A humourous ditty.....

All At Sea

It was last summer when
Uncle John and Aunty May
Left Southampton
On a cruise ship holiday

I wouldn’t like it
It was like a holiday camp at sea
And just like Butlin's
There was entertainment daily

And after dinner
At the end of each day
Everyone met in the lounge
Where there were games to play

But one evening
Illness struck aunty May
So Uncle Joe
Went on his own to play

Each person had to give
A ten minute address that evening
On a subject
Of someone else’s choosing

When Joe’s turn came
Of all the subjects
That he could have had
He had to talk about sex

He was very nervous
But gave of his all
And at the end Applause
Reverberated round the hall

Feeling very pleased
Joe went back to his cabin
And found May still awake
Who wanted updating

“We had to give a little talk
It was a very nice evening
Ten minutes on a subject
Of someone else’s choosing”

“What was your speech about?”
May wanted to hear
He thought for a moment
And said “It was about sailing dear”

The next day on deck
To May’s surprise
The other passengers
Greeted her with excited cries

“Oh your husbands speech
Was just wonderful
He was very enthusiastic
And very knowledgeable”

“Well I am quite surprised
To here that of Joe
As he’s only done it twice
As far as I know”

“The first time he was sick”
She said with a scoff
“And the second time
His hat flew off”.

Too funny.

Hey everyone. I just got back from taking my kids sled riding at a golf course. It was a good time but a lot of other parents had the same idea, so it was pretty crowded.

Now we are getting dinner ready, but I'll be DISing a bit tonight. I am close to 2000 posts after all.

Karen - Great pictures at Gator Land and the airport!!! I do hope you keep a scrapbook - Ellis is growing up so quickly!

I dont scrapbook but I do make a photo album of every trip. He certainly is growing - nothing fits him all of a sudden!

Great pictures Karen!

I haven't been to Gatorland in ages, although I must admit that I'm not much of a reptile fan (like Indiana Jones, I especially hate s-n-a-k-e-s!). Looks like Ellis enjoyed it.

Nice that you got some time to walk around the airport and take some pictures. Orlando Airport really has a lot of fun things to do. I'm staying at the Hyatt in the airport terminal next Saturday, so I will be snapping pictures as well.

We didnt really have much time at all at the airport - it was just a case of stand there..click...stand there..click, etc. We check in our luggage at DTD, so we never get to the airport early. We only just had time to make a quick "happy new year" call to Jeff - our plane was already boarding by the time we got to the gate!

please pass this "Atta Boy" onto Ellis for me. Good job at Karate Class kiddo! :thumbsup2

I will - thanks Nancy

An Appropriate Wisconsin Poem

It's winter in Wisconsin
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!
Oh, how I love Wisconsin
When the snow's up to your butt,
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose is frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
I guess I'll hang around,
I could never leave Wisconsin ,
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

We've got ice skating on TV as well, now. Don't know if you get it ....Dancing on Ice. Similar to Dancing with the stars, but on Ice. They get trained by Torvill and Dean...Wow!

They're good arent they Heather for their first go! - I can only go forward.. I'm not very good at stopping either so I just head for a wall and run into it:rotfl2:

Ok I am going to ask a silly question, but does your scales actually weight you in stones?

Not a silly question. Mine are digital so I can choose either pounds, stone and pounds or kilos. Most people in the UK still use stone and pounds even though we went "metric" years ago.

I hate it  - it means the end of a great holiday and a nine hour plane ride:sad:

Yes, stones and pounds.:lmao: There are 14lbs per stone....so Karen wants to be 144lbs for the cruise. My ww target is 137lbs, but I want to be below this, ideally 134lbs.

I would love to be lower, but I'm setting myself a more realistic target - I dont even think I'll manage that though:rolleyes2

Don't forget you need to think of a poem for your #2000 post.

Well said Heather:thumbsup2

Is that a rule?? I hate poetry!

Not if you dont want to... its just something I started ages ago and I keep asking for poems / ditties when people reach miletsones.

I'll start you off....

There was a young Captain called Chris,
He sat down at his P.C. to Dis....
The darned thing went BANG!
So an engineer he then rang,
who decided to fix it like this:badpc: :badpc:

I havent done well today:sad: ... my pedometer is not happy with me:p
I only did 5000 steps:guilty:

Oh well, tomorrow is another day:thumbsup2
