We have done both

three westerns one DCL, one RCCL and One DCl w/ Costa Maya.

We have done the jeep ride in COzmel- DH & DS # 2 loved, DS # 1 and I went to Mr Santos- juat a beach, on RCCL we went and did a snuba dive, it was fabulous, every one from 9-60 could so it with no dive experience, the last DCL we did the Fury catamaran- lost of fun- no kids, snorkling not that great, but the boat ride and the partying were!!!! I am glad my kids were not here because we drank too much, and I don't want my kids to ever see me being that silly....

Grand Caymen- both times did Stingray city- fun with the kids, don't think I would go with out, once you have done it. Took a taxi to Hell- that was interesting.

Key west- walked around and went snorkling.

Costa Maya is beautiful, not as commercial reminded me of Guam.

We did the stingrays the first trip to Grand Cayman (Jan '07). We did Seven Mile Beach after that (right at the gray hotel - I think it was the Hyatt or something).

When we went back in Oct '07, we just wanted the beach because it was just beautiful. I looked online and everyone was saying to just take a cab to Public Beach which is on Seven Mile. Karen, Neil and Ellis came with. There were facilities and restaurants right there.

As for Cozumel, wed did Mr. Sancho's (or the one on the other side of the point there) in Jan '07. When we got there in Oct '07, it was really windy and the waves were crashing up on the walk way in town.

Here is a picture Andy captured for me that day:

You can see how grey it looked. You can't see the waves, but they were bad. I think almost every water excursion got cancelled that day. We walked around town a bit, stop at Pancho's Backyard (always stop there when we go), and then back to the ship.

When we went to Playa in '04 for Suz' 40th, we went over to Chakanaab (sp?). We really like it there. We saw the snuba people right under me while I was snorkeling. The guide probably pointed out the whale swimming overhead. :rotfl:

We did an Eastern in 04.

Trunk Bay is beautiful, long travel time, but so worth it.

St Maarten we went on the Eagle snorkle. It was fun. Except for the clothing optional beach---- teen age boys got an eye full!!!

Guess we know what excursion Dawg is signing up for. :lmao:

We did the St. John Island Tour our second time on the Eastern. It was really beautiful, but we saw the beaches and wished we were there. The ride over wasn't too bad. The first time we were on an Eastern, it was so rough, none of the St. John excursions went.

He edited his last post from "Very very depressed" to just :headache: sometime this afternoon.

Hope he's ok, don't know what happened

I just found that over there. I see it was edited about 5:00 p.m. his time (real time, not DIS time).

I didn't catch the last post. Sorry. Do you know about when he posted last night?

I can't remember exactly- bit it was something like depressing day here... and then he was gone..

I hope he and his family are ok.

In sept of 06 we had to tender into Cozmel, the piers were still not ready. The destruction was amazing. We also spent way to much time at Carlos & Charlies!! Greeat Pina Colada's!!! All I can say is BIL slept through dinner and DH drank water!!!! SIL and I almost has a quiet girls night but DH woke up and came to dinner.

Not only the waves, but listen to the wind. You can see how much the "spray" goes in that wind.

Oh I remember that wind!! I almost lost my hat twice that day :scared1:

Eastern is my favorite, I love the three sea days.

at least you kept the camera on the waves when those 2 young guys walked by.
robin would have filmed them.:sad1: :sad1:

LOL! I remember giving them a not-so-nice gesture for walking in front of my camera :rolleyes1 :lmao:

Week end is over way too soon,

Baby sat this am, kids went to the movies, dinner & ds # 2 is gone..:sad2:

He is off to Tallahasse for tonight, Jacksonville tomorrow then down to tampa for Spring Break. I hope they make safe choices!!
