Morning,

Bad news here yesterday, They are moving my job and the rest of our accounting jobs to Dallas. I was kind of in shock, just pissed at all the work I have put in lately for nothing, my last day will be 5/15. SO I guess it's summer on the beach for me. They want me to move to Dallas, but that is not happening.

DH says we are still cruising, so you are stuck with me......

We just found out that we owe Canada Revenue $3K in taxes First thing I said when Rob told me was "We're still going on vacation in October, I don't care if I have to sell the pets!!"

Sorry to hear of your job loss. My wife was in the same boat, no pun intended, last Dec as her job disappeared. she took a p/t cashier job at Walmart to get us through Chistmas and she has been promoted a few times since and is now the Lead CSM, f/t and making almost the same money as before with no traveling. Things happen for a reason. Glad you are still cruising.

Let's see, if I could do it my way, the person who announces you when you get on the ship. I'd probably get fired after the first passengers board.

I guess the Head Server in the dining room wouldn't be bad. Don't really do too much and I get to show up at your table to collect a tip on the last night.

Finally fell into bed at 4:30 this morning and woke up at 8:30. First thing I did was go sit on the front porch and take in the beautiful Florida weather.....

I would have to say Cruise Director. On our first cruise on RCCL, the cruise director was also named Chris, was tall and skinny like me. My wife and friends who cruised with us always joked that I was he. Whenever he made announcements, I was never around. Obviously, I wasn't him, but they thought it was funny enough to tease about.

I had a pretty emotional day.

I have a friend who is dying of pancreatic cancer. Today I went to see him in the hospital and he isn't doing well. He was on morphine for the pain and was drifting in and out. He said to me among other things, "thanks for being my friend. We had great times together." He and I have gone to Yankee games together and work together. He kept apologizing to me about being drugged up but I assured him that his comfort is more important than our conversation.

I told him that I wanted him to get his rest and that I would be leaving soon he said to me, "Chris don't leave without praying with me. You are here for me, minister to me." Being a minister I have prayed with people often in hospital settings, but to pray with a friend who has weeks or days to live was a lot to bear. During my prayer I broke down a bit as I thanked the Lord for our friendship and the place that is being prepared for my friend. It was tough. I hope this wasn't the last time I see him, but it could very well have been.

He says he wants to watch the Yankees first game of the season with me. I hope we can enjoy that, but if the Lord takes him home earlier, then at least he will not be in pain anymore.

I have felt pretty emotional all day.
