I know I like my kids too, but picking up the tab has never happend so maybe when DS # 1 hits 24 ? We can dream?????

He dropped his laundry off last week on his way to grad school. And this loving:rolleyes1 mother did it all!!!

I think he is worried that they may just get the kennel for their honeymoon.:rotfl2: We could not believe that he even offered. I do not think he had any idea that we would let him. I have a feeling that it may be the last time he offers.

I hope we can do the Brunch in Parlo. Nancy was talking about it the other day.
Joanne she is getting more existed about this cruise than the members. what an influence you are girl:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.
We were checking flights the other day if the prices keep going the way they are we will be driving and staying a few overnights. Example a Delta flight from Portland to Orlando with a layover in Atlanta cost more than a $1000.00 round trip for two. When we flew last month for the Members Cruise it was only 528.00 round trip for two from Logan in Boston. Maybe things will change before Oct.
Joanne you haven't sent Cass the in fo that goes with your picture Ha HA. We just did yours today.
I guess us Sox fans will have to wait for next year. Maybe Roger and I will be watching it next Oct on the Cruise

If you decide to drive come through Ky and stay with us. We can follow each other down. We are going to drive next year. Tommy wants to take two days to drive from here. I drove him crazy with making sure the weight in the luggage was evenly dispersed and we had to carry a picture I had to have on the plane. He decided that it would be easier to drive and that way I can fill the back of the van. I think we are going to stay a couple of days after the cruise too. I am like Nan I am counting down the days!!!!

I like your new hair color, Rose!:thumbsup2

Do you like it?

I think it's ok:) I did want it a bit more maroon/burgandy... but well it's my first time, so I'll learn how someday.

It's funny though every time I walk by a mirror, I'm shocked:eek:
OMG! That's me!

It's such a drastic change for me but I do like it.

Thanks!

Well, a ruined Christmas gift for my boy......

While I was at book group, we got a call from one of my neighbors. Rob and Derek (my almost 13 year old) both picked up the phone at the same time, and, almost immediately, my neighbor, who thought she was only talking to Rob, says, "Rob, I know y'all got the kids "Rock Band for Christmas, they just went on sale at Walmart." Derek heard the whole thing.....It is his and Alex's gift from Santa. He has known about Santa for a year or two, but was totally bummed that the surprise was ruined (I think he even shed a few tears over it.) It couldn't be helped, really. My neighbor doesn't know she ruined it, and I am not telling her. She would feel terrible. Rob told him that not to get too upset, there could be other surprises in store.

He and Alex have no idea that we are taking them to WDW.....I think we will just go to school on the 18th and check them all out early and hit the road. They won't know what hit 'em.:lmao:

Bummer, but cool surprise to make up for it:thumbsup2

I like it. Di

I like both:goodvibes

Rose, I think the darker hair color makes your eyes(beautiful by the way) pop out more, I like the darker color myself. ;)

I hope your DGD continues to enjoy it!

I am so sorryt his happened. Your neighbor probably would feel awful, but what a sad thing for your kids. If you can keep a Disney trip a secret, you are great!!! I say go for it - they'll be SOOOO surprised. Heck, maybe htey can go visit Santa and he can give them tickets early.

So glad the scrapbook was successful! I think it is such a precious way to preserve memories.

My thoughts exactly - the color now makes the eyes pop out at you, and you do have beautiful eyes.

Have a great Monday everyone - off to work.

Rose - Your hair looks very pretty darker!

Thanks everyone:hug:

Who know's but we have a while untill we need to dai anything. Hopefully we can get Palo brunch in the big room again!!! With three sea days it should be easier I would think.

I think that this may only be a problem if you are trying to add something to your reservation (spa, shore tour) at the same time as someone you are linked to is trying to add something. I know that some people who had linked dining had trouble making individual Palo reservations if the people they were linked to were trying to make reservations at the same time. Does that make sense?

Joanne, you were able to make individual Palo reservations even though you were linked, right? I guess no one else was trying when you did.

Of course, if Joanne can score the private room for us again, we won't have to worry about this :worship:

Is Tommy still threatening them with the honeymoon kennel?:lmao: Are you guys giving them your BLT points? ;)

I think it's sweet that he offered to pay.

b/t/w who's going to be watching your pooch next year? Will you be weighing him again before you leave? :rotfl2: I'm sorry, I just think that is absolutely hysterical! Most people are worried about their kids throwing a party while there gone but you're weighing the dog to make sure they feed him! :rotfl:

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll keep it in mind, although I think Kentucky is further west than our trip would take us. I95 runs pretty close to the coast. I'm with you on the problems with luggage on planes - seems like I did a lot of packing & repacking last month! We can't finalize our plans until next summer anyway.

Nancy

Wow....that's insanity!
And here I am mulling over having to pay about $500/person for a one way to Barcelona! I don't feel so bad suddenly!!!! :scared:

And I complain about having to pay more than $100 to fly to Orlando.

Mimi- She looks just like you!!!!

Thanks Annette. She really does, but she hates to hear it. There are pictures of me at her age, and the resemblance is uncanny.

I had such a busy weekend that I have not had a chance to get caught up on the board. The Twilight series was written for teenage girls about a vampire named Edward. Even though the market was teenage girls my friends and I (we are the 40 something crowd) have really enjoyed the books too. The movie is coming out soon and the guy who played Cedric Diggory HP is playing Edward. Your daughter would love them. The first one is Twilight, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, Midnight Sun. Some of the books are written from the girls point of view and some are from the boys point of view. I think the author is Stephanie Meyer? I hope you enjoy

Curious - are these books, how should I say this, appropriate for teen girls? I have heard the first one is very sensual - not that there is sex, but very sensual. As an English teacher, I get asked a lot, and I have not read this series.

Thank goodness!!! I have a tradition with my brother for Black Friday: we get up early, hit the mall, have a nice lunch and then go to the movies. I always look forward to it.

Oh Annette - Mack and I are out every year by 5, but it gets earlier each year as they opent he stores earlier. We shop all day and get as much done as we can. As a family we go to the movies on Thanksgiving Day, so the day after is for nothing but shopping!

Our grandson (the one without the toe) will also be 19 next month - the 17th. Loved the pictures!

Thanks! Hmmm - maybe they should meet! :lovestruc

Joanne,
Is this someting we should be concerned about? I think we are linked for dining.

We want to link too. I don't know how to do that, so when the time comes, someone please tell us!

I know I posted somewhere yesterday but with 3 sites going I'm not sure where! When you posted this I was having breakfast in preparation for a 1/2 day in 5th grade. Nice to know we were missed!!

Nancy

You are definitely missed!

Our baby girl will also be 19 on Dec. 5th.

Mimi your daughter is beautiful and what a plus that she is also a wonderful person. I am enjoying Megan so much at this age. I am blessed that I actually like both of the kids as people. Ryan is 24. We went out to dinner with him and Alisha on Sat and he paid the check. I thought I would have to perform CPR onTommy.

Dec. 5 is our son's birthday (he's the one who will be 22). You are right - it is wonderful to be able to say you enjoy them at this age!

Well we decided to take the day off. We joined our neighbor and went to Toys R Us to start figuring out the kids Christmas gifts. We were surprised to see that Wii's were in stock. We have been going back and forth whether we are going to get the kids a Nintendo DS each, or a Wii to share. :confused3

We then had a nice lunch together at Friendly's and now we are back home relaxing until the kids get home.

I am so surprised and amazed at how on top of all this so many of you are. Our kids have birthdays between now and Christmas and we don't even know what we are giving them for those. Money seems to be all they want, but it seems so impersonal.

We definitely want in on the private dining room for brunch if it's possible! We had such a blast on this last one! That is one of our favorite memories! Joanne is amazing - I think she can do anything with Disney!

Kathy - We got a BB&B coupon in the mail today. I hope you did too so you can take it to Best Buy and get a crockpot.

It never ceases to amaze me how much there is to catch up on with this board each day when I return home from work. I do look forward to it though!!! I can't wait to meet you all in person!

Starting the middle of November we start to work 14-15 hour days, so we need to have some idea of where we are heading.

I agree. I'm hoping we could do brunch again, since we have 3 sea days this time. I hope we can find a new Sean - we already have to find a new Wellington! Maybe we ladies can all don our diamond ta-ra-ras one afternoon and head to High Tea!

I actually got a crock pot this weekend! :yay: Unfortunately, I will have to wait for the weekend to fire it up, but I am looking forward to some yummy bbq pork this weekend! :cool1: I'm new at this crock pot thing, so I would appreciate any guidance you could provide :worship:

Chris - what do you do?
I run the local office of The Salvation Army, well Elaine and I both do. There is a lot of fundraising, picking up toys and making sure people are taken care of during the holidays. It peeks around December 15 or so.

Oh this makes perfect sense now as to why your days get so long. I understand!

Yeay!!! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

The crockpot is one of my favorite kitchen gadgets....I'm a working mom, so I love throwing something in the crockpot in the morning and coming home to a cooked meal!

Here's my easiest crock pot recipe:

Super Easy Chicken

5-6 boneless,skinless chicken breasts
1 1/2 c. chicken broth
1 packet dry italian dressing mix (the packet you'd buy if you were going to mix up your own italian salad dressing)

Put in the chicken breasts, sprinkle in the seasonings and pour in the chicken broth.

Cook at least 7-8 hours on low. Easy, low fat and makes a nice, flavorful chicken breast.

I also like to do pot roast in the crockpot....I usually buy a seasoning packet, and toss in the beef roast, baby carrots and potatoes....

Anyone decided on any excursions yet?
Our initial plans are a beach day in St. Maarten with jet skiing. We are undecided in St. Thomas but would lean toward going to Trunk Bay in St. John. I might catch a ride up the Paradise Point Tramway though. At CC you will find us on the family beach just hanging out. Although I am going to go snorkeling this time. I wanted to catch a glimpse of those 20K Leagues submarines last cruise!
