Janice/Mark,

I see your light lit. Are you on?

Mark, did you get your pizza today?

I had white pizza on my trip to Houston at BJ's Brewery. It was chicken with alfredo sauce. It was good but I really like cheesey tomato mushroom pizza. Diane

Monday morning at home with everyone else at work or school. Low 20's and not looking much better for the next few days. A few more things to get done outside before the snow starts flying.

Welbeck. I'll file that one away and remember the name. 30 yard screamer. Thats a shot!!! I wish we could get more of your games. ESPN gives us a few but not very often.

I cant see many men complaining:lmao:

No complaints here. :rotfl:
After all, that would be rude. ;)

We are getting close enough to start packing for our trip now. I've been envious as many of our fellow DISsers have been going the past 3 or 4 months. :wizard:

Well everyone. That's it for me. I have to go and do my running around. I probably won't be on until later this afternoon or evening.

Again, the Politically Correct police will crack down on you.

Some think the term "separation of church and state" in our constitution means absence of ALL religion anywhere. Not the right interpretation, but they pressure people enough to get their way.

- WARNING - Downer Political Discussion - Skip if not in the mood! ---

Wow, you seem to be on the right side of this issue - that the constitution is not being interpreted correctly - yet you yourself seem to be a victim of misinformation. The term "separation of church and state" is not in our constitution. It is not there in any shape form or fashion. The founders never intended any such separation and it is a gross mis-application to construe what is in the constituion that way. All that the founders intended, and indeed all that is in the constitution is: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" (1st Amendment).

Not to get too serious here, you just hit one of my "land mines". How can anyone think "separation of church and state" is in our constitution? It is not.

I appreaciate your intent, just please, let's get the basics right.

- END OF WARNING ---- Please resume happy discussion of lighter topics!

My husband went to West Point (the United States Military Academy) and has a great apple sauce story. I won't spoil his telling of that one. When a fellow cruiser heard the story on the SSMC 08, she had the kitchen make apple sauce for him at every meal after that. He said it was really good apple sauce too - very chunky! Suffice it to say for now, his mom was divorced and raising 3 boys on a teacher's salary. Apple sauce might as well have been a green vegetable for them. It was at every meal. We always keep it here at home too - he says it goes with everything. I rarely eat it by itself, but I love it in oatmeal. I guess it is all in what you grow up with which for me was mostly Spanish cuisine.

OK - I can't keep up with how many pages go through this site, but even on spot checking (and with hints from my lovely tiki wife) I became aware of this shameless assault on the wonderful delight of apple sauce! I personally conspired to cause people in England to dislike this culinary treat so that I would have more of it here in America!

APPLE SAUCE SAVED MY LIFE

When I was a baby it was the only thing I would eat. My Mom took me to the doctor because she was worried but he said to let me just eat it - I haven't stopped yet! Without apple sauce I would have starved as an infant!

OK - the shortest version I can manage of the Military Academy story. The first six weeks at the academy are called "beast". Very, very regimented, very little to eat, lots of physical activity - I lost 20 lbs. Most kids would get a box from home with goodies - cookies, brownies, etc. After 2 weeks we were allowed to phone home - I begged for food. After week 3 allowed another call I said "Where is my food?" - my Mom - "I thought you were kidding!" - me - "NO - not kidding, starving!" - after week 4 allowed another call - "MOM, where is the food!?" - Mom - "Oh, I forgot to mail it." - At the end of week 5 we marched out to camp in the woods for the final week. We lived in small "pup" tents and it rained the entire time - MUD!. Mid week a box arrived for me at my tent in the pouring rain - my squad gathered around to see what could be shared - in the rain I opened the box to find four large cans of apple sauce! I mean those big ones like a restaurant would order! I couldn't keep it in my very small tent, not allowed to leave anything outside. My friends made fun of me for ever about this! I managed to open one can with a very tiny can opener the army issues and scooped out all I could with my hands and ate it, but then had to throw the rest out. I didn't ask my mom to send any more food!

Anyway, I still love it and the stuff they made for me on the Disney cruise was great! I will have it again so look out Karen Mouse - If you see an American wearing a Clarets shirt and eating apple sause - it will be me!
