10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat (I'm with B.O.B) Thread #22

I called from work so that will be a receivable for the work accounting system. I think my total call was 20-25 minutes. About 15 of it I was on hold. My mom was on hold and we were IMing each other with the various songs and soundbites from being on hold. A couple of my favorites...

We're just got back from the DISmeet. Everyone was having such a good time that we all came back to our house. We have JLDSMD, Disgrits, Goofyfreak, and of course TinkerbellRN and me EPCOT_VA. Pics coming soon!

Well, it's 10:39 PM. All of our DIS friends left a short time ago. We all had a wonderful dinner at Blue Ridge Seafood. The kids got along especially well, young and old kids ;-) Jeff wanted to take a picture of the kids and Scott and I leaned in because we thought he meant us.

After dinner, we all came back to our house. We live within 8 miles of the restaurant. We sat around and visited. Naturally, some DCL Vacation pics came out for viewing.

Here are some pics from this evening.

Here's the gang at the table. From left to right, Jeff and Suz, Beth, Scott (in Orange shirt), Lori (in Green), and Paige.

Here's Megan and Alex trying to talk Lori and Scott into letting them have a sleepover. I love the expression on Lori's face. "You want to do what!?... Tonight!???"

The bills came in Disney folios. (Scott & Lori) Bambi

I realized after everyone left that we didn't take any pictures here at our house. Beth told me that I can't actually prove that anyone was here now.

We had a great time visiting with everyone. Scott & Lori and Paige were at our DISmeet last Fall. This was our first time meeting Jeff & Suz. It was a pleasure, and we can't wait to be cruising with everyone in October!

Good morning everyone. It looks like the VA DIS meets was lots of fun. Thanks for sharing the pictures Matthew.

It's hard to believe it is May already. This cruise will be here before we all know it. This is shaping up to be one of our greatest vacations. I just have that good feeling about it.

In the next couple of weeks, we will be ordering our passports. My mom is checking on resort accomodations. It seems renting DVC points will be a little too pricey for what we would need (2BR), so I just suggested two adjacent rooms at a Moderate. Although, for our next vacation to WDW, I may serious think about renting points and getting a studio at BLT or VWL. We shall see...

I'm getting ready to head out the door for our morning services. I'll check back as I am able to.

Had a fun day yesterday...

I went to an Italian restaurant with 15 other ladies and Neil stayed at home

Ellis had a friend over to sleep (his first sleepover) and we dropped him back late morning. Neils now at the pub watching his footie team and Ellis is at Moms so I'm having a quiet afternoon

We are hopefully going to a caravan demolition derby tomorrow - Bank hol Monday(if it stays dry)

Busy day tomorrow... Picking up flowers at 9 AM, going to the hall at 10 for makeup and the cake delivery. Cassie's pics at 11, Kips pics at 12.

Prepare the cookie table....and so it begins. We're losing our baby tomorrow.

We're handling it just fine...Who knows what tomorrow holds.

Oh my, I haven't even been on it awhile and I forgot it was wedding weekend, hope it all went ok!

well we went and saw the house.. it was a tad tiny and don't think it would really suit us.. however I am looking at another one aswell and I am not giving up hope just yet..LOL

Bob has been looking for a house for 2 years now, not finding what he wants...

I believe the plan is going to be that when he buys, I'll sell mine and we'll move in together... get married probably
So he keeps taking me along on these house hunts with him but mostly I don't like these houses he chooses....
bad or no neighborhoods
house it unique (what he wants....) but needs too much work
House is so far out in the boonies that it's on well water with oil or propane heat...
Or the simple fact that they've been downright ugly.

But lately he's been looking at normal house in normal neighborhoods so I'm getting excited!

Hope that your househunting goes much quicker than that!

We don't own our house either. It is part of our overall compensation. We make very little in cash, but get a car, and housing as part of our "compensation"

I am however, responsible for the overall maitenance of all Salvation Army property under my command. This includes vehicles, corps community centers, and our officers quarters( our house). While I am not personally responsible financially, I have to put the budget together and "raise" the money for the overall budget which includes lines for property maintenance, vehicle reserves, etc.

As a result, Elaine and I will not own a home until we retire. At that time, The Salvation Army will give us a very generous housing allowance that will help us purchase a home.

Wow, hope that goes ok when you retire.
Do they pay home insurance, utilities? Car insurance?
