Janet and I will bring our pirate costumes for both nights. We just have a pirate shirt bought at Wal-mart serveral years ago and brown capries. Janet wears the boot tops over shoes and I wear Sandels. Nothing Fancy by any means and most likely will not dress for Halloween just Pirates night.

Do we just print the check in signature form/contract or do we also print out all the online check in information for each guest? I can't remember

Just the Check In signature form - they will have all the other information in their system...

whatever you do....don't forget YOUR PASSPORTS!!!! I only mention this as a friend of mine forgot hers once - and didn't have anything but her drivers license - they would not let her board...her luggage sailed for two weeks with her friends....this was not on Disney...but can you imagine that feeling of helplessness / sadness / disappointment and just plain mad :confused3:eek::headache:

Hi, Talking about space in the suitcase. I have been getting Space Bags the kind you roll out all the air to make clothes smaller. You can get them on Ebay cheaper than the stores. Make sure you get the roll air out kind so you don't need a vaccuum cleaner. Starting to pack this weekend and start looking for a custome I did not even think about that. Laura

So does anyone planning on staying near the port on Thurs or Fri want to meet up for dinner or something. I think that there is a some of us staying around the port..We are staying at Four Points Cocoa Beach on Thurs and Radisson at the port on Friday. Would love to meet up with people before we sail;) I just have to remember that we are expecting a character call at 7:00 on friday night. I keep thinking I will forget and not hear the phone, and I would be so sad

Suddenly I got a confirmation notice for our newly booked (we booked in January 2009) cruise last night?!!! Did anyone else get one suddenly on email? It also says our paid in full date of August, just incase I missed that one or something!

We are joining the bring one costume club too. First use will be MNSSHP, then DCL trick or treat and pirate night...I'm sure it will smell great by the end!!:rotfl2:

Yea I got that email too. It was weird. I thought maybe it was because we had a gty room and this email says our room number, but I have no idea why they sent it. I have been playing on dcl website seeing what rooms they still have available and at first when I saw the email and it say "congratulations on booking your cruise" or something like that, I thought to myself Oh S*** what did I do!:scared1: then I scrolled down and was relieved:rotfl:

Not to burst your bubble and maybe it's me, but i've tried those space bags and they don't seem to work. When I roll them up to let the air out some of my clothes seem to bunch up at the end and get wrinkled. Again, this could be cause i"m doing it wrong:confused3

Same here. I was worrying about that too. :rotfl:

Guess I can squeeze in a bottle of Febreeze just in case.

And then, we'll probably wear them again when we go ToT in the neighborhood Sunday. If we can even fit in the costumes by then.:scared1:

Thanks all for the input on the the pirate costumes. I'm just not sure about this pirate night thing. My wife found some costumes at Walmart and wants us to get them. But from what I have seen here on the boards I just don't think they would be good enough. I'm not sure what to do... :confused3

I hate being the newbie....

It's all about having fun. If you'll have fun dressing up, go for it. I know none of your fellow disers will judge you and nobody else matters! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

By the way, we picked up some ruffled shirts, vests and other pirate looking outfits at the thrift store a few years ago, that's what the kids will be wearing. And don't forget, pirates didn't wear designer clothes. :confused3

We left the house last year without them. About 3 miles from the house I asked DW if she had the passports and her reply was "Oh no!!"

Good thing I remembered to ask early on in the drive!

I have found that you don't roll them, lay it flat and roll over it with your back. That has worked for us. :) Do you have any space saving ideas? Laura

I wouldn't worry about it. In 4 cruises, we have never dressed up and have had just as much fun. My DH would not be caught dead in a pirate costume! We pack very light so making room for costumes has never been a priority. DCL does provide pirate bandanas at the dinner table so you can bring an eye patch and call it a day! I enjoy seeing people dressed up but I would guess only a third do. (And my guess is those are mostly Disers!;))

We learned about packing cubes from the cruiseboard thread a few years ago and LOVE them!:lovestruc I packed for a 2 week trip to Europe this summer in a 24-inch bag - and that included 3 pairs of sandals/shoes! The trick is to roll each piece of clothing and layer them in the cubes which are designed to fit in your suitcases like a jigsaw puzzle. They even have slim cubes that fit in between the bars at the bottom of your case.:thumbsup2 I slip the cubes right into the drawers and we just take things out as we need them. Highly recommend!:hippie:

Before we discovered packing cubes, we used the one and two gallon ziplock bags and did the same thing. Especially nice for the kids - all the rolled t-shirts in one bag and rolled shorts in another. The bags went right into the drawers!

Here's a link to the packing cubes:

Dave - I totally agree here...buy/wear whatever - NO ONE will care...and you will see the extreme in costumes from fully decked Capt Jacks to nothing more than the bandana and eye patch - it's all about the FUN and memories than the 'costumes'

OMG YES!!! Mine is already packed in the brand new backpack my TA just sent me along with my docs!!!

I've used the bags too & don't care about the wrinkles - a bottle of Downy wrinkle releaser for the casual stuff works great and i just send the dressier stuff down to DCL's laundry for pressing....it's all about how much stuff i can take / bring home :rotfl2:

Received our docs last night and my TA was right - it was a BIG box...she sent all of us new back packs and some FUN toys/bubbles etc for the Sail Away party!!!!! She's the best AND Disney (parks & cruise) are her specialty so if you ever need a GREAT TA - I highly recommend her....

We are dressing up for all of it, probably WAY too much. Our children are 5 and 7 and are so excited to have us dressing up with them! I started buying costume pieces in May and think I am finally finished! I haven't started packing yet, but I confess I am a bit worried!

Sounds like a wonderful TA. I haven't found a good TA - so I do all our bookings.

Might want to check with a CM about the bubbles before using. I've heard/read that DCL doesn't like/allow them, due to making the decks slippery.
