too...

Good morning/afternoon all....

Fortunately I started reading backwards to catch up, so was not fooled by that nawty Underdog....:lmao:

Hi Jen! Glad to hear that your basement is dry, too!

The real flooding - with the rivers - is probably going to be pretty ugly this Spring. We keep getting pounded by these storms every couple of days that dump 2-4 inches of rain at a time. Once the snow melt really gets going up north and makes its way south you'll probably start hearing more about the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers flooding property in this area.

The joy of life in the Midwest. Three months from now we'll be begging for rain.

I've had 4 blissful hours alone today:cloud9: - Ellis was at Nanny's house.

I got the groceries shopping done without a whining kid moaning up and down every aisle:woohoo:

Benda - glad your home stayed dry - thats some puddle!:scared1:

Mike - knew you were kidding;) - pity though - you could have taken some nice photos with that new camera of yours:lmao:

Have started my "collecting" ready for the Greece holiday. I start buying bits and pieces in each weeks shopping rather than get it all in one go. I did it once all in one go - holy cow! - it cost me about £300 :scared1: - suncreams, toothbrushes, shampoos etc. Now I get it bit by bit and you dont notice a little each week. :cool1:

It's a shame you weren't over here with me as I was walking up and down the street whining about getting soaked while working in the rain. To top it off, I was doing curb meters all morning. Do you know how much fun it is kneeling on the wet ground as it is still pouring down rain, not much fun at all, whine, whine, whine, that's how it goes............:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

Oh, and I did have rain gear on to by the way. Now, I'm home for lunch and the stinkin' sun just came out, whine, whine, whine some more.........

Don't you just love grocery shopping alone? I used to do ok - I put Thomas in the cart, give him a snack, and it wouldn't be too bad. Now, he's too big to ride in the cart, so it's more of a challenge....

And I have to go to the store tonight....with Thomas... sigh...:rotfl:
