Good morning everyone!

Trust all is well. It's still humid here today, but we are supposed to get severe storms today as a cold front comes in. We should be thankful for that front as we probably would have had a direct hit from Bill had the front not blown him away from the mainland.
I'm back, had to put Stuart to bed. Watching BB.
I never got into BB, but last night something startled me out of my sleep, and Elaine was still up playing FaceBook games and I couldn't get back to sleep. I watched BB After hours on Showtime. I guess it is raw, live footage of the house...after hours. It was rated TVMA, and I did hear a few R-rated words, but because it was raw footage, I had a hard time getting into it.

Most of the time it was just a few of them playing pool, then going into the kitchen to eat. :confused3

Good for you guys. Try the old trick of keeping a food journal. Be honest and write everthing down. You'll be surprised when you read back, what exactly you've eaten.

Heather Nancy has been on weight watchers for many years. With that program besides weighing food you also write down what you have been eating and each type of food you eat has a point value. For example as a man I can eat more than Nancy. Myself Heather I can have 31 points per day where Nancy can only have maybe25.
Nancy stays on track very nicely but I will admit I stray a bit:rotfl::rotfl:.

Hi all,

The problem with being on the west coast is that you are all heading to bed when I have time to sit down finally. Just finished 2nd grade homework with my son and I had to look up long and short vowels!

Anyway I also wanted to say that My name is Gina and I am a tagoholic. I am having so much fun hitting the dollar, craft and party stores that I am getting carried away.:guilty:

:rotfl2:Me too!!! Want to start a club?? We can be co-founders and co-presidents!! Anyone else want to join? :lmao:

I looked at Morty's earlier to see what happened in BB.

Not sure who that one who got HOH is.

I know who did :woohoo:. I go to www.jokersupdates.com to get my spoilers...

Well, it's been nice chatting with you fine fellows but I am gonna go watch a vampire movie with my babe :goodvibes

Night guys :wave2:

Which Vampire movie???? One of the cute romantic Vampire movies (Twilight..... YUM!:lovestruc) or old school gory, bloody ones? :scared1: Hope it was good!!

Today is the first day I have read the dis in about a week. the last 10 pages. We have been really busy. Getting to hotel late and downloading pictures on facebook. I will begin to read and post every night starting Monday. I have really missed talking to everyone. This has been our summer. mind you a fantastic summer one that we will never forget. We have been to 30 states so far. One more to go. We have gone over 15,000 miles since May 14th.
We were only home for 3 weeks in July. We have seen lots of great scenery and wildlife. All kinds of rock formations. See all kinds of weather. rain, hail, sleet, cold, hot, very hot and very cold. Now it is very hot. We have two more long days left and we will be home. We are in Flagstaff, Arizona. We still need to go through New Mexico. Walt and I have had a blast. Now I am going back home to help my daughter with grandkids. I will be a "Gramma taxi" to football, cheerleading, gymnastics and school activities. My daughter has had to slack off alittle while we were gone so she has to make up for lost time. I have not read the last 100 posts so if I have missed anything important please repost. Mike good luck at the doctors. Good nite to all my great new and old friends. Talk to you all later.

Di!! Sounds like the trip of a lifetime.... I will have to add you as a FB friend so I can see all the amazing pictures!

I am right there with you. I have been to step class every day and a few times twice a day, and nothing is happening. I have been really good about watching what I eat, only slipped a few times and nothing............ugh.
None of my cruise clothes are going to fit.

Joanne, I finally decided that in the next 2 months, I don't have time to lose 40 pounds, THEN go shopping for clothes for the cruise, pack, plan, etc. I finally broke down and bought clothes that will fit NOW, try not to gain any weight (shouldn't since I've been exercising). I'm a stress eater. With my brother's twins being born so early in July and me stressing so much about them, I fell OFF the wagon completely. Then I decided I'd rather be fat and healthy on the cruise than skinny, stressed and sick on the cruise. BUT, I am exercising so I will at least be in shape for the fun excursions we are going on!!!!! Yipee!!!

Good morning all!!

Well - one more work day and then it's the weekend! Woo hoo!!!!

No big plans this weekend, but we are heading up to northern VA to clothes shop at the outlet (and hopefully meet some of our fellow BoBers for lunch) next weekend. Going to clean the house (never ending, is it???) and hang with the family. We like to do either a game night or movie night every Saturday night, so I don't know which one we are doing.

At Blockbuster a few weeks ago, we got a game for the Wii called Disney's Think Fast http://www.amazon.com/Think-Fast-Nintendo-Wii/dp/B001C0L7QI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1250861535&sr=8-1. Its a Disney Trivia/Game Show and everyone in the family can play. HIGHLY recommend it!!

Well - better get back to work. Will pop in to check how everyone is doing!

Angie,

How are the twins?

They are doing really well. Putting on weight - they are both up to 1 pound and about 10 ounces each! Merrick (the boy) is doing REALLY well and Marlee's having a few problems with her brain, but it's not life threatening.

I get updates from my brother each day and I can tell his spirits are high. Here is a link to the caringbridge site I use to post those updates everyday...

http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/hedrickwondertwins

Thanks for asking about them! They are my first niece and nephew, so it's been exciting and scary all at the same time (and I wish I could see them!! They are in Arkansas....)

Now, Steve, I thought you were a nice guy. We only want to hear how HARD it is to get the weight off, don't we ladies?:rotfl: Seriously, do you find it easier or harder when you are working those 12 hour shifts?

For Cinnamike and Robin....:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

I do think the 12 hours of constant moving for days on end is probably a big factor. But there's a caveat. I have to stay away from all the crud that people are bringing in to snack on. There's always something to eat in the ER. I find that there is two major coping mechanisms that ER nurses employ to deal with the emotional drama that we face. Eating comfort food and Dark or inappropriate humor.

I never got into BB, but last night something startled me out of my sleep, and Elaine was still up playing FaceBook games and I couldn't get back to sleep. I watched BB After hours on Showtime. I don't have Showtime so I've never watched the afterdark footage. On BB1 AOL broadcast the feeds live and free and I watched that a lot. But BB1 was considered a failure by the network. It's low ratings were thought to be the result of a lack of competition by the HG's. (back then the audience voted them out with led to a us vs them mentality by the HG's.) There was not much in the way of stragedy or drama. Now with young people who are chosen for their personalities. You get an "anything goes" attitude that I think the execs encourage. Because they can't play everything on broadcast TV, I think it is a bit more palatable.

Amazing, they are so little, glad to hear they are getting stronger. How long does your brother get to stay?

Ooooh! That's the best part!! He doesn't have to go back over to Iraq! This was his 3rd tour (he goes for 4 months every year and this was his 3rd year). He was already over there for 2 months, so he had 2 months left. His commander sent the guy who was GOING to replace him in October to finish out Sean's tour 2 days after he got back. He doesn't have to go back - at ALL (and the replacement guy just has to finish out Sean's 2 months and he is done - and home for Christmas!!) Even better, he's been off work for the past 3 1/2 weeks - they get some kind of paternity leave for 2 weeks and then he got some time for coming back from Iraq .... he will probably start back to work in a couple weeks. It's been a real blessing!

Nice, Jeff. I should have said that.

Not thinking of the right thing to say at the right time is the #1 reason I end up in the doghouse.

You're so not in the dog house Steve! :lmao: It's ok, I wasn't fishing for a compliment, I KNOW I look my weight!

I'm normally on about job 5 by now! - that "to do" list is LOOOOONG today:rolleyes:

Kira woke up early too, but she didn't go back to sleep :sad2: At least you got to cuddle your boy ;)

Yup, we're in the same boat there girl! I have to be really really good both with food and exercise and I will lose, just really slowly, about 5 lbs per month. I tried on some tops I want to wear on the cruise and although they fit, they just don't look good on me. I think as long as I don't cheat at all, I should be able to get into them by cruise time :thumbsup2

Don't bother with the live feeds or BB After Dark, most of them sleep 12 hours a day just to pass the time. :sad2: But the 3 shows during the week are good because they are edited and show the competitions and key discussions :thumbsup2

Well, we were gonna watch 30 Days of Night but because he was putzing around in the garage for so long we decided to save it for another night and instead we went over our Disney itinerary together :goodvibes

He said we will have to do it again in about 40 days because he will never remember what I said in 54 days :lmao:

BTW, I have never seen or read the Twilight Series. I don't know what the big deal is with that Robert Pattinson :confused3 The dude even confessed to not showering for a week at a time :scared1: YUCK! :scared:

I can't watch scary or horror movies (heck - I can't even watch ER!!)

But I did love Twilight - I read all the books and they are wonderful. Now, not so crazy about Robert Pattinson, though... he just looks ODD... can't quite put my finger on it.

He also goes along with my "If they are British - use your darn accent" actor group..... He looks better in the movies than in the paparazzi pics... my daughter (all of 11) loves Taylor Lautner  (But she loved him YEARS ago when he was in the Fabulous piece of Cinema: Sharkboy and Lavagirl. :woohoo:

You forgot to mention the great DIS folks you met along the way!! lol

You might be over doing it a bit Joanne. Up your food intake up a bit. You need to keep your body burning the fat and if you don't eat enough it stores it to help with extra exercise. A slimming club leader once told me to think of your body as a fire..too much food and you put out the fire, too little and you starve a fire. Either way, your body just stores the fuel.

That's true. For example, if one's daily points allowance is say 28 & you only eat 22, your body resets at that & thinks you're trying to starve it so it hoards the excess. AT least that's what they say at WW. I'm so old & short that my points allowance isn't that great so not eating all my points has never been a problem!! Of course the same principle applies for calories if you're doing another plan. I've had a bad summer. Too much eating & not enough exercise. Hopefully after Labor Day we'll be back in a more regular routine & I'll start up my water aerobics again. That should help.

I am doing my first year of coaching cheerleading this year. I hope I do ok. Any lessons learned in those 2 years would be appreciated.:goodvibes

I had a lot of fun. I will look to see if I have any of my cheerleading things left. They are a lot of fun. I had someone else do the dance routine for competition. The girls were really a lot of help. I also talked a couple of high school cheerleaders into helping. Can you see the pattern that I recruited a lot of help.

Yes, it wasn't particularly entertaining, but there was nothing else on. I never watch anything on Showtime, but it came free with our DirecTV for a year, so I'm not complaining.

30 Days of Night is a creepy vampire movie. They truly are monsters and there is no romanticism that is typically the case in vampire stories/movies. They are just cold blooded, disgusting killers in this movie. They also speak a creepy language!

Elaine tells me that it isn't so much Robert Pattinson, but rather the character of Edward Cullen that people are so enamored with. It just so happens he is the schmuck that plays him. :lmao:

Now, I can tell you a couple of lady vamps on True Blood that could bite me anytime!:thumbsup2
