My DW and I are flying in on Wednesday and taking the ME to Kidani Village for three wonderful (or should I say "MAGICAL") nights prior to our cruise. Saturday we'll be taking the DCL transfer to the port. Is there anyone else out there "in the same boat" as us???

Nan and I might be 'on opposite ends of the same boat' - with you. Our first night is Wednesday as well, but our tentative ressie for AKL is at Jambo House. As I understand...there's a great distance between Jambo and Kidani. Currently waitlisted with 'mixed emotions' for The Boardwalk. Boardwalk is where we have a ressie for thurs/fri. I say mixed...cuz we love the ambience of AKL, but not too excited about changing hotels.

Am 'kicking around' ditching the rental car and using ME for transportation to the resort with town car service to port. Based on great friends feedback and positive posts on these boards, DCL transportation to port sounds like a great way to go. Being surrounded by other excited 'soon to be cruisers' sounds like fun. I...uhm...er...have a burning desire of being at port just before it opens. Wish I could explain it...but my cruise vacation always seems to start when I've arrived at port. And...it only gets better from there.

I noticed a couple of people are staying at the Radisson the night before. We're thinking about booking it too. Do they hold the room w/ your credit card? Or do they want payment as soon as you book?

They just held our room with the credit card at the Radisson. They didn't charge our card yet. I also made other arrangements with them such as for the shuttle for the port and a trip to the Kennedy Space Center and they were really helpful. I am looking forward to staying there. They did tell me that their shuttle to the port time slots fill up quickly so I booked our shuttle time the same day I made the reservations online.

Actually the walk to Jambo from Kidani is 5 minutes at worst. Now this is when you start to walk the traill from each - if you happen to be on the the opposite ends of Jambo or Kidani then you might have to tack on another 5 minutes. We actually just got back from Kidani a few weeks ago and didn't notice it was much of a walk at all.

WOWWW!! Well, I've filled up a carry on suitcase and still have 1/2 suitcase full of FE stuff!!! I'm really having a lot of fun with it, just don't want the bill to come in. Just can't wait!!! Can't come soon enough for me!!!

Going to Disneyland tomorrow YAAAYYYYY!!! Can't wait for that either!!! Getting all our pins ready!!! Gotta love it!

Anything you can provide. What do people do with the FE's? Do they put small thinks in them? Do you give everyone one thing per cruise?

It's a blast for everyone, not just the kids!!! Last cruise some folks from Australia gave the people in their group: a dishcloth, magnet, 2 coasters, candy, and a map all from Australia!!! Another gal gave a bookmark homemade with the cruise dates, a small rubber duckie with the dates of the cruise on it in permanent marker, a pad of paper, and a pen! People get very creative!!! I have been shopping and found great things for boys, girls, and those who have no kids in their room! Some gave small gift bage and others larger gift bags. It really is exciting to see the kids (large and small) running back to their rooms to look in their fish extender to see what they got!!! Then we get to fight for it!!! and watch

St. Louis, MO weather low 90's with dew points in the "low" 70's making the Heat Index/"feels like" temperature close to 100

Phoenix, AZ weather low 80's with dew points negligible making the Heat Index/"feels like" temperature WONDERFUL....

It is so hot and muggy this week in St. Louis and the pools/water parks don't open till Saturday.

Phoenix, AZ weather low 80's with dew points negligible making the Heat Index/"feels like" temperature WONDERFUL....

It is so hot and muggy this week in St. Louis and the pools/water parks don't open till Saturday.

Same thing here in Toronto but luckily I have my pool open and it is a perfect 78 degrees!!

I will concur...Phoenix weather has been AWESOME!!! So far this month, we've had our A/C on at home for maybe three/four days. This allows me to put more $ away in my 'Drink Of The Day' fund.

I wish I had an answer for myself - and I'd pass it your way. This has been the most unusual start of Summer I can remember.

Guarantee you...the pendulum will swing...and very shortly...our temps will skyrocket. REMEMBER...Phoenix was rated as the best state for cooking outside...in a solar oven.

Hope you get some relief from the heat --- very soon. k

I saw you guys are going to get hit with some "normal" summer weather later this week. At least the pools are open which is nice. I really wanted to get down to Phoenix this past Winter to visit my sister and enjoy the nice weather but I ended up not doing it. Enjoy the weather for sure!!! And the Pools (ours don't open till this weekend).

Hi Welcome!! We will be staying in room 8020. We have DD4 and DD3. I dont do the FE Exchange. I have only been on 1 other dis cruise. I think that it will be something I would just stress about, but people love it and there are some real experts here!

We have stayed at the Radisson before. The rooms are very standard but the pool area was very nice. They even had a band playing on the pool deck. Totally go me in the mood for the cruise.

Anyone have a link to the times in port for our cruise?

Hi, Warr Family, WELCOME ABOARD, both to the Disney Magic and the DISBoards!!! I will add you all to our main cruise post on page one.

As for the FE gift exchange, it is not required or anything. It is like a Secret Santa sort of thing where the passengers make/buy little gifts for their fellow cruisers. They are place in FEs, Fish Extenders, so named because they are hung a the Fish note holder that is outside of all of the cabins. They are like over-the-door pocket holder. If you look on the cruise forum page, you will find a thread that have pictures of FEs.

If, after checking out the FEs, you decide that you would like to participate, please let me know so that I can add you to the list. And be sure to vote as to when you wish the cut-off date to be.

Hi, Sherry. Thanks. I can't believe how fast this cruise seems to be approaching. I don't feel like I have anything done. It's not like I need to make an FE or anything. Just the gifts, buying swimsuits, luggage, and a bunch of other stuff I don't even want to think about . But somehow, we all MAGICally get it all done.
