Ok so I have to share a story, sorry but it is long winded but so cute. Mackenzie has been coming home from school the past week with bad colors (colors is a way of showing the parents how the child did in school. Good is green, yellow is 1 warning, red is 2-4 warnings and blue is call home) Well she has gotten 1 yellow and 4 reds. Really unsual for her. So I called the teacher yesterday to find out what is going on. The teacher informed me that it is nothing major that Mackenzie is just chatting alot. (nothing new there, takes after her mother). She said the whole class has been getting bad colors, it is the 2 weeks before spring break and the kids go nuts. Most of them are talking about where they are going on Spring break. So she proceeded to tell me some stories that my child is saying.
Someone in class said "I am going to
Disneyland for Spring break"
Mackenzie said "I have been to Disneyland"
Kid says "I am going to California adventure also"
Mac says "I have been there also, my grandma and grandpa came to spend a few days with me at Disneyland."
Kid says "my grandma and grandpa are dead."
Mac "My grandma died, but is now alive"
End of that conversation
Another kids says "I am going to Disney world for vacation"
Mac says "I have not been there"
Kids says "It is better then Disneyland"
Mac says with an attitude "Well I am better then you I have been on a
Disney cruise"
Kids says "What they have a floating Disneyland"
Mac says "No there are no rides, but it is better because you get more time with the characters, you get to eat all the yummy food you want, you get to go down the spiral slide into the pool, I am allergic to it, and you get to have sleep overs with the Princesses."
Another kid says "No way you have been on a floating Disney"
Mac says "Yes I have my parents love me enough that they took me for my 5th birthday, right after my grandma died and then relived"
Kids says "So if your parents love you so much to take you on a Disney cruise for your 5th birthday what did they do for your last birthday?"
Mac "Um they had a party at the park for me"
Kids says "Oh they really love you now, huh."
End of that conversation
Another kids says "I am going to Sea World for my trip"
Mac says "I have been to Sea World"
Kids says "Have you been since the roller coaster opened"
Mac says "no I was there when it was being built" (ok just for some insight we went in May of 2003 and she was born in Oct. 2002. How she remembers this is beyond me. We never talk about that trip)
Kid says "I am going to feed the dolphins while I am there, did you feed teh dolphins?"
Mac says "no"
Another kid says "I love the Shamu show I like getting all wet."
Mac says "I don't like the Shamu show because it is an injustic to animals. You should not keep an animal in captivity just so you can use it for circus acts. The whale needs to be released into in natural home, and only be held in capitivity if it is wounded."
No wonder my child is getting reds.
