Dude - we gotta meet. I thought I was about the only guy to do crosstitching! But, I love doing it. I've been doing it for about 20 years, but I only do really large projects,and then I never frame them! I need to learn to do custom framing. Maybe I'll try to take some pictures & post them.

Dave did one cross-stich and I got it for a wedding present 15 years ago. It's pretty big too. I like to do big projects as well. My college room-mate showed me how to do it and I got hooked on it ever since! Need to get back into the hobby - it's really relaxing!

Good to know about the hair dryers - I have thin hair as well, so if they are good enough for you, they'll be good enough for me!

And we are probably going to get a cab from the hotel (Radisson) to the port... just want to get there early and start having the experience of a lifetime!! I will do some searching to find a good taxi company (i know there is one that isn't really great).

That must be the taxi company that Shirley is talking about. Hope you find the good one kiddo.

Can someone tell me if the blow dryers are decent on the ship or should I pack mine?

We always take our hairdryer, since there are three girls with long hair in our family. That way, two can dry their hair at the same time. Helps when we're trying to get ready for the shows.

Dave just tried on his pirate costume and he decided to use a bra for an eyepatch. I fell over giggling thinking - oh my GOSH - he may try this on the cruise and it may end up on You Tube!!!!

But I think if God wants us to have another kid - he'll find a way around the "fixing"

I went shopping today, for odds and ends and dress shoes. One thing on my list was to find flip flops or slides for Hagan -- and there were NO such things at WalMart! I figured at least they would have something. I did find us girls some on clearance, but NOTHING for boys. Surely they have some for sale on the ship - does anyone know?

I think the biggest one I ever did was a full size monopoly board - but it wasn't difficult and there weren't a lot of stitches. My most complicated (and one I'm MOST proud of) was the one I did for my dad when he retired from the Air Force. I did one of the seal of the Air Force

The other one I did was one of an Indian Chief. He was a Chief Master Sargeant when he retired (after 30 years) and everyone called him Chief. So I did them both, framed them in a double mat and gave it to him at his retirement ceremony... It's my proudest one...

It was a LOT of work - all the blue about drove me CRAZY (-er).

The indian chief was easy - I remember us getting a snow storm and we were stuck indoors and I got about 1/3 of it done in 3 days - working on it non-stop! I'll have to see if I can find a picture of it all completed.....

I know it's therapeutic for me - I just start sewing & kinda unplug my mind for a while. I used to take it to work & hide in the conference room for an hour a day to detox.

Want to start doing a game night with friends, first one being on my birthday. Don't have a lick of board games in the house and need some ideas of some good ones to purchase. I need them to be anywhere from 4 people to 20

Cranium is alot of fun. Dutch Blitz is a fun card game. We also play Mexican Train with friends often. We are game crazy around here.
