10/24/2009 Bash on the Boat Cruise (I'm with BOB) Chapter #9

I still don't think she'll believe that Somehow I got conned into agreeing to take her and Courtney (her friend that is cruising with us) to Chicago on Aug. 24 for the Jonas Brothers concert there, I told Rach I must love her very much You should see her bedroom walls, you can't see the walls anymore because they are completely covered in Jonas Brothers posters and now she is working on covering her ceiling with them too

Tell her they fly from Chicago to Panama and join us on the ship on the 25th.

Hershey Park is great for a 9 year old. My daughters' Girl Scout troop (Brownie level: 1st-3rd grade) went there 2 years in a row. The theme park is a combo of roller coaster and other amusement park rides plus a water park area... no wave pool like Disney, but a cool play area and a couple of rides. My girls loved the water area. Sarah took her first roller coaster ride there. Of course, there are some long lines... and no fast pass!

Next to Hershey Park is a shop/museum to go through. There is a little mock "factory" tour that the kids can do to see how chocolate is made and help with the "packaging".

Those would be the main things to see. There is also Hershey lodge that you could visit. I think there is a trolley tour of the town as well.

Whatever you choose, have a great trip!

Thanks for the input. It will be a hard decision. I'm leaning towards TN or VA myself. Not sure where Suz will pick. I think she'll go for the Hershey/Niagara Falls one. That or Mt. Rushmore.

i'm sooo proud of addison. she was here the other day and robin fixed her a plate and she separated all 3 items on the plate.
dil courtney said she's been doing that with every meal.!!

We had a great dinner with Paige and family tonight. I need to download pics but that ain't happenin' tonight. All the kids had a blast and the adults talked and talked and talked. We need to do it more often.

You're starting to get like the WI BOBers. We get together and can just talk for hours. It is great the friends we've all become from the cruise and these boards.

How long are Sean and Cath in for?

Well, I'm heading off to bed. We are going hiking tomorrow and then to a pool. It's our last full day with Cath and Sean. We have had a great vacation with them. We've all learned lots of new words and different meanings for the same word. Plus, Sean will sample any food, even a "nasty" peanutbutter and jelly sandwich. We couldn't believe that it's not a staple food there like it is here.

How long are Sean and Cath in for?

They fly to NY on Tuesday then home from there on Sat. evening.

I told Paige we need to get our families together. It is shameful that we live so close and this is the first time our families have done something together. It really is great the friendships that have formed from here.

I was skimming the DS thread and it looks like Joey Fantone is NOT going to be on the Repo. Rumor has it that Ali and AJ will be on our cruise. Guess they are expecting a lot of "tweens" on our cruise.

Maybe that is why they changed the kids club groups to 4-5, 6-7, 8-10, 11-13, 14+.

I read this too and I am not happy about it. I think Disney has forgotten what demographic paid for the cruise.
I was just telling Sean that I hoped Joey would be on our cruise. Ugh I am so Oh well just won't go see those shows that night I guess. Do you at least think maybe they will bring back the girls that they had last year singing Ariel, Belle, etc. I hope they have something like that. I'm also kinda hopin that Roy will be on the cruise too, I believe he was on the 05 EB cruise.

Anyone think one is better than the other?

Well, you have a place to stay if you pick the DC area.........

Then you can take an extra week off and go to WDW with us the next week.
