This si very slow, for all you Wisconsiners, good job beating FSU. I stayed up late to watch this one. FSU palyed awful.

Didn't do much today, groceries, sat in the sun, babysitting.....then dinner.

Tried a low fat chicken recipe from Kraft, not bad, but would add more spices kind of bland.

Hey guys and gals

Sorry to bring the thread down, but I am putting in a request for prayers.
Three Oakland,CA police officers were killed yesterday, and 1 has been declared brain dead. One of them was a former co-worker of Sean's.
Please keep these families in your prayers tonight.
Thank you.

Our two oldest sons are Firefighter in Portland Maine so when something like this happens as my boys would say were all one big family.
Our prayers go out to those Families .

Thanks, but they lost today to Xavier, 60-49.

Marquette lost too, so WI is no longer represented in the NCAA.

Except for Airzona, a #12 who beat #13 Cleveland State, the Sweet 16 is has no one lower than a #5, and only one of those.

The brackets are 1-2-3-12, 1-2-3-5, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4.

Guess they had some good rankings this year.

I saw that headline online and was glad not to see Sean's name when I read the article. How horrible for the families involved. Definitely will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.

Well hope everyone had a great weekend. Walt and I did. We rode 300 miles yesterday with our group. We rode around the lakes then to a chili cook off. Boy was it chilly in the early AM. By the afternoon it got warmer. Today we went with our group on another 180 mile ride. We rode to a barbecue restaurant the long way around. All around the hill country. Boy was it good. Needless to say I ate too much all weekend. We stopped at Heather's house on the way home. We got to visit with them for alittle while. Walt played bowling with grandkids and daughter. I sat and watched. It was alittle warmer again this afternoon riding home. Tonite I went over Kristen's to proofread some papers. Now I am dising and Walt is playing the wi. I will close for now to relax. Maybe read a book, knit or crochet. I can't decide. Talk to you all tomorrow. Diane

I've been praying. And doing a lot of gritting my teeth. The Crime problem here is getting almost as bad as Oakland. Being an ER nurse I work with Law Enforcement every day and I have a lot of respect for most of them. Every officer should go home to his family every night. I greive with these families.

I totally agree Steve. A teen in our neighborhood (and a former student at my school) was shot in the head while sitting by his window of his second floor window, by a stray bullet that was shot from 3 blocks away. Unfortunately things like this can happen in any neighborhood across America. I sometimes wonder why this country is quick to go to fight wars in other countries, but refuses to fight the local (gang) terrorists here in our own country.

The one officer that was killed that Sean knew; his wife was the partner of Sean's friend that was gunned down coming through the doors of a restaurant responding to an alarm call. She blamed herself for what happened and quit the department. My heart just breaks for her....

Hello all. I see the DIS is finally up and running. I figured it would come up while we were gone this afternoon. Had another day out in the sun. We had a friends b-day party at the park. It was not to hot today but the wind was horrible. It kept blowing plates right out of our hands. One poor kid got a face of quac. from a plate that the wind took off the table and smacked the poor kid in the face. Well I am off to bed. Early morning for me tomorrow. Talk to you all tomorrow.

... refuses to fight the local (gang) terrorists here in our own country...

Truer words have never been spoken.

Here's what's happening in our "small town."

We had a police officer shot here in Ceres a few years back. Gang Related. When the Ceres PD decided to put the crack down on the local gangs we were all treated to non-stop stories in the local paper about how "racist" the police were being. The editorial pages were full of letters from people protesting the "treatment" their children were recieving.

The Result?

Now, I can't send my kids to the park two blocks away from my house for fear that they will either be shot, beat up, or at the very least exposed to the foul language and behavior of the local hoodlums. Think I'm exaggerating? Just a few weeks ago a man was beaten almost to death at one of the local parks when he took his family there and and a few of the locals felt they were more entitled to his camera than he was.

The local press asked a Police Officer (my brother-in-law) if the man had "taken his family to a place that he shouldn't have." Craig incredulous responded saying "No, That family had every right to play in this park, It's the punks who were intruding!" This is the mind set of the media. The Police are always wrong and the law-abiding should really stay holed up in our homes and wait for our turn for the home-invasion robbery.

Oops! Sorry everyone. This subject really sets me off.

Nighty Night Karen.....:wave2:

After gaining about 5 pounds last week while on vacation, it's time to get this butt of mine back to the gym. I've been taking it too easy the past 12 days.

Lina wants to go with me this morning, so I had better get a move on it.

Bye for now and have a good one.........:wave2:
