I was thinking with all the talk about people being in stealth and lurking when we come close to a milestone. Maybe, and this is up to the rule people, if a person doesn't post in the last 10 or 20 posts before the milestone (it would depend on how many people are posting at the time), they aren't eligible. That will keep people (like me ) from just holding back and swooping in to get it. At least you'll know they are out there (since more of us go without the green light).

Just a thought.

Actually, lurking is part of the fun! You never know who is going to pop up and claim the BOBer! There are also people who lurk with their light on - they can pop in too! Everyone should remember that the object of the game is to get as many people posting, and trying for the BOBer, as possible. The more the merrier! And to just have some fun!

Swooping isn't always easy if there are a lot of people posting. And then there's the nasty '40 second' rule - ask MG about that one!

I'm also sure that there will be occasions where someone is on the thread alone and gets to 'steal' the BOBer with 10 posts.

Keep in mind that the DISBoard gods smile kindly on people that congratulate the winner of each BOBer

but you know what I really liked about those shows..... they seemed like something that was really out there.. and yet.. had a sense of moral... I think I sound like a fuddy duddy now..LOL
I fully admit I enjoy adult humor but I am a adult now.. as a kid i loved the "dream" factor of the shows..lol did i make any sense there?..LOL

I agree, Bernie. When your kids become teens, you are made acutely aware of what is on TV at all times. And you're not a fuddy duddy.

I agree with Kathy. As the cruise gets closer, more and more of us will be posting regularly, making it harder for the "pros"to swoop in.

Jeff--I think it's very nice of you to offer up a new rule to kinda level the playing field...Are you a Southern gentleman in disguise?I say swoop if you want to--it's all in fun.

Good morning all.

Congrats on the smiley Jeff, I was busy cooking for 11!! On a work night. It was fun. I am waiting for the neighbors to start complaining about the garage band. Last night they had a microphone to go along witht he guitars & drums. But it's fun having all the kids home!!

I have some good news, First I want to thank all of you for your support. it looks like I will not lose my job after all. My current duties will be doen in Dallas. But operations has decided they need an accounting presense here and some one to do all the paper work if they expext the GM's to grow the business and focus on owners & guests. the best paret is I can work from home!!!!!! I will have to go to panama city a day or two a week, but not too bad.

So thanks again and I am so glad the job hunt is over.............

Hi Joanne! Glad to hear you're having a good time with your boys! Did you have a hard time when your first left home. I still have Emily for two more years, but I am really dreading her leaving. Rob keeps telling me that since we've lead the life we having (moving so much and not settling back where we were raised) we should expect that our children will not live close to us when they leave us. I tell him, "STOP TALKING!"

Yes, I don't like the empty nest!! I dread next summer when Patrick graduates from FSU and the Airforce sends him off. he says he should know in September where that will be. Scott now says once he gets the CPA he too wants to move to NY!! He wants to live in a big city. At least when they were in college they were only 3 hours away.

Yes, but now I really have to get organized since I won't be off a week ahead of time.

I did try on all the clothes, so the only shopping is a new pair of sneakers, some shorts and a bathing suit. The dinner clothes will be ok. I did buy two books and sunscreen, so I guess I am ready!

I try not to think about it too much--you know, that whole "living in the moment" thing. We want to settle in Florida and she wants to go to LSU. We'll see. I never thought I would encourage my child to be a "gator" or a "seminole."
