Oh my...are we totally walking down memory lane??? :goodvibes I remember the flash cubes, the 110 camera, the disc camera (I had one), all of it!

I also remember tv with only 3 channels, rabbit ears, and we had a record player in a big cabinet that sat on the floor....

Me too!!! We didn't get a microwave or a VCR for quite a while, but i remember us having cable tv pretty early (like 1984 or so).

Does anyone remember the Super 8 movie camera (withOUT the sound??) My parents had that and I LOVED it!! For their anniversary about 9 years ago, I bought a machine and manually converted ALL their super8 home movies to a VHS tape (that was FUN..... trying to figure out the chronological order based on how old I THINK I was):rotfl2:

You know...even look at our cell phones. 10 years ago they were just phones, now they resemble "tricorders" from Star Trek. I can do so much on my BlackBerry, its simply amazing.

I am thankful:
For the wife
who says it's hot dogs tonight,
because she is home with me,
and not out with someone else.

For the husband
who is on the sofa
being a couch potato,
because he is home with me
and not out at the bars.

For the teenager
who is complaining about doing dishes
because it means she is at home,
not on the streets.

For the taxes i pay
because it means
i am employed .

For the mess to clean after a party
because it means i have
been surrounded by friends.

For the clothes that fit a little too snug
because it means
i have enough to eat.

For my shadow that watches me work
because it means
i am out in the sunshine

for a lawn that needs mowing,
windows that need cleaning,
and gutters that need fixing
because it means i have a home .

For all the complaining
i hear about the government
because it means
we have freedom of speech. .

For the parking spot
i find at the far end of the parking lot
because it means i am capable of walking
and i have been blessed with transportation .

For my huge heating bill
because it means
i am warm.

For the lady behind me in church
who sings off key because it means
i can hear.

For the pile of laundry and ironing
because it means
i have clothes to wear.

For weariness and aching muscles
at the end of the day
because it means i have been
capable of working hard.

For the alarm that goes off
in the early morning hours
because it means i am alive.

And finally, for too much e-mail
because it means i have
friends who are thinking of me.

Lovely.... :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

That's a great thought isn't it?? Every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from now until the cruise I will be saying, "5 weeks from right now we will be......"

I love flying so that is a huge part of this vacation. I actually go on an airliners website and look at pictures of the airline and aircrafts we will be flying! There are aviation enthusiasts out there that sit at airports and take pictures of Boeing's, Airbi, Embraer's and Canadair's for a hobby. Who knows, now that I have a REAL camera, I just might have to start doing it!!

I love the whole experience.....but mostly the small pot of chocolate Gu that we get with our dinner.http://www.gupuds.com/our-puds/luvly-potted-puds/cheeky-little-pots-au-chocolat

I agree with Chris. Heck, I got fired two weeks ago, and I'm still going! Can't keep me off the boat. Howabout a milkshale party on deck 10 to soothe everybody's nerves? :woohoo:

I'll be there.

well said heather.:cutie::worship:

now you know i'm always available for a hug or 2 or 3 or 4 from the ladies.;);)

as long as some of the girls realize..(and they know who they are):rolleyes1
that NO means NO.:rotfl::lmao:

Even if we're wearing a red dress.

I hope it wasn't metallic pea or was it pee? :confused3 in color with fake woodgrain.

I have a picture from our last cruise where my sister says i have the possessed Clark Griswold look in my eyes. They were down a few weeks ago and we were watching vacation and I was saying, "gee I see a lot of parallels between myself and Clark." I pulled out my triptik, something I still use despite having a GPS, I am an excessive overplanner. My dad and Tracy just started laughing.

Here is that picture...

Great photo but who's Clark Griswold?

How things have changed.

It is the name of Chevy Chase's character in the National Lampoon Vacation movies. He is the father of the family and he tries so hard to give his family the best Vacation (the original), European vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation.

We had one of those Marsbar phones...boy did they weigh a ton.

We borrowed a mobile phone from Rick's work as we were expectng a call from the bank. It was one of those huge phones with an even bigger battery pack that the phone connected onto the side. The battery was the size of a car battery:rotfl2: The phone rang whilst we were in a store and I was looking round thinking "I wish someone would answer that phone":rotfl2:

Ah ha...now I know.

But how long is the flight? Bet it's not 8 hours non-stop?
The longest I have ever been on a flight is 3 hours. Its just funny how cheap the American airlines are getting. American meaning all of them and not specifically American Airlines.

I remember 15 years ago flying to Puerto Rico and on the 3 hour leg from Atlanta to San Juan, we had a nice chicken lunch. I was always hearing about how bad airline food was and i kind of liked mine.

Not just the American airlines....our ones are cutting back on baggage allowance. I'm sure we'll notice cutbacks in October. Where currently planning our transatlantic cruise next September and British Airways only gives us one x 23kg suitcase per person free to Barcelona. We will have to pay for any additional cases. No way will I be able to get everything we need in two cases.

I love the food too.
