Question of the Day:
What's your favorite show on the Magic/Wonder?

Mine would be the ventriloquist with that tennis ball.

Hi everyone. Well, our friends Giap and Dave, let me know yesterday that they will not be joining us on the cruise afterall. Jeff, can you remove them from the list? Cass, can you remove them from the Bob website?

She's pregnant....due in September....that'll be number 6.

6:scared1: holy cow! :faint:

Its a shame they aren't going to be joining us but congrats on the baby:goodvibes

Haven't popped in to say hello in a long time ... so

HIYA!!!!

:goodvibes

PS. Am I still allowed to do that? ;)

I was thinking about you yesterday and you pop in today! - I must have telepathicly (sp) wished you on here:goodvibes

Pop on more often Brenda:goodvibes

In Jay's case ... with salary and bonus together ... we're looking at a 25% reduction in our annual income compared with last year.
His bonus was pretty much guaranteed so that's why it's a rather painful adjustment.

 We're in the same boat. Hope things get better soon:hug:

Well, I was called into work again today and they need me again tomorrow. Its meant to be just Tuesdays but so far out of 5 weeks I've only had 1 day off:rotfl2: .... more pennies:banana:

I was on sick bay duty...

5 bumped heads in a row :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:
Poor kids:hug: Its such a shame you cant give them a hug anymore.. thats all most of them needed but laws are laws:rolleyes:

Jeff - I got your ds's thank you note - glad he liked his prezzies. He's ahead of the game now with a 2009 pin:thumbsup2

Ellis still hasnt been given his nitro bike game yet but he will have it soon if he carries on behaving at :teacher:

Photo expert aka Cass and anyone else with advice:goodvibes

Any tips on taking portrait photos?

I'm the new designated photographer for the schools grad photos. Apart from lighting what else should I consider? Should they look slightly off camera or face on? Opinions? What about skin colour, do I need to do anything in particular for black skins? Does the flash "bounce" off shiny skins? I wont have powder or anything like that so its "take it as they are", althoguh I can get wet paper towels and get them to wipe their faces if too shiny/sweaty:scared:

I taking the demo shots on Tuesday next week.

Found out yesterday that my niece is having a baby girl. Her name is going to be Madeline (that's sounds like lyn not line) Rose

Congrats!! :goodvibes

But before I go...

Frank actually bought BLT on the member cruise, so he was able to book a 2 bedroom MK view 11 months out. :yay:

BLT would be really convenient if you are planning to stay after the cruise for MNSSHP, since you can walk to MK from there.

Now I really am going night night.

Wow, good for him! Sigh...one day  I'm hoping to rent points for Halloween night too for BLT because we are doing MNSSHP and it sure would be convenient :thumbsup2

Karen, this one?

Someone posted it on the DIS or in their shared photobucket account...I'm not sure who to give the credit to....

This is a scan of a postcard you usually have in your stateroom desk drawer :thumbsup2

Wow Karen, that's a pretty big task they've given you!!! :scared1: I'm no expert, but I always like the face-on shots ;) I wouldn't even know where to begin with this one...you da man!! :worship: :worship: Let us know how it works for you :thumbsup2

My answer: I rather enjoyed this show.......

By far Hercules...sad to see it go.
Although if I had been at the above event it would have been by far my favorite.

Glad you got it. Suz told me that she only put normal domestic postage on it. Did you have to pay when it got there? I hope not.

Thanks again.

Yeah! - cost me an extra $100:rolleyes1 ... make the cheque payable to K Mason:lmao: ;)

Aint that the truth. Just another reason why I don't send my kid to the public schools. :sad2:

Whats the difference then in public/private re hugging and contact? No matter where I volunteer eg his Beavers etc its a "no touch unless an emergency" policy.

I kinda volunteered:rolleyes1 It was either I did it or they didnt have them taken at all.:confused3 If its anything like the keyrings we did at christmas we should make a heck of a profit. We made over $1000 profit for the school on those:banana:

Any idea about photographing people with glasses on? Do the glasses bounce the flash back? I'll have to test that before I start. Also we have a few REALLY dark skinned children. Without sounding silly, they always turn out too dark. Its as if their skin absorbs the flash too much.:confused3 I may take extra lighting to light them up. I will only have 30 minutes to set up the area before the kids start trooping in. I have 90 to photograph. I'll take 3 shots of each child to ensure I get a good shot.

I might try the 123 rule.. get them to close their eyes, open on 2 and click on 3 so they dont blink at the wrong time.

I'll post the test shots I take next Tues and you can give me your opinion. I'm using an Asian girl for the model. I can also put glasses on her to test how the flash works. They might have to look just slightly off camera so it doesnt reflect in the glass.

Karen,
Not sure about the private sector, but I do know at my school we are allowed to do the "side" hug with the kids. You know stand side by side with them and then put your hand on their shoulder and give them a squeeze.

I am soooooooooo looking forward to turning the clocks ahead this weekend!!!

It sure will be nice to see the :sunny: out later in the day!!! :goodvibes

Yeah I agree with the later days. I want the snow to melt so I can give the cars are really deep inside and out cleaning.

Longer days help with that as well.

You are correct. You need to be paid in full prior to the date. I usually pay about 10 days out as to not run into any problems the day of. It gives them a whole week to get it taken care of.

If you use your Disney Visa, remember, you don't have to pay for it for 6 months. So if you would have normally paid at 75 days, you could pay at 100 or 105 and just get 0% for that time and pay it off as you normally would have. :thumbsup2
We just got the Disney Visa in November. I am looking forward to the shipboard credit as well as the 0% for six months. I got our statement the other day and we have 34 credits already. I am hoping we have about 100 by the time we sail.

how do the credits work? 10 credits per dollar?

I believe it is 1% of all purchases. So, for every $100 spent, you get 1 credit. Perhaps Jeff can clarify with specifics. I know they don't round off to the next 100. So if you spend $350, you only get 3 credits, not 3.5 or rounded to 4.
