Looks like I missed a post or two.

Amanda and Annette, so sorry you won't be able to join us anymore. Maybe we'll get to meet up some other time. BTW...what is the Run for the Feast? (Did I get that right?)

It's the Race for the Taste. It's a 10k race from Wide World of Sports to EPCOT. It's part of the Food & Wine celebration.

Kathy--a few friends and I are spending Valentine's Day weekend in NYC. Any suggestions for a hotel that is reasonably priced? We are coming in on the train into Penn Station......

Sounds like a lot of fun!

Unfortunately, since Valentine's Day weekend is big in NYC (lots of the locals go into the city to celebrate) the hotel prices are higher than usual. You're probably looking at $120 - $200 a night, for a nice, clean, non-dive hotel.

If you want to stay right by Penn Station, there's The New Yorker , which is right across the street. The location is great and it's got a lot of charm. But you're probably looking at $189 a night.

If you want to move up a few blocks and stay in Times Square/Theater District, I would definitely recommend the St. James hotel on 45th. It's an older hotel with a lot of class, but not as many amentities as some of the more expensive hotels. The location is perfect - you can walk to everything and it's near the subway. The best part is you can probably book this for $120-$150 a night. If you're looking for a place to sleep that's right in the middle of everything, this is it.

One of my favorite hotels, if you want to splurge a little, is the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The views are incredible and it's right in the middle of everything. But your probably looking at $250 a night, minimum.

Sorry if I'm babbling - I love NYC and I love to make travel arrangements. Hope this helps and I'd be happy to answer any other questions you have.

Ok, the rest of the "headcounts" are on their way in. Guess I should set a good example and do a little work.

I'm interested in hearing about the new WW program too. b/t/w I am still loving that crock pot cookbook you sent me with all the WW points! I printed it out (at work, of course, it was like 64 pages/2 sides!) and stuck it in a binder. I've also shared it with my work buddies and we are swapping reviews now!

It's out in Staten Island...Navy Lodge.

Have you been to the one in San Fran? Lovely, isn't it?

We are staying at the Hale Koa on Waikiki Beach in September! I can't wait!!! Have you guys ever been there?

I have found LaQuinta (17 West 32nd Street) for $245 for two queen beds. We don't mind sleeping 4 in a room. It's only for 2 nights. What do you think?

Kathy, who is in the military in your family? You told me this already, didn't you? I am having "patchy" deja vu....lol.

Is that $245 for both nights???

Not familiar with that hotel, but it looks like it's not far from Penn Station. Depends on what you're planning to do once you get to the city. Times Square and the Theater District are about 10+ blocks north of there. Have you checked out Hotels.com? They have a lot of good deals and a map that shows where the hotels are. If you're willing to spend $245 a night you could get something that's a little more central.

Yes, it's for one night, but it is the quote for 4 people.

He doesn't play yet. He just turned 3 in September. But soon he will start up with all the sports.

He will have a great time. Both of my kids made some life long friends playing sports. I miss the sports. Ryan is the assistant wrestling coach for the high school he and most of the family graduated so we are watching him coach.

Thanks Nancy. BTW, Harrison went pp in the potty today!
Good job on preparing meals. We talked about preparation being the key to losing weight.
Scott is going to get jealous if you start looking at other men!:rotfl:

Congrats on the potty. That is a good start

My Dad is a retired Mst. Gunnery Sgt. That's why he gets invited to the Sgt. Major's picnic. He spent 5 years in the regulars and 25 in the reserves. He met my Mom, a WM, in Camp Lejeune after he got back from Korea. They'll be married 55 years in Sept.

Once a Marine, always a Marine. Here he is in Bonaire last April - he's 76 - doesn't he look great? I am very proud of him!

I just read up on it since I missed the last few meetings. Looks like they've adjusted the Points a bit and are focusing more on filling foods to keep you satisfied longer. Looking at the exercise points, it seems like you have to exercise longer to wear off more points.

Di or Nancy K...correct me if I'm wrong please.

And....bravo for you for printing out the cookbook.:thumbsup2 I tried to send it to myself here at work and I can't open it. No way am I printing that thing out at home. I'm too cheap to use up the ink. :snooty:

Yes, Master Guns looks great! Your mom was a WM, too. Wow, that's great. I always have such respect for women in the military. I know I couldn't take it......

Ok, I think I can sit at the computer for a few minutes...so here's a few pics!

Rob printed it out for me at work, too. Love it!

Sorry everyone but Annette and i have decided to reschedule our cruise to the beginning of October to be able to participate in the race for the taste on Oct 11th.

Amanda

I am sorry you will not be on the cruise with us. :sad1:

Chuck and I have a bucket like that too. It's actually a WDW popcorn container. :rotfl: Last time it was turned in we had a few hundred dollars. But I do like your idea of the counter. Maybe we'll get one for the bowling fund.

I called my TA and we were never charged the fuel charge to begin with so there is no refund for us. :thumbsup2 Thanks for the assistance though on it.

I do plan on sending her an email after the 1st to be sure we get our OBC from them. There were no AAA specials running when we booked this cruise so she said we will automatically get one in 09 if they are offered. I do plan on staying on top of this though. Every little bit helps. :thumbsup2

Have a good "early day" Kathy. I'm there until 4:00 or so.

I do a container of some sort for every trip - covered with pictures from wherever we're going. We usually have somewhere between 400 and 800 to take.

Well, that's me for today and I don;t know if I'll be back before 12midnight, so

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERONE AND HERE'S FOR A WONDERFUL 2009 AND A WONDERFUL CRUISE IN OCTOBER:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :yay: :yay:

I have probably missed you Heather, but to all of you across the ond - Happy New Year's Eve and Happy New Year's Day!
