Uck - Shrimp = dead bodies with heads on:scared1:

I agree with you Karen! EEEEWWWW.

Actually, during our dinner with Scott and Lori it was funny how Lori and I agreed (except for the food not touching stuff;) about what kinds of foods we liked.... we're both pretty simple meat and potatoes like Cass too.

But Scott and Bob were willing to try anything.... BLECH!

We were all sharing each others drinks too:grouphug:

Essentially, the GTY ressie allows DCL to place you wherever they want to. The cruiser gives up the ability to choose their own cabin in exchange for the possibility that they may be moved up a category or two. It also allows DCL to "overbook" a category. Like the Category 12's, there are only 13 cabins in this category. But Disney can sell a ton of these at a low discounted price if it appears that the ship is not filling to their satisfaction. Then when the cruise date nears, the simply plug those excess cat 12 people wherever they have room.

Thanks Steve! That explains it very well. :thumbsup2 I always thought that GTY was assigned only when they got low on rooms. I didn't know that you could choose GTY at any time.

Matthew

Well that was interesting....

My daughter (who is supposed to be sleeping) yelled out "I want to poop in the potty mommy!"
:eek::scared1:

So I RAN upstairs to find her completely nekked!! :lmao:

And I sat her on the potty....nothing!

Stall tactic :rolleyes1

:rotfl2:

They also say that if you pick your room, you are less likely to get one, but I don't know if that is true or not. I'd like one, but we're just happy to be cruising. I have had a couple of "teenager" moments here today, so I wish we were leaving now.:rotfl:

You and Rob were having teenager moments together?;)

:rotfl2::thumbsup2

WOW...TA just called (on a sunday) I think she knows she's in deep doo doo. :rotfl2:

She said she's never seen a room assigned to a cat 12 unless you choose it. So she's obviously blaming DCL.

She calling DCL as we speak and will call me back later this afternoon.

That'll be nice getting it fixed so quick!

Really! You got the call? Conrats Steve!:cool1:

Nope, I didn't. I chicken'ed out so to speak. I kept looking that the availability of the Cat 5 and 6's are realized that I have a snowballs chance of being upgraded for free, and very long odds on being called for one of the few cat 5's available on the ship. So, I asked Laura how much she really wanted a verandah and she really wanted it, so I booked the Cat 6 GTY. I'll be pleased as punch if that's what we get, but ironically, my chances for an upgrade are better now than they were.

Thanks, Cass! Here's a pic that Hagan took of us, leaving for dinner :)

Very nice:thumbsup2

Too bad we didn't know about the meeting of Lori & Scott and Bob & Rose...Mike and I were debating about going to Niagara Falls or the cottage.

Niagara Falls is only a little over 3 hours away from us. :sad2:

 !!!!!!!!!!! OMG, that would have been so much fun!

We could meet up again!

It's only a bit over 2 hours for us:thumbsup2

(Found out the drinking age in Canada is 19. Told son that one day I'd pick him up and we'd go over and he could officially order a glass of wine or a margerita or something with dinner)

OK, I have just looked over the new cruise itineraries. I'm sure that everyone has already been discussing them, but I can't keep up. There have been 50 pages since I last logged on.

Who is up for Alaska in 2011? :thumbsup2

Matthew

We are!:thumbsup2

I am Matthew!!:thumbsup2

Oh cool!

Although, I just excitedly called Bob at work and told him the good news.....
since he's wanted to do an Alaskan cruise for so long..... and he wasn't as excited as I thought he'd be.

I said "so what would you think if I rebooked onboard with a tentative date for an Alaskan cruise?"
He said he'd be pissed because we don't have the money:sad1:

(But I'll probably do it anyway:thumbsup2.... sssssshhhhh)

Brag on. I brag about my kids and grandkids all the time. Asiah cheered for three games. She did great. Elijah's football team won 35-0. He played excellent even with all the mud. I dont know why he loves it. he is all bruised up. He has a right badly sprained bruised fore arm and he still played. He is a trooper. Oh yeh, He also tried out for his spot in his orchestra. he is first chair violin. He was so proud of himself. he told me today if he does not get in to the NFL he will be a violinist. Isnt he funny. Now i am all done bragging for tonite.

Way to go Elijah!:thumbsup2:cool1:

Hi everyone, just have time for a quick post. I've been super busy lately with extra hours at work and a major house project taking up our free time. I think this is my first post on this thread :sad2: and I haven't had time to read along. I wanted to post that we got our cabin #. We were booked as a Cat 7 Guarantee and we are in a Cat 7 cabin on deck 7 :woohoo: The susspense of not knowing our cabin # had been killing me :lmao:
Has anyone else that was booked as a guarantee gotten their cabin # yet?

Well after I got that letter from the Radisson about my credit card info being stolen, I cancelled so I am narrowing down my choices for Friday night hotel :thumbsup2

I only got one by accident, and technically I gave it to Steve ;)

NO! Come back!

Time to wait for a better mood. I've been in those "we can't spend money ever again" moods myself. But you can't stop living, and you know that you will be taking future vacations. I like the idea of being able to book a "placeholder" ressie and then switch it when things get firmed up. :yay:

Nope, just gonna do it anyway;)
We're not married, we both have our own homes, I can book if I want to,
if he wants to get mad about my spending my own money to book a trip for him then so be it:rolleyes:

Ok guys I'm off to take my computer apart and retrieve the photo card that my computer ate:headache:
