10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread #26

(I think I'm doing this right) We never choose those options either - heck, it's a vacation! We do try to limit ourselves to no more than 5 or 6 milkshakes a day tho.... But seriously, we manage to keep it under 5 lb or so that we put back on - not too bad!

5lb is fine:thumbsup2 - you'll easily get that back off. 2 weeks of USA HUGE food portions and I put on more than that usually:rolleyes1

I thought it would be nice & easy to hop on & see what was going on - ended up burning about an hour or so of time at work (shh - don't tell my boss!!) I think we know almost everything we need to know, since this is our sixth time around, but this will be our first time to fly in. Not looking forward to all the checked baggage since we don't know how to pack light! But, I don't see a way around it either.:confused3

I DIS from work a LOT too! Doing it right now in fact. I imagine I won't get any work done except urgent matters the entire month of October.

My DW is a notorious overpacker. I am working on her this time as we will have to pay to check luggage on the flights. JetBlue on the way down is 1st bag free, 2nd bag $15 I believe. I think we might be able to get away with just the free ones, but coming home we are on AirTran and have to pay for all checked bags.

You'll find the Dis addictive:rolleyes1... I'm on here every day checking in with everyone and saying hello.

I dont pack light either:rolleyes1, but we are hiring a villa for a week before the cruise with laundry facilities, so at least I dont have to bring 15 days of clothes plus formal wear this time. - that weighed a lot!
This IS addictive! And I've never done this before like I said. We do pack a lot, because we all like to dress up every night, and with my family of girls, it ALWAYS has to be something different! I take 1 pr. of slacks & a jacket, just mix it up with the dress shirt/tie combo. I have one suitcase, they have 4 or 5!!

Good morning everyone.

Ok, you two convinced me to give it a try. I may be looking for help, but I had better design/make a t shirt. I was looking at new printers at Walmart the other day...subconscious mind trying to tell me something?????? :confused3:rolleyes1

:rotfl2:MuHa Ha Ha. Insanity is contagious!

I just bought a new printer this month. but you don't necessarily have to buy a printer. If you get the images how you want them and REMEMBER to reverse them. Then you can bring your paper and images on a disk to a Staples or Kinkos and they'll use their really nice printers for you.

Wow! Thought I'd never get here after getting lost around 24 or so. Anyways, first time poster, so go easy on me! This will be our 6th annual Magic cruise; looking forward to it!:cool1: There's DH42 (me), DW40, DD14, DD9. Just looking for fun stuff to do on the boat!

Nice to Meet you! Welcome!

Firstly, well done on the weight loss:thumbsup2 ..why is it that men can lose it easier:mad: - my hubby is the same:rolleyes:

There are low fat / low sugar options on the menus each night, but I never choose them!:rolleyes1.... I'm not that dedicated! I figure one weeks indulgence then back to counting afterwards.

My philosophy is that I loose weight prior to the curise just so that I don't have to pass on any of that great food. No way I'm eat'n like a rabbit while I'm on vacation!

Glad to be here! Are there any informal meetings set up for all the DISers, or anything like that? We've never done anything like that; we just like to hang out & have fun. But, we would like to meet some people if anybody's doing that.

Thats definitely an idea!

What color shirts are everyone using?

I am thinking white would be the way to go.

We are having our first meet at the Radisson on Friday, 10/23. If you aren't flying in the day before, then we are meeting in the terminal and at the Mickey pool on day one. Cass (DIS name Timon) has a great website that has a lot of information on it. I believe you can access it from the first post of the thread on page one.

Can anybody tell me what I'm supposed to click to disable a copy being sent to my personal e-mail? I figure I don't need to check it if I'm already here.... Any help for a newbie would be greatly appreciated.

If you go and click the User CP button in the top left hand corner of the screen, and select Edit Options. About halfway down you will the following...

When you post a new thread, or reply to a topic, you can choose to automatically add that thread to your list of subscribed threads, with the option to receive email notification of new replies to that thread.
Do not subscribe No email notification Instant email notification Daily email notification Weekly email notification Default Thread Subscription Mode:

Select no email notification. I think then you have to unsubscribe from the thread for the setting to take effect. I had to do this when I got my BlackBerry. It was driving me nuts!

Ours are white - mainly due to the variety of characters I put on the backs of everyone's shirts (kinda matches all the "characters" I'm cruising with!)

In '07 I did light blue.

Danke shon. I hope I did it right. I don't want to be driven nuts, as it would be a really short drive! Thanks for the help!

Angie, I ordered baskets from Shirley for the KK cruise and a couple other cruises. They turned out really nice and it seems like everyone loved them. I don't have pictures cuz I didn't order one for myself. ;)

I had my entire order ready to fire off to Shirley but I was delivered some cr@ppy news at work today and I'm going to have to cancel them all now. :sad1: Unfortunately, cutting costs on this trip has to begin with the extras....but I won't give up my strawberry smoothies. :rotfl2:

This has been Rob's dream for 10 years now. We were really close one year in 2000 but it was scrubbed and rescheduled and we missed it.

Him and Kira watch all the shuttle launches on Nasa Live TV and they do a big countdown. Yes, he is a geek ::yes:: :lmao:
Scott loves Nasa Live TV. I'm glad he's not the only geek out there.:thumbsup2
Hi everyone! Gonna be short tonight because I have to do some chores - plus I am still working on a report of todays LONGGGGG meeting. Oops - got caught posting to this site during the meeting - but I have so many notes about what was going on, I didn't get in any trouble. (Whew!)

Just wanted to post some GREAT news about the twins - my sister in law got to hold BOTH babies for the first time on Sunday. Her quote was "It was the happiest day of my life" (goose bumps). Here is a picture of her holding Merrick. Love it!! I bought a plane ticket to go and visit at Thanksgiving - yay!!!

That puppy is so cute. I love the brown spots. What type of dog is it?
He is 1/2 lab and 1/2 Kuvasz. He is so fluffy.
