Good job Bernie..........although we know Jeff could have gotten it if he tried......he has special DIS powers. Like knowing how to capture all the big milestones. I still can't figure that one out. I'm just jealous!!!!!! Luv ya Jeff.

I've told a few people how to go for those milestones. It is an art (or should I say there is a trick).

There definitely is a laundry room on deck 2. We were in 2112 last cruise and walked out our room and to the right down the hall just a little bit to get to it. I think it was more midship. Does that make sense? :confused3

Good! Now that we are in Cat 9 on deck 2 I was hoping there was a laundry room down there and I can't seem to find any of my DCL maps of the ship that include that. Lori are you on deck 2 on the BOB too?

Look Portside about room 2080-2090. I think that's where it is.

Cass we went to Trunk Bay on our own on our first cruise and the only Eastern cruise we have done so far. That was 8 years ago and Rachel was 6 at the time. When we got off the Magic we got a taxi to take us to Red Hook to get the ferry to St. John (very curvey roads on that ride and Rachel got car sick. When we got to Red Hook Al went looking for a place to buy her some gingerale and Dramamine, she is still a little nervous about going again this cruise beacuse of that). When we got off the ferry in St. John we took a taxi to Trunk Bay and played on the beach and snorkled. I kept very close track off the time, there was no way we were going to miss getting back to the Magic in time. When it was time to leave we just gave Rachel more Dramamine and reversed the process. It worked fine! I had extensively researched how to do this on the regular cruise thread before we went.

We went on ths disney excursion, were afraid to do it on our own, we were a group of 12, you have to take a ferry then a taxi. The ferry was very hot. Trunk bay is beautiful and worth the trip.

How dare you ask a cruise related question here? :snooty: :lmao:

We've been over to St. John, but it was on the DCL excursion. It did not go to Trunk Bay, but I got some great pics of it.

Anyhow, you can take a boat from either the dock we get in at or from Red Hook (which is just across the bay from St. John but you'll have to take a cab there - I hear the driving is crazy though). I would do Trunk Bay on my own just to get more time there at less cost, but since it will be technically going to another island, I want DCL to be responsible for getting me back to the ship. In Acapulco in October, they waited almost 45 minutes for one of their excursions to get back. If they were on their own, we would have left. Just call me paranoid.

The winds could shift and the sea gets rough and some of the boats/catamarans may not run (our first trip to St. T had all the St. J stuff cancelled). There is a car ferry that will run over there, but not sure how much that is for a person or if it ran that day.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help Cass.

Thanks guys. :thumbsup2 I'm also a little worried about getting back but I really want to go and I don't have the option to do it through DCL :sad2:

Jeff, you mentioned we can take a boat from Havensight, I didn't know this! Do you have any info on it for me?

I know better than to go for one with more than 2 other people on at the same time. It's hard when the post are coming fast.

heheh I heard you were a FO pirate ..lol pirate:
thought I would grab while I could.. hehehe

Cass - Are you looking for kid-friendly beaches? That's what I'm on here researching right now.
We want some good beach time but don't want to be stuck there all day.

There was a laundry on deck 2 of the Wonder. I would guess it would be the same on the Magic.

Deck 2 has a laundry on the Port side.

Decks 6 and 7 are on the Starboard side.

I like 7's the best and actually go up there sometimes to do the laundry.

Thanks everyone :grouphug: Those were some quick answers! It's not far from our cabin, just around the corner on the portside!

Tanya and fam will be down there at that time. I'll let her know to find a red dress to wear so maybe you can spot her. She has strawberry blonde hair.....is that close enough?

that would be great!!!! i think i remember what she looks like from a pic she posted long ago. we'll be watching for them.:grouphug:

We want some good beach time but don't want to be stuck there all day.

Well, I spent many hours doing research...we had wanted something relatively close to the dock and without all the crowds but with some nice facilities. I had narrowed it down to Divi Little Bay on St Maarten, and Emerald Beach on St Thomas.

But then I was looking at pics of Trunk Bay the other day and I just got a pang in my chest and remembered how much I really wanted to go there. But from all my research, it takes forever to get there and back and kinda pricey too and I'm not sure how Kira will take all that travelling. So I think I am back to more research as I think Emerald Beach is a little too far.

I'm sure it is in my Fodor's book. I'll look it up tonight for you.

I am too paranoid to go too far away from the ship... don't wanna miss it..lol

Hi Nancy and Dan!!! :wave2: How goes it? How was the game today?

Hey Bernie - I didn't realize you had thyroid issues. I am so sorry. My mom has had hypothyroid her whole life. I was on Armor for a while, but mine straightened out. It can be awful - I'm sorry. The chicken and veggies sound delicious!

HI GUYs

Our grandson team won 4-1
Week after next Nana and Grampa travel to Bangor which is about 100miles from Brunswick to the State PEWEE tourney which the boys play in. They will be placed 2nd or third in the State in there division of Pewee Hockey.
That means 2 overnights. We do it every year.
Nancy and I are the Nana and Grampa of the team:rotfl::rotfl:.
You and Mack have a great week.
Just got through watching Extreme Make over the show that Capt Chris took part in with the S elevation Army. I believe his crew fed the workers.
Have a great evening.
