Thanks. This will be my first attempt at going alone. Rob has a meeting, and it is killing him to not be able to come with me, but I told him I am a big girl--lol. I think he is just a little over-protective when it comes to this. Well, and in the last day or so, we have found out that our high school friend (Rob's college roommate), Jason, has been diagnosed with the same type of brain tumor I had. He will have surgery on Tuesday down in New Orleans. The docs say that it is most probably benign, but we are concerned for Jason because the tumor has attached itself to the brain. I was lucky, my tumor was not attached. It was just pushing on my brain. Jason is an executive at a bank, and one of the most intelligent people we know--super nice to go along with that. He and his wife have three small children. So I'll transfer my "dust stuff" to him if it's ok with y'all.:thumbsup2

I was going to ask why you needed to go to the neurosurgeon...but I didn't want to be rude.

One of my best friends had a lemon sized tumor removed from her brain last summer. It was called a Meningioma - it was on the outside of her brain. She didn't even know it was there and it didn't really give her any trouble at all. She named the tumor "Consuela" and in July, she celebrated the one year anniversary of Consulea's "eviction". She's young like you.... just turned 38.

I can't wait to talk to you more about it. I'll keep you in my prayers!!

http://www.**************/id/1256108387.pngWell she thought she was going to finish out the week got home last night and said the new teacher starts tomorrow. So I have my wife back:rotfl::rotfl:

Yay Nancy!! Welcome back to retirement!!!!

I have to giggle because my oldest, Abby, has a long term sub for her Social Studies class (regular teacher had a baby and should be back in October). Her sub was a teacher for 37 years and since her retirement 3 years ago, she's had 3 long term sub positions...

I immediately thought of you, Nancy! I guess once teaching is in your blood, it's almost impossible to get out!! :thumbsup2

The last time we were there in 05 the cab driver kept saying the hurricane in 04 was from ocean to ocean!! most of the island was under water!!

That's true! We have some friends who moved there (from Virginia) and they went through that Hurricane (I think it was Ivan - the same one that destroyed P'Cola, FL). Our friends' house was destroyed and it took a major toll on their health (and sanity!):scared1: (all ok now, though!)

My hair looked so good when I left the shop. It is amazing how different it looked when I did it this morning.:confused3 I am going in next week and she is going to let me style it while she is watching. I told her to cut it any way she wanted to. Jackie and I went to high school together so she knows me really well which can be good or bad. ;)

Leisha - why IS that they make it look so good and we can never recreate that look when we get home??? That's so frustrating to me! :confused3 I'm getting my hair cut on the 17th, so I will have 7 days to figure out how to style it before we get on the boat!

Hey everyone...home from work. Now to pack up and get ready to drive to Ohio tomorrow. My triptik says 607 miles, 9 hours 9 minutes to get there.

We will be having a mini DISmeet on Sunday. We are meeting Mike and Robin for Brunch/Lunch. It should be a good time. I just hope my kids aren't too wired from the weekend with their cousins!

Look what I made....
