It has been a long time since I posted anything. Work has been so busy for which I am grateful. My husband Alan and my son Richard are still counting down the days till the our 2010 cruise begins and I am looking forward to speaking with all of you and hopefully meeting you on the ship. DCL is the best!!!


A question was asked of me months back but I never did get a chance to check the boards. For that, I am sorry. The answer to where we live in California is in the city of Newman but I work about 86 miles away from there. My husband and I have long commutes (we work in Fremont, CA) but our reward to ourselves and our son is going to Disneyland and taking a Disney Cruise when we can !

Hi, Alisia. I think that I asked the question because I live in Cali, too. I am trying to plan another WDW trip/cruise for this summer, but I also want to go to Disneyland with my husband sometime this year. He isn't going on the trip in August.

When we hit the 1 year mark until the cruise, I won't be able to contain myself and my son will start looking for his "cruise wear" Oh boy

Just realized we are located in cabin 6050. Is it possible for an upgrade? Does anyone know how the upgrades work?

Just saying hello to all the newcomers since I last got on. Life continues to be busy. When my husband was transferred in '07 we could not sell our home. We had it rented until November but now we don't. It has been killing us making 2 house payments. We finally have an interested renter. All has been agreed upon verbally. Just waiting for the signed lease. Please pray for us. If this comes through I will be able to catch up in time to possibly go ahead with my November surprise trip to WDW.

Yup...ONLY 600 days to go. Think how great it'll be when we watch that # go DOWN DOWN DOWN..........................until 5-4-3-2-1!!!!!!!!!!!! Woohoo! LOL

Having tons of snow today (already up to almost a foot and more to come ...trapped in the house w/ the 2 little ones. Thank goodness for the DIS to pass the time. (Cause I have nothing better to do, right? LOL)

Guess it's true that March does come in like a lion! Hope the lamb comes soon, though.

Anyone know if they do anything special at Halloween-time on the Cruise when we're not there exactly on Halloween? TIA

From everything I'm reading here on the DIS (and boy, have I been reading), there's no rhyme or reason to why they upgrade. It's based on which categories are oversold, and where they need to move people to fill the ship. It doesn't matter if you book w/ TA or Disney, whether you pay in full or make payments...all random based on Disney's needs. So, there's hope for us all. The general consensus was, though, that 1st & 2nd time cruisers are more likely to be upped than frequent cruisers, for some reason.
