it was a scene man.pirate: pirate:

Gee, it wasn't meant to be THAT scientific! My numbers came from a reliable source and were meant to be an approximate range. But I will say that it travels faster than the guesses have been so far. Maybe it doesn't seem that fast because the ride is so smooth.
Sorry - As an English teacher, I am always concerned with sources. Aside from that, I love learning! Sorry - it's a nasty habit of mine.

Yeah! :woohoo: :yay:
I'll be over for dinner tomorrow:thumbsup2
It's only a few hours to Ohio isn't it:rolleyes1

you betcha.:thumbsup2
happy to have you. this means you'll be joining us on the cruise then.

Today's Trivia Question:

How fast can the WDW monorail travel?

How fast does it typically travel?
I hitched a ride in the cab of a monorail on the WDW loop one day. The driver/captain said that it tops out about 40 near the GF. I am thinking regular cruising speed to be about 30.

I remember reading on another Disney bulletin board that a few cast members released the safeties on the epcot spur and had it up over 60. I don't know how true it is!

well hello!!!! you're my new best friend.:rotfl2: :lmao:
that was in canada. pack your bags robin, we're heading north.:thumbsup2

did you see the list of lady contestants??
one girls name was WISCONSIN PP GOOSE. hmm???

Sean said if Robin doesn't want to go he'll go with you :sad2:

OK, Robin was actually the closest.

The answer was taken from Lou Mongello's Disney World Trivia website. He reports the top speed to be approximately 50 MPH but they typically don't travel more than 40 MPH. I'm guessing they hit 40 MPH when traveling on the EPCOT - Transportation Center route.

My boss is a former English Teacher. I drive her nuts with my very long run on sentences (the reason for my tag) Oh and she loves to use "big" words, which she knows drives me nuts.

So I believe I recognize Joanne and Kathy. Maybe even Nancy K. I take it that the first lady is Leisha. How about the other two? Mimi (Ron Jon) and perhaps Mod Mary? :confused3
I was going to answer but I read on & found someone did.

Good luck...Rick hates food shopping and I hate him coming with me. He has a habit of taking off with the trolley and I turn around with an armful of groceries and the trolley is missing. I then have to play "hunt the possessed husband with trolley" game.

He also hates it when there are lots of people in the supermarket cause they get in his way. Just call him The Supermarket Terminator. You better watch the back of your ankles...they're not safe when he's around.

I'm with you on the DH in the grocery store - but I'm really responding to the calling the shopping cart a trolley. I love it! Over here a trolley is a street car, like a bus.

Hello Everyone -

Just thought I would introduce myself. My name is Lisa and my family (all 14 of us) will be sailing with all you Bobers. You guys have already met my cousin Firefighter Chris. My family consists of myself, Lisa (35), my better-half, Quincy (not a poster & don't understand the whole idea??), son, John & step-son, Tyrin (both 14 at time of sailing.) Also joing us are a few new sailors...my grandma (84) and my uncle as well as experienced sailors, my parents, my two brothers, and another uncle....plus Chris and his family.

I do not know how much time I will have to post as I work full-time and go to school part-time. Nights are pretty busy, but I will try my hardest to keep up ;) . I am very excited for this much needed trip!

Lisa

Welcome to you and your family. I'm Nancy K & my DH is Dan. We're retired folks traveling sans kids. We've been on DVC Members Cruises but this will be our first 7 day. We also are a firefighter family - 2 DS's on the job.

Hi all - just had to pop in when I heard Father Frank will be sailing with you all. One more reason for me to wish I was going with you all! If any of you are Catholic please take him up on his offer of Mass. He did one for us the night before the Member Cruise and it is definitely one of those special moments I will treasure forever!

Hey Mary - good to hear from you! Not too late to join us!

not fast enough for us.:wizard:

Love the shirt! Haven't happen to see it before but we really should have one since that is the sound we have on the computer when we shut it down. When we turn it on it says Welcome to the Magic Kingdom & when E-mail comes in we hear the horn from the ship!

Mimi - those pictures are lovely. When were they taken? Now you've got me thinking I need a long dress after all.

Grandson's hockey game ended in a 4-4 tie. It was the coldest rink in the state I think!

Time to say goodnight. It took me a long time to catch up & post.

I know they don't travel at very high speeds because of the braking system. :woohoo: I win...:woohoo:
