Happy Mothers day all.

Took my nephew to the airpoet at 3:45 am this morning for his 5:30 flight. Hoping to go back to sleep. Just hanging out today with friends and family.

A friend of Al's sent this to him in an email yesterday, I thought it was a good thing to share on Mothers Day:

The Price of Children

Here is something absolutely positive for a change. I have repeatedly seen the breakdown of the cost of raising a child, but this is the first time I have seen the rewards listed this way.

It's nice.

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 and came up with $160,140.00 for a middle income family. Talk about price shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.

But $160,140.00 isn't so bad if you break it down.

It translates into:

* $8,896.66 a year,
* $741.38 a month,
* $171.08 a week.
* A mere $24.24 a day!
* Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is; don't have children if you want to be 'rich.' Actually, it is just the opposite.

What do you get for your $160,140.00?

* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold usually covered with jelly or chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles and flying kites.
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the
boss said or how your stocks performed that day.

For $160,140.00, you never have to grow up. You get to:

* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs,
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to:

* keep reading the Adventures of Piglet and Pooh,
* watch Saturday morning cartoons
* go to Disney movies, and
* wish on stars.

You get to frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets and collect spray painted noodle wreaths for
Christmas, hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day, and cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For a mere $24.24 a day, there is no greater bang for your buck.
You get to be a hero just for:

* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,

* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and
* coaching a baseball team that never wins but always

gets treated to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat in history to witness the:

* First step,
* First word,
* First bra,
* First date,
* First time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal.. You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs in your
obituary called grandchildren and great grandchildren. You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and
human sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God. You have all the power to heal a boo-boo, scare away the monsters under
the bed, patch a broken heart, police a slumber party, ground them forever, and love them without limits, so one day they will, like you,
love without counting the cost. That is quite a deal for the price!!!!!!!

Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren & great-grandchildren!!!!!!!

It's the best investment you'll ever make!!!!!!!!!

Good morning everybody Nancy and I just got back from doing some grocery shopping. This afternoon I will be at the Fishway meeting and greeting HA HA.
The pictur im sending I took with my cell phone after a shower if you look there is a double rainbow.
Everybody have a great day

500th Post Poem - ODE TO DISNEY CRUISE

If I were not upon the sea,
an airport guy would be me
moving people all day long,
keeping things going strong.
and if a problem should arise,
I'll fix it quick with no surprise.
Travelers scurry hither and yon
without a care what lies beyond.
For someone is behind the scene.
Keeping everything serene.
Since I am not upon the sea.
Right now that person will be me.

Matthew :)

Good job on the poem Matthew!

Hey everyone. Finally home, relaxed, and caught up after a very long day. Samantha won 3rd place for vocal solo in her category. Our young sacred dance group won 1st place, and our Level IV (the highest level) solo sacred dance participant won 1st place. The first place winners will be going to territorial competition at the New Jersey Meadowlands in 5 weeks.

That will be another extremely long day as we will have to travel 140 miles instead of 35.

I will be posting a video of Sam singing on Facebook, and possibly on photobucket tomorrow.

Congratulations to Sam! :cheer2:

At least it didn't rain, but sure was cold. Mackenzie's team won 5-0. The girls played hard. Bryce's team lost 2-0, with one goal scored off of our player. Bryce got hurt, (taken out by the goalie) but no call made by the ref. He never went back in the rest of the game.

It's cold and grey here again today :sad2:
Is Bryce OK today? I hope it wasn't a serious injury! Congratulations to Mackenzie and you on her team's win :cheer2:

Geez...

It's Saturday night...where the heck is everyone?

It was a great day today. Graduation was very nice, perfect weather...great for pics, which I wll post tomorrow when we get home. We'll probably be home around noon tomorrow.

The strangest thing happened today...

Before the ceremony, all of the graduates gathered in the hall to sign in. As we were standing there, one of the guys said hi to me and we started talking. We were both receiving the same degree, so I asked him what his name was. (With online classes, you learn names of classmates, but there are obviously no faces to go with that name.) We realized that we were in several classes together and continued to talk. It was then time to line up.

We were instructed to line up in pairs so he & I paired up. In the meantime, Mike was in The Drugin Center, where the ceremony was to take place. He was talking to the person sitting next to him while he waited for the ceremony to start.

As we entered the room, Mike was looking for me and taking pics...he noticed that the woman he had been talking to had her camera pointed in the same direction. He asked her..."Is that your husband in the glasses?" She said, "Yes". Mike said, "Well, that my wife walking next to him". They both started laughing.

It was so weird that amongst all of the graduates I was with, I chose to talk to this guy and amongst all of the family members in the auditorium, that his wife would sit next to Mike. After we did the processional and sat down, I noticed she and Mike were doing a lot of laughing. Then I noticed that she got up and came over to take a pic of us. (We were in the front row.) I asked the guy..."Is that your wife"? He said, "Yes". I said, Well, that's my husband sitting next to him. He was dumbfounded.

There's more!!!

You'll never guess what he does for a living.

He's the Master Chef for the Magic Kingdom. He's been with the company for more than 25 years. :rotfl2: Weird!!! huh?

He said that when we come down in Oct to call him and he'll get us in the park. :woohoo:

Isn't that a great day!!!:banana::banana:

Wow, great story, It's a Small World Afterall ;)
Glad you had a good day!

Did you try JoAnne fabrics? They carry a lot of crafts too so maybe they would have them.

Thanks Cheryl. I'll try them today. :thumbsup2

Then I made some door signs too

I guess now that we ALL have plane tickets, I am super excited

Isn't that a great feeling Cass? I have all my plans done myself except making arrangements for Cabo. :)

Well, good morning peeps:goodvibes

I survived the reunion!

I got there early as I didnt want to walk into a room full of people. I met my friend outside and we went in together. There were only 3 other people there when we got there, 2 of them gave me big hugs and said I hadnt changed a bit (liars:rotfl:) and one was the person I did not want to associate with so I ignored him and I think he got the message, because he didnt approach me all night after that. Loads of people arrived after and we all had a great time. I didnt leave til 1am! A few of us are hoping to meet up and keep in touch, so I'm glad I went... thanks to you all for helping me decide to go:hug:

One lady bought some really old photos - I have a big perm and huge shoulder pads:lmao:

Sounds like you had a great time Karen. I'll check out the photos later. :woohoo:

I'm not very far on our tag gifts, I have started them though which is further ahead on them then I was at this time for the KK tag gifts, maybe I'll work on them a bit today :goodvibes

Morning everyone.

Just want to shout a BIG THANK YOU to Chuck and Nancy. The kitchen looks great and Suz is really happy with it.

To fill you in, Suz went scrapbooking yesterday (all day) and Chuck and Nancy came over and we paint the whole kitchen (2 ceiling coats, primer on parts of the wall, and 2 coats on the wall).

Nancy, how's Chuck feeling?
