10/24/2009 Bash On the Boat (I'm with B.O.B.) - Thread 24

We're going to try to get Palo for brunch and dinner. We've never tried dinner before. We'll also try to reserve the Doubloon excursion in St. Thomas. We went on that excursion on our last cruise and just loved it! My DH, Pat, really enjoyed their pain killers and needed a 'quick nap'. He slept through dinner and the excursion ended at noon! We may try a beach afterwards, if we can!

What are you planning?

We're winging it this time Sheri. Chuck and I have done an Eastern already but our kids haven't. We'll be taking the water taxis to the Straw Market in St Maarten, seeking out cheap prices on Absolut Vodka, and making sure I get one of those "non-alcoholic" guavaaberry smoothies. Last time they forgot the part of the order where I said "virgin" and I sucked that thing down like there was no tomorrow. Let's just say I whistled my way all the way back to the ship.

St Thomas we'll do a local tour.

No Palo ressies for us except for the one Joanne is organizing for us for Brunch.

speaking of girl power....wheres bernie?? how long does it take to get a new house in order??

I was wondering the same thing. Maybe tonight while Sean is dj'ing with Rob. ????

Thanks Becky. I'll be needing those when they leave on Thursday. I may be driving down with them and flying back though. Depends on if I can find a decent price on a flight today.

Hmmm...I am not able to book for some reason. Does anyone know if they changed their policy on the REAS? Is the booking at 90 days instead of 105 days?

Just completed my flight info and Ellis' medical form on line. Just got to post the medical form and thats another 2 jobs done!

I paid off our cruise yesterday and DCLconfirmed that they got our medical forms already. They promised to have the items we need to stay alive during the cruise. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed that I'm still employed by October otherwise we'll become FOB's rather than BOB's.

Nancy...we do in fact arrive on 21st, but we're always up for a meet.

We'll be crazy busy on the 22nd. We don't arrive in Florida until somewhere between 11 and 12:00 (Airtran keeps changing our times), check into the resort and head over to mnsshp. I was thinkging that if anyone is staying at the same place we could meet up for breakfast before checking out. So far no one is staying where we are. It would be just a really quick, howdy do-eat brekkie-see ya on the ship type of deal anyway.

Hi, Nancy! I wish that we could join you for MNSSHP. I just made out our budget for the cruise vacation yesterday. YIKES! We'll be chillin' at the Raddisson. I'm thinking about $2650 for the week! I cannot believe how much various expenses add up! Just as soon as I finished the budget, I signed up for OT at work. Here I am at doing a 16 hour shift starting at 3am.

I just procured a Fish Extender. Laura was thinking about making it but I could buy one from the EBAY lady for about what it'd cost Laura in time and materials. I also knocked out my DIS Tag Gifts the other day. WOW what a relief that was. Last I heard we were at 28 players right? Hopefully that doesn't change much.

I'm trying to figure out when we want to do Palo's. I'm assuming that if we are doing the BOB'er brunch at Palos, then that will count as our brunch. So I can schedule a Dinner and a tea, is that correct?

I'm not nearly as spastic about time frames this time around. On our first cruise, I wanted a particular rotation I was also wanting to keep the Pirates night free. This time I'm not particular at all. Still, I find myself wondering when the best times to do things are.

I'm liking the extra "at Sea" days. that makes it easy. Laura wants to book a massage early in the cruise. Last time I booked it first thing on the first day and she had to miss the character breakfast. I'm going to be booking that later in the day this time.

Yep it worked. I got my Palo ressies and my excursions. In St Maarten, we are doing Under the Two Flags Tour and in St. John we are doing the Mini Boat Adventure.

Heather--the mini boat excursion is scheduled for 7:30 am - noon. Just FYI for your planning.

I am a happy camper now. Sherri, thanks again for your help. I was getting all worked up for nothing.
