Went to Middle School orientation tonight. I'm SCARED!!! (Not really - I know she will do ok). Abby got a little nervous when the principal talked about how important attendance was and how not to miss ANY days of school (worried about the cruise).

Dave enjoyed the tour and walking down memory lane. He went to this middle school the very first year it opened.. was really cute!

DS's new teacher came over to the house the other week and we told her about the cruise and she was totally cool with it. She says you need time with the family. Well heck, guess I'll plan a week away in February now.

Things settled down for you Jeff?? I am guessing yes given your DIS time lately.

I have a couple schedules yet to do, but I can finish them tomorrow - not too involved. They were done in the office today.

With this being the 3rd week of the month, it is my quietest, so I don't have much going tomorrow. Off Thur and Fri as well as Mon and Tues.

I'll have to get back to the real world soon and start doing this year's work, but my mind is mush right now. I don't promise any current year statements for my districts until 9/15, so I have time to get that going.

I just need a real vacation now, not just around the house (although I will be taking DS to the Dells on Monday).

That is really cool. My son had the opportunity to go and be in the same class as me for kindergarten. It brought back so many happy memories, but that was a long time ago...he just started high school Day 2..so far so good!

Getting excited for October! Made the final payment on the cruise and reserved our time in the spa. Exotic Rasul, here we come. I'd like to go ahead and book some Castaway Cay stuff. Has anybody done the stingray adventure. I'd love for my kids to experience it, but I'm betting they'll be big chickens! LOL! Any feedback?

We did that last time...my son liked it, but I didn't. I was too afraid that I would step on one and it would sting me. I am such a scared cat

We found out online. The lame AAA travel agent that took over for my crack on-the-ball agent contacted me about a week and a half later to tell me. She was surprised that I already knew. Shouldn't have been, I was always a step or two ahead of her.

Figures..that is usually why I book my own stuff, and my families, and my friends...hmmm maybe I should charge a fee????

Me too - I look at spoilers online.... gonna be a great episode tonight. My boss watches it, but she doesn't want to know any spoilers - so can't wait to go chat about it tomorrow!

I took my son out of school for a week each year during Middle school and he recovered well. The thing he struggled with was not the homework he missed while he was gone, but doing assignments & turning in assignments about a month after...go figure

I hear that! All summer, we just went to Georgia for a week to visit family, but no REAL vacation. Don't get me wrong, that was nice, but I like having a week of something special each year. Whether that be a cruise, a week at the Beach, or WDW, I need something.

Sounds like me - 3rd week is slow for us too. Of course, we close the GL by the 3rd business day of the month and I'm done with month end after kicking off the reports (we use FRx) and I review them and send them out. Fun fun fun!!

I make no promises of statements until the 15th. I usually will cycle them out around the 10th though. Just too much stuff that has to be sent down from my districts. We have 12 statewide, plus our local office, two other smaller reporting segments and then the statewide statements. So about 16 statements a month I have to do.

A week? I'll take a long, 4 day weekend. Can you get to DL easily? If so, at least you can satisfy your Disney needs that way.

It's slow.... but I don't have anything to say!!

Oh - I remembered something.... I can't remember if I posted this here or not, but when I was in Chicago for the Pampered Chef convention, I won a laptop in a drawing (only 3 given away and 3000 consultants were there). They told me I would hear something in 4 to 6 weeks and on Friday, FedEx came to the door and delivered it!!

It's SOOOOOO pretty!! It has Vista, which I am not crazy about, but I'm a computer geek, so I am getting used to it and it's not TOOOOO bad. It's a pretty Dell....and they also included Microsoft Office 2007 - YAY (Sorry, I'm a nerdy accountant and I LOVE me some Excel!! )
